PRISM Ratings and Reviews
Nice environment, fancy restaurant in the heart of a Casino (inside a casino-hotel). Interesting menu with a variety of seafood choices. The service was ok, however could have been better: took them time to bring the lobster bisque that was not hot enough. The oysters were great but they forgot to bring me the eating tools that must come with this and I had to wait few minutes although the food was on my table...
Food was very good especially the steak that we ordered. One of the server was not attentive but his partner did a good job. Apparently 2 servers were assigned to us but we don’t know coz the other one was kind of ignoring us while he’s out
Walking around when he hasn’t taken our order . We end up calling another server to help us.
Ordered the aged strip steak for $48.00. It was so full of grizzle that I could only eat half of it. For the price it shouldn't even have been an issue. I mentioned it to the server and the only thing she said and did was mention it to the cook. Nothing off the bill or offered another steak.
I have eaten at a number of steak houses and they and all hands down better then this place.
PRISM was overall a pleasant experience! The food was delicious. My date got the scallops and I had the fish. Generous portions for all categories from apps to main to sides. It was definitely a pleasant surprise to be full and still have some leftovers for the next day! I hope they keep this up. It's difficult to find a nice upscale place these days that offers decent size portions! Decent wine list. There's enough on there for every palate. Live music was just the right volume. Enough for background music but not overpowering to drown out conversations. Service was okay.
The food, service and atmosphere were impeccable. The live entertainment was
good, good selection of songs. The pricing was high, but we had Greektown
comps, otherwise too expensive for dining. Would recommend for a special
occasion, everything was top-notch!
Hostess was the only amiable and pleasant part of our experience. Food took at least 30 minutes, never saw our waitress and when we asked for checks and she did come, never received an apology for our long wait, any explanation, nothing! Ended up asking the General Manager about our long wait and he avoided returning to give us any explanation. In fact, we think our waitress was angry for us talking to the GM and took it out on us. We dropped a lot of money and felt like we should just keep silent and not ask any questions. The only helpful staff were the table bus staff and those pouring ice water. For what we paid for our food, we expected to be wowed with flavor and the food was very average. So disappointed!
So loud we could barely hear each other over our small table where we were seated uncomfortably close to two other tables. Food was just okay but way too pricey for what is served; steaks were overdone and the bland flavors were masked with massive amounts of salt. The worst part was our waitress; she barely came to our table, acted like she was super busy even though the restaurant was not full, and our glasses were empty for most of our meal.
We were going for my husband's birthday along with one other friend. Our server was very friendly and greeted us promptly. We ordered cocktails and then moved on to ordering salads. My husband and I ordered the porterhouse for 2 to share and our friend ordered the 12oz filet. We also ordered macaroni and cheese, truffle fries and brussel sprouts for sides to share. The food took a very long time. Everything was extremely slow in receiving. We were there for three hours. It was just moderately busy but the length in time we had to wait to receive food was kinda ridiculous.
The food was fair but definitely would never go back. You can have a far better meal at any steakhouse, such as Ocean Prime for the same price.
Restaurant was very lovely. Our servers Lisa and her helper Owen were top notch. Very capable, attentive and all smiles.
The musician who was playing, wish I knew his name (solo, with guitar) was the best....GREAT voice, fantastic song selection and his volume was JUST right. Being a bit hard of hearing my husband can't enjoy a lot of places for the noise. This was fantastic.
The only (rather large) drawback is proximity to casino....where the smoke gets in everywhere. It was quite strong, even made my eyes water.....until I got used to it. We valet parked at the Hotel, which was a mistake. We had to walk all the way through the casino to get to Prism. If we'd valeted at the Casino, the elevator up and short walk to the restaurant would have saved us from the misery of the gambling space.
VERY GOOD restaurant, though.
I’ve been to my fair share of steakhouses and this one doesn’t hold a candle to other restaurants wirh similar prices. I won’t waste my money here again. Servers were very friendly but also seemed to have half of tables in the restaurant. We sat there for a very long time multiple times unattended to.
Our server Shaun was fantastic, but service overall was very slow. Over 20 minutes to get drinks. We ordered our food at the same time as our drinks and didn't get food for over an hour. We were compensated for the wait, but they obviously need more help in the bar and kitchen.
My first time at prism.
It was a Wednesday, before the dinner rush. The place was less than half full.
The service started off great but went downhill quickly.... the wine ordered was not available. They did upgrade though so kudos.
The bread arrived a while after the appetizers. Strange.
Up until now it was fine... the biggest thumbs down was the long wait for main courses (chicken and scallops, nothing that should take over half an hour with the place less than half full).
At $200 after tip, and then being late for the show afterwards because of the long wait, it was a less than stellar performance by prism.
Might go back, it wasn't terrible, but I will shop around for a better experience first.
Food is good and staff is friendly beside all this.
Mixed impressions on this restaurant. Identity is confusing - fine dining or sports bar . The restaurant had both. Good food, fine dining price. Service staff appeared disorganized in servicing our table at first; but, it improved over the course of our meal. Live entertainment- a plus. Smoke from adjoining casino a negative. Overall, this restaurant just didn’t hit the mark in matching, food quality, food price, and food service.
The food was absolutely amazing! The service was amazing! I’ve never been to fine dining that brings you hot cloths for your hands and face nor water poured from such beautiful bottles . I had the NY Steak and it was everything !!!! Those with me had the lamb chops , and rib eye and they were very satisfied ! A1 quality service and amazing to the taste buds .
The food was AMAZING! By far one of the best steaks I've had. The service was wonderful (thank you Evan and Sammy)!! We drove an hour for the dinner and it was worth every penny! The live music was a nice touch but still able to have casual conversation. Don't be afraid to ask for more hot towels :)
This was our first visit and will be back.....the food was divine, the service was awesome and friendly. We have already recommended to several other couples. There definitely is no better restaurant for steak!! Thanks for the delicious dinner and a beautiful evening.
