We offer seated brunch, lunch or dinner events for parties between 15 to 35 guests; seated family-style meals for parties of 35+; reception-style passed or stationary hors d'oeuvres for parties between 15 and 500! Our Events Team will work closely with you to ensure all your needs are met, and will ensure your event is a great success.

Essex Room

Guests enter the arched doorway into the Essex private dining room and are immediately transported to coastal New England with accented walls of weathered cedar shingles, deep navy blue paint, and a wooden Dory boat suspended from the vaulted ceiling. For larger events of up to 60 guests, the Essex and a portion of the Riverwalk can be combined by simply opening the connecting French doors. Curtains close the archway entrance to offer additional privacy and soften the ambient noise.
Outdoor Bar High tops & Couches

The Outdoor Bar high tops and fire pit lounge couches are perfect for small, casual gatherings. The tables can be reserved either individually or collectively, and are a great option to enjoy an afternoon party or celebrate under the stars. Covered high tops tables are available with direct access to the outdoor bar itself, while the lounge tables can host cozy fire pit lit nights or casual standing parties. A combination of high tops and couches can also be reserved.

As guests first approach the restaurant, they are greeted by a large outdoor bar nestled between Nationals Park and the Anacostia River. The bar itself is fully covered with a corrugated metal roof, allowing guests to enjoy the views even during spring showers. The large outdoor bar patio offers a variety of styles of seating whether it’s the high tops along the river or the cozy fire pit lounge couches. Reserve either one of these spaces for your happy hour, birthday, or casual get-together!

The Salt Line is available for full buyouts on a limited basis. We are able to offer both indoor and outdoor environments, versatile facilities, and great views of the Anacostia River.
Riverwalk

Lined with rustic metal planters and weathered rope, the covered outdoor Riverwalk runs parallel to the Anacostia River for a scenic waterfront view. A portion of the Riverwalk incorporating two farmhouse tables can be utilized as an extension to the Essex Room. The Riverwalk can also be reserved for smaller groups looking for an outdoor dining room. While not private, we can cordon off tables grouped together towards the back of the dining space to create a partially private dining experience.
