Primo Ratings and Reviews
Imagine my delight at finding an exquisite restaurant attached to a hotel. The service was impeccable. The waitress poured a special (off the menu) vintage wine for us. There were some surprise ingredients (ramps)I had never heard of that were delicious. The food was AMAZING! I went there a second night because it was such a special find.
The setting and service were wonderful. All staff members were pleasant and made for an enjoyable evening. The food was horrible the pasta sauce gritty and the meats - TOUGH (difficult to cut and I could hear our guests trying to chew them). Sadly, we will not return. Wonderful business setting.
The service at the Primo was very attentive and consistent. The appetizers we chose were excellent but one of our entrees was not of high quality. Overall I would recommend Primo for business or family dinners. Casual atmosphere but very nice appointments makes for a very comfortable dinner experience.
We just LOVE eating at Primo's! The food is delicious, great wine list, draft Peroni, housemade Lemoncello and wonderful service all make it a GREAT eating experience! When we are lucky enough to stay at JW Marriott in Orlando, we make reservation for Primo right. Reafter hotel reservation is made! GREAT food and drink!!
My best friend celebrated his 56 birthday with Primo on Saturday and he commented on how it was his best birthday ever. Each time the staff walked by our table, they would say Happy Birthday Rob and he truly enjoyed the personal greetings. The food and the wine was outstanding. I've already told him that I want to spend my birthday, 3 Oct, with Primo. Excellent food, excellent service and very professional staff. It was a pleasure. See you in Oct.
Expected a Foodie Dining experience and it didn't really make it...food was good, not great and expensive since we were paying for the Foodie experience! The Carrot Cake dessert needs help! It is gluten free and a laugh as far as real carrot cake is concerned.
I thought the food was really impressive. I particularly enjoyed the duck confit pizza. The service was impeccable. I will say that it was frustrating that my first three wine choices were not available. If you are going to have such an extensive list, you need to make more regular updates.
This is an excellent restaurant! The oysters Rockefeller were very good, and the restaurant prepared a vegetable appetizer that wasn't on the menu. Our entrees - there were 3 of us - were all among the best we have had. We had different fish choices including scallops, salmon, and the special sea bass. The desserts were terrific. The banana bread pudding was not a traditional bread pudding, but it was really good. They also put together a combination of requested berries and sorbet which was a treat. Our server Rebecca was well informed, helpful, attentive, and full of personality - in a good way!
What needs to be said about a dinner that begins with exquisitely prepared "fois gras two ways"? The attention to every detail of the food was complete - flavor, texture, aroma, presentation - all exquisite. Service was attentive, efficient and warm. Our server had an amazing knowledge of both food and wine. It was lovely to sit in the gorgeous setting with a view of the open kitchen - and no noise or tumult from this kitchen at all. The sense of harmony amongst staff is evident, as is the universal care for it's food and patrons. We were addressed by name throughout the meal, a courtesy rarely afforded first time diners.
We dine here each year on our anniversary. The food did not disappoint. I think they may have been a little short on wait staff because the service was a little off though still very good. We will continue to visit at least yearly. I am giving it 5 star rating in spite of the off service because I am confident it was only for the evening.
If you like the luxury of a three hour gourmet experience, Primo's is for you. Food was outstanding, and service just as classy. Hubby and I split the antipasti misti (duck prosciutto, calabrese salami, soppressata, cheeses including a puff pastry with tallegio inside, housemade caponata and pickles, parmesan crisps) and then an appetizer portion of housemade rigatoni bolognese. Both were excellent. I had a snapper with pearl coucous, clams, arugula pesto. DH had duck w farro, jus, and vegetables. Attention to fresh ingredients was evident. Good wine list. Housemade limoncello! Beautiful quiet dining room. Would definitely go back on next trip to Orlando.
We have enjoyed this restaurant for many years prior - this was a disappointing experience. We always make a special trip to eat there...
The staff made us feel as if we were at a burn/churn restaurant - more than 8 times they tried to remove our dishes before we were finished. We almost felt as if we had to protect our dishes from the staff. The pasta did not match the sauce - it was too heavy and chewy like calamari vs. pasta.
Picked this restaurant for Xmax eve dinner. Having looked at the menu the night before I knew what I wanted. What I didn't plan on was the Chef changing the menu. When I go to a restaurant that has no appealing appetizers and only one, possibly two entrees I would eat than I am disappointed . The chef mixed too many items together- grouper with clams, etc. No simple Italian dishes ( and I thought this was an Italian restaurant). I did end up with Scottish Salmon, and a crab cake which was well prepared but would not have been my first choice.
From the moment you valet the car and walk into the JW Marriott you know what awaits you, first class dinning and service. The hostesses' warm smiles greet you with the air of anticipation of a wonderful experience to come. Though the second half of our party was running late, thirty-six minutes to be exact, the hostess assured us and checked on us at the bar where we waited. Speaking of the bar(s), while waiting we had the pleasure of being introduced to the menu by our bartender all while having the great service that Primo is known for over some excellent cocktails. Once the remaining members of the party arrived we were treated to a very memorable diner and some great wine. The excellent food was matched by the great service. I would sa
We ordered the following from the menu:1. Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras two ways2. Oysters three ways3. Charcuterie plate4. Sauteed scaloppini of Pork "Saltimbocca"Honestly, after reading all of the reviews from Open Table and Yelp, I was expecting much more. I think the Primo restaurants in the other cities must be better than the Orlando location. I was pretty disappointed in all of the dishes. The foie gras appetizer's portion was big but lacked real favor. The oysters wasn't as tasty even with the pork belly on top. And the last two dishes were not as notable. With the restaurant being inside of JW Marriott, I expected much better food.
Disappointing.Nothing special. A very loud noisy nondescript hotel restaurant. No uniqueness to the ambience. Appetizers best part of meal. Original wine request could not be found while all wainting to toast a birthday. Pasta, black in color and dry. chocolate desert just ordinary. We all had a better lunch with ahi tuna etc at a golf club earlier in the day. Very pricey. Would not return. not recommend
Our experience at Primos was anything but fine dining. First let me say this is not a couples restaurant. It is more geared for conventioneers staying at the Marriot. Very noisy, slow service and zero ambiance. I ordered pork scaloppine which was over cooked and tough as shoe leather. The potatoes underneath it were extremely salty. My husband had the lamb shank which was to have been marinated 36 hours but it had little flavor although it was a least tender. We couldn't wait to leave. For the money you are better off walking to Normans for a fab meal and beyond great service.
First time at Primo. Had reservation for our anniversary and ended up getting there a couple minutes late. Waited a few minutes for table to be prepared, but no complaints from us or them. Table was perfect and service was amazing. Server was very knowledgeable of menu, wine list, and restaurant. We shared the pizza which was the best we've ever had. She got the Pork Saltimbocca which was filling and flavorful. She loved it. I got the steak which was perfectly cooked, and had amazing flavors. The fresh produce from their garden blew us away in these dishes. We shared the Zeppoles for dessert and they were melt-in-your-mouth good, literally. We dine like this once a year, and Primo's menu and drinks were unique and raised the bar!
