Lisa is the best server if you’re in the dining room. Chidi and Diane if you’re at the bar. Best filet in town and make sure you get the zip sauce.
Me and my friends were in town from ohio and went to prism. Service and food was great. We will definitely be back.
Took my wife there for a date night. Pricey but great ambiance, quality food and great service. Would not recommend bringing children. This is definitely an upscale posh type restaurant. High end. They had rock songs being performed acoustical. Very low volume so you can enjoy conversation.
The food was great but the menu that I read online was not the same as in the restaurant. They haven’t updated their online menu in a very long time, according to the waitress when I ask about the lobster risotto that is no longer available. She was great though, the service is very good. The dessert was just okay. When I got home I had quite the stomach ache, but I can’t tell what that would be from. All in all I give Prism 8/10.
Prism was the finest meal I have had in my entire life. The meal started with a nice warm washcloth (which was great as we had come in from the casino). Our server, Gabby, came up shortly after and the whole night really began after that. She was super helpful and cheery and we received amazing service from her and the entire staff. We had some long island ice teas and they were perfect. A perfect balance between alcohol and mix so that you knew you had strong drink but it was easy to drink. We had a member of our group that had a pork allergy and the kitchen was made aware and they were very accepting and helpful in allowing this person to enjoy the night. We ordered apps, soup, and steaks. The apps were amazing. We had oysters on a half shell as well as oysters casino. The flavor of the food and the sauces really blew us out of the water. We got lobster bisque and french onion soup and they were both terrific. We also ordered two porterhouse steaks (one medium, one medium rare) and bone in rib eye (medium rare) and they were all cooked perfectly. The steaks were by far the best and most amazing food I have ever eaten. We couldn't stop complimenting the chef as this really blew us away. We also got a chocolate peanut butter dessert that was insanely good. It came with banana, jam and candied bacon. This was probably the most underrated part of the dinner and was the perfect finish to an all around amazing night. Thanks again to the chef, kitchen, staff and our server Gabby! We will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at this nice restaurant right off the noisy casino. Service was outstanding, ambiance nice with live music off the side, and the food was great. I enjoyed the dry aged steak, rock shrimp appetizer, and the tasty chop salad.
Service was friendly yet slow, especially for a Saturday night. Tables around us were not cleared, and dirty dishes just sat there for almost the course of our entire meal. The table next to us had a discarded king crab leg on a plate almost during our entire meal, which left a potent smell that just lingered.
Bar service was non existent and took 20 minutes for a simple cocktail to be made.
Sides were good, and the steaks were seasoned well, yet very over cooked. I saw multiple people send theirs back to be remade, but after waiting for 45 minutes we just ate it. I understand medium rare is different based on city, but this was closer to medium well to well. Whatever the sauce that came with the steak was, it was a delicious, and saved the meal as I was able to submerge the over cooked piece is steak in the sauce to add some moistness back into the meat.
The only negative is that you get a pronounced smell of cigarette smoke in the restaurant given the proximity to the smoking section in the Casino. Very unfortunate and seemingly something that could have been avoided with better planning.
As you can see by my ratings other than that everything else was really good.
We went to Prism to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our first visit there and it could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The food was excellent, the ambiance was terrific, and the service was great. We'll be putting it on our regular rotation.
The experience was absolutely Great from the moment we sat down until the wonderful deserts were served, exceptional all around for food and service!
Got the porterhouse steak for 2 medium and let me tell you it was made P-E-R-F-E-C-T amazing flavor
I will try Prizm again. The meal was okay. I liked the restaurant.
After reading the reviews I was expecting to be wowed. We were not. While the service was outstanding, the food lacked anything extraordinary. We started with the Rock Shrimp app and oysters in a half shell. It was just ok. We also ordered the porterhouse steak, the presentation was beautiful and the steak was prepared exactly as I liked it. Unfortunately it wasn’t anything extraordinary, like $85 extraordinary. The restaurant was good, not great. I will not be going back.
The dinner at Prism was great. My husband had the bone in Prime Rib and I had the Halibut. Both entrees were amazing. Syed our waiter provided excellent service.
Prism is my wife and I favorite steakhouse downtown and we usually always love going there and telling other people about it as well but it let us down this past time. My steak was over cooked and my wife’s was way undercooked not to mention all you could taste on the potatoes was cheese it was too much. Not sure what’s going on but hopefully it’s a one off because if I hadn’t been there before I wouldn’t go back.
My wife and I have ate here for our anniversary for the last 3 years. We love it!
I went to this restaurant based on this app recommendations as it was my 3rd anniversary and I wanted something special. At first, it took us 15 minutes to know the place as it was inside Detroit Casino. It was my fault that I didn't call them immediately.
The place was great but not for young people, most of the people there were kind of old and I am fine with it, there was a jazz music and lady singing with it.
We ordered Salad, salmon, and cat fish, they were delicious and the price is quite moderate, the only problem I had with the salad as it doesn't suit the price, the salad was about one tomato cut in four pieces, for real!
The fish and Salmon were great, no complain at all.
We ordered the Carmel desert as well, but it was too small for there price.
