The seasonal risotto was so good. Had salmon with it and it was done perfectly. Can’t wait to order it again. Took a while to get our food, which is not typical.

Food was ok to pretty good. Both had steaks that were overcooked… medium rare came out medium+ and the filet mignon for my wife was ordered the same and came out nearly well done. Slow service, inattentive but nice. Sides were cold. Drinks were watered down and expensive. Just an off night? It definitely happens.

Unfortunately, we were very let down by the entire experience. The environment was chaotic, and it took nearly 30 minutes to just get our drinks. But by far, the food was the greatest let down. We got a chicken pasta and the Milanese, and both chicken breasts were dry and tough, and lacked any kind of seasoning. The Milanese had zero flavor. It was just dry chicken with arugula on top, no dressing or sauce. The pasta sauce was just tomato sauce, also lacking any flavor. Cute aesthetic, but no quality in food or service.

We ate here before a Broadway show at the PAC. They provide valet parking which is very convenient for a show at the PAC. Ambiance and service is great and the food was delicious!

Tried Avery for 1st time last night. The free valet parking at the Hyatt Hotel was easy and then a short escalator ride upstairs and you are at the restaurant. Now, this is a restaurant in a hotel which scares many people off here in the mid-west. Many other large cities (most due to limited space) have figured out you can have a good (even great) restaurant in a hotel. Avery did not disappoint with the service by the hostess, waitress, attentive table people and what appeared to be a GM walking around being active and even checking in on several tables. Diners like it when the upper management comes around to check on things. Good touch. The ambience is pretty much the same as the old hotel. Nothing super special but then not run down. Large bar area if you are by your self. Plenty of table and booth seating. My wife and I split the pork chop which was done very well with lots of great flavor. The charred brussels sprouts with whipped mash were also very good. We will go back when in the downtown area, especially for the PAC which was our situation last night. I recommend Avery and without having lunch or breakfast yet would likely do that to when downtown.
