Stay at the Rimrock for girl’s getaway weekend and didn’t want to drink and drive so we reserved a table here . It was very convenient.
However, we had to wait 45 minutes for our table even though we had reservations. Their excuse was that the party before us had not left. We ended up drinking at the pub waiting for our table.
Manager apologized but didn’t offer anything us anything. We wanted to eat and go outside to enjoy the fire, obviously because we got late seated we didn’t make it outside in time .
The dining room seemed so dated, but was clean and the staff were so friendly. A few plants and some nice tables with arrangements on them, would take away some of the starkness. That is just my opinion. All in all, it was a good evening.
Recently we had dinner at the Primrose as we were staying at the Rimrock. Service was very good with COVID protocols being followed. The scallops and garden salad were both very good, as was the shrimp appetizer (which was excellent). While the ratatouille was good, it had an awful lot of onion. Overall a pleasant experience.
The scallop appetizer was absolutely delicious. However, I ordered the hand crafted linguine and did not enjoy this dish at all. Service was impeccable however.
Lobster bisque very salty. Inedible. The rest of the meal was mediocre at best. All too salty. Overpriced.
The view is unparalleled and the service was excellent.
Nice views, great meal and service. Had the steak and smoked salmon appetizer. All was excellent.
We waited an hour and 45minutes for the main and when the fish arrived it was raw on the inside. They took it off the bill, but it was a very disappointing experience.
Casual dining is not reflected in the prices! Something as simple as place mats would make a huge difference in the ambience and overall experience.
This is an amazing place. There are views here that rival anywhere in the WORLD! The food quality is Michelin able!!! But, the delivery is suspect! They need to teach the art of great service to make this place stand out. Will be back but with a choice of dining ! Still worth it!
Our dinner was ok at the primrose. We dined with our children who are 12 and 14 celebrating a birthday. There was zero effort made to make my son feel special. It’s very expensive and not worth the money. Didn’t even offer desert to the birthday boy. Not a great experience. I will not return.
All I can say is our service was impeccable. Thank you PJ for the great service and going out of your way to make our night that much “extra special”
The Primrose should be proud to have you represent them .
It was a bit noisy because there were several large parties also having dinner at the same Tim’s.
Service and food was great. Our server Matthew was attentive, but in the The food was plenty, very well presented and tasted amazing.
Food was way overpriced and it felt like a two star restaurant. I ordered the black truffle linguini and it was floating in oil. We ordered the cotton candy dessert thinking it would be a modern twist on a well known classic. It looked as though someone scrunched it with their hands. We could see finger indents. Not worth it.
Our evening was amazing. The Staff very friendly food was amazing. Our waiter was the Best he made our evening even better, if we lived closer we would visit the restaurant more. Love Loved our evening. Thankyou so much
Amazing food, great service, and an incredible view!
We had to wait 45 minutes extra even though we already had a reservation from open table. Portions were way too small for the price point. Our server Mitch was amazing. Only good thing about the experience was him.
It was a great place with good food but the servers were a little novice and the tenderloin was slightly undercooked. I would definitely eat there again but it might have been a couple of rookie servers..
Horrible food service. Exceptionally late and not edible when served. Follow up options were never delivered.
Great meal with beautiful view!!
The staff were very courteous and helpful during our mealtime.
Retirement dinner celebration. Was a perfect evening and the food was really good
We enjoyed celebrating our 31st anniversary at the Primrose restaurant this past Saturday evening, January 18, 2020. Our waiter PJ was exceptionally attentive and informative. We were seated next to the kitchen door and were disrupted by kitchen staff. When we brought this to the attention of PJ, he immediately involved the maître d' Chas. Chas handled the situation in a very professional manner and was a true gentleman throughout the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service by Chas and PJ was exceptional. I would highly recommend the restaurant to all.
New Year’s Eve. Was a fixed menu. For the amount of $135. + drinks I thought the food would have been exceptional. It was ok and some of the courses of the 4 course meal I just didn’t care for. Waiter was very good and the room is pretty.
3 of the 5 of us had the seafood buffet, which was terribly disappointing. Not a huge selection for $55 per person. Besides the raw oysters, we were not impressed by anything on the seafood buffet. Further, the desserts on the buffet bar seemed like they were leftovers from Christmas dinner as they were all dried out and gross. For example, the rice crispy Christmas trees were hard enough to break a tooth. The other two in our party had the beef tenderloin and the chicken breast, neither of which were outstanding. Towards the end of our meal we went 30 minutes without seeing our waiter. We would not eat at the primrose again.
Good menu choices and very well prepared dishes. Cracking bottle of Zinfandel.
Always amazing! I brought family in from Calgary to enjoy the pasta night and they loved their meal.
We took family there for birthday dinner and everything was outstanding. Best value for a meal in the Bow Valley. Service was courteous and friendly and the quality of food was amazing. Will go back
Always a pleasure to take our family. The staff are always kind and helpful, and the food is consistently good.
I have dined here numerous times, but the attention to service on this occasion, was exceptional.
Everything was just lovely for my mom's 85th dinner. Food was absolutely delicious. My daughter and I had the salmon and my mom had the steak. Although the noise level was really loud by 715 730 around the buffet area and lots of traffic back and forth ... so we were glad we booked for 615...maybe we should have had a table away from the buffet area. Note for next time. Other than that Thank You.
The salad bar and dessert bar was amazing. The pasta buffet was also amazing. However, the chef added way too much salt in my pasta.
Service was great. The servers were cery attentive: cleared the plates with good timing and came around to refill our water glasses when it was low.
It was our last meal in Banff and definitely the best meal we had on the trip. Just delicious scallops to start and salmon as main and rich chocolate dessert.
We also had great breakfasts there-nice selection of foods
Mitch was fantastic! Made our weekend away special when our first restaurant choice was under construction. Made our dinner feel intentional, romantic and spontaneous. Very grateful we had the experience!
Wonderful service and amazing food! We had a great anniversary dinner. Thank you all for a spectacular evening!
Love the view , the food and the service ❤️
The services were very attentive and friendly. The strawberry margarita was nice. The offering of cucumber, lemon and lime slices in the water was a nice touch! The appetizer scallops were fantastic. The entree lamb loin serving was quite small and the outside of the meat was coated with charcoal which gave a bitter taste. I believe I would have enjoyed more if I had selected a different entree. The ambiance was cosy and quiet until a very loud group of four occupied a table nearby. Honestly I was quite surprised that they were not requested to tone down their voices and even more so when the manager were involved in the very loud conversation.
Excellent service with great views, food was good with a creative menu.
Love that they offered assorted sliced cucumbers lime and lemon with water. Great views and tasty entrees. Yes