Syed was a great host and very kind steak was great it was a good night
We dined there on Labor Day. Upon entering we were greeted by the host who walked us to our table and proceeded to open and place the napkin across my lap. Another employee brought us warmed moist hand cloths, a very nice touch! Our server was Abby who was wonderful. She took our drink order and was knowledgeable when it came to the dinner menu. My date ordered the 8oz. filet, while I had the braised beef short ribs. Both entrees were exceptional. We shared a Caesar Salad and the Gouda Mashed Potatoes. Again, both were delicious. Abby brought us a bread basket and upon request, olive oil and freshly shaved parmesan cheese. We shared a bottle of Jordan Chardonnay. Upon refilling my glass, noticed a fruit fly swimming in the wine. Hey, it happens! When I brought it to Abby's attention, she alerted a man who might have been a manager. He apologized and returned to our table with bottles of "top shelf" chardonnay allowing us to do a "tasting" and select whatever we wanted to replace the "bugged" glass. The team at Prism bent over backwards to make our evening wonderful. We will definitely return, and highly recommend Prism to others. After only one visit, we rate it as one of our favorite dining experiences!
Overpriced bad food skip it we had a hair in the coffee and menu descriptions was inaccurate DRY pasta
Only think I didn’t care for was the live entertainment.
Took my 94 yr old Mother and her CNA as part of a “girls’ weekend”
We were a little dissapointed in our experience. First of all if you advertise as a fine dining restaurant, you should enforce the dress code appropriately. A table next to us was seated and they were wearing " sweat suit " style shorts and a stained T shirt. Secondly the service was mediocre, our waitress was nice and friendly and knowledgeable, how ever she was over sat and could not even make it back to our table. For our meals I ordered the Lamb Chops, and felt like It tasted like I was eating SALT on a stick.. the meat was salty and the seasoning was even more salty, overal it was way too overwhelming. We watched the manager walk and greet every table except ours, which upset me because I would have liked to enlighten him on our experience. I will not be returning to this establishment.
The food was really good but the service was not. We came because a friend was singing there that night and picked a table both close enough to hear her, but far enough to be able to talk at our table. As we started to order items, I realized that we had no napkins. Then I realized we had no salt and pepper. After our food came, we hardly saw our waiter. My husband thought he had a larger table he was handling over in the bar area - and I think he knew this because he got up to go to the bar to get us drinks, because we hadn’t seen the waiter in so long. The food was good and not crazy in price. So if you are looking for a nice meal for not a ton of money but don’t mind spotty service, then I’d recommend Prism. If you appreciate good service, I’d suggest going elsewhere.
This place is awesome. The food is great. Service awesome. It's a gem right in the heart of greek town! I will definitely be back!
Had a amazing evening! Everything was great except the lobster. It wasn’t horrible but for the price I was expecting a lot better than what I received.
Our server was excellent when we walked in the room everyone welcomed us with warm arms. It was my fiancé birthday and the experience was absolutely perfect. The piano player was excellent as well. Before the end of the night our server (can’t remeber his name, I’m so sorry I think it started with an S) offered us desert after our meal (the steak for two which was superb we almost passed out lol). A cute brownie Sunday with happy birthday written in chocolate. It literally made me tear up how great this experience was for the both of us especially him. So thank you again and we will recommend and be back ourselves. Please take care and god bless. Thanks so much again
Wonderful food, attentive servers and very nice table display.
It was our first time dining and we had such a great experience! Lisa, the hostess, was very friendly and welcoming! Our server, Saaid, recommended a great app and wine. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful meal cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, quiet (except for wierd guy seemingly having a speakerphone confrence call in the middle of the resturaunt) allowing for a quiet conversation. Wait staff was fantastic, catered to every need before I even asked. Excellent experience.
My friends love it, and i will bring them back., also my daughter and her husban when they come to town.
They own the Family Diner (Merks) at the airport in Munsie, In.
The food was great! The pricing was midrange for fine dining. The wine list was spectacular.
The service and food was excellent! The salmon dish was delicious!! We will be back.
I believe waiter name was Sayad. Excellent and super nice !
Everything was awesome! We will be back !! We loved the food and our waitress was great.
Everything was perfect, the entertainment was wonderful. The food and the service was great.
The overall experience was good. Food was great. And the host who seated us was awesome everytime we go there she always greets us with a a smile.
Sean is a outstanding waiter , you should be proud to have him as an employee
The atmosphere at Prism was very cool, our server was fantastic and the food was outstaning. They also had an extensive wine list. We are from out of town, but will definitely return when we are in Detroit.
From the moment we walked in, chavonne the hostess wowed us. We were running a bit late due to tiger traffic and she assured us it was fine. She asked if we’ve ever dined there before and we said no. She went on to explain how we’d love it and some of her favorites. Right away our server Shaun came up to the table and explained the menu and gave his reccomendations. The server assistant was not far behind as she brought out water bread and butter. Everything tasted excellent. We are very picky when it comes to restaurants and wanted to give this one a try. The bread was warm and the butter was softened. We started with the heirloom tomato salad which was refreshing and topped with delicious balsamic. We then had a bone in ribeye and a mushroom risotto with the Gouda mashed potatoes and the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection. The manager came to feet our table and ask how everything was tasting. We told him how we were impressed with everything from the moment we walked in. We ended with a chocolate mousse prism. It was the perfect end to the evening and we will most definitely be back soon.
