Primo Grill was amazing! We sat in the bar and had amazing service from everyone.
Great Mother's Day dinner! Early season salmon, lovely Spring pasta dish, and welcoming service.
Great food, but a little pricey, overall I enjoyed our visit.
Server/bartender was very knowledgeable but forgot that we ordered 2 mimosas. The Huevos Rancheros was just perfect and they made my mimosa with real orange, a little pricey. Mango loaf was good too. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean even after coming at 2pm on Mother's Day.
yes this place has top notch food and excellent service. a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion with local and fresh seasonal offerings! Enjoy.
Mother's Day brunch at Primo featured both breakfast and lunch selections on the menu. The food and service were both excellent.
Menu choices and service is always exceptional at Primo.
One of our favorite places to go!
Wow wow wow- we honestly can't wait to eat here again. Everything from the strong delicious drinks (he had a manhattan and I had a Paloma) both tasted better here than at other restaurants, started with the calamari which was so creamy and with the bread to soak up the sauce was amazing, then I had the grilled salmon special which was melt in your mouth amazing and he had the steak which I could tell he loved since he wasn't talking and pretty much said it was perfect. For dessert we had the panna cotta and oh my god it tasted like heaven. Everything from our server to the open window ambience, everything was superb and we have declared this spot for date nights since now we are dedicated to trying the whole menu. A must try for sure!
Great food. Great service. Salmon special was great. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, drinks and desserts. No misses.
Things we ate: Brussels, Calamari and Cauliflower apps, rack of lamb, margherita pizza, halibut special, salmon special, beef tenderloin special.
Drinks: Margarita, Elderflower Sour and Rhubarb.
Desserts: coconut cake, sticky toffee pudding, bourbon chocolate cake, hazelnut brownie. All good!
Loved the food! The service was outstanding.
Our second time here and glad that a restaurant cooking quality food still seats people as late as 10 PM. Between the three of us we had a halibut special, steak, and a pasta dish all of which were prepared well and tasted great. Also found some reasonably price wines on their last. Will definitely continue returning here
We've been coming to Primo Grill for several years and are consistently served delicious food with excellent service...we always recommend it as a great place to go!
Really enjoyed our evening there. Didn't feel rushed, appreciate that. Everything was delicious and the wait staff were great at not interrupting us but making sure we were taken care of. Sometimes the noise level in restaurants is so unpleasant, but even with this being Dine Out for HIV, the noise level was OK enough. This is a really uplfiting place to dine in Tacoma, and we appreciate it.
Food and service at primo was great as always!
The Brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had. Our meals were perfect. I had amazing halibut. My husband and our "grandson" had the lamb which they raved about. Our son loved his steak...and everyone mmmmmed over their desserts. We'll go back. They NEED a sign on their building facing 6th.
Primo Grill continues to exceed expectations. I was disappointed that they ran out of the Tenderlion at 530 on Easter Sunday, but the on menu Rib Eye was excellent. My wife really enoyed the Halibut special.
Primo never disappoints. Food, drinks, price point, we appreciate. Hospitality and professional service is also appreciated. Keep your quality standards and consider a standard fish entrée for those who want assurance that there is a non-meat-based go to menu item. Love the Rhubarb Collins and Olympic Mountain sorbet!
With so many good restaurants in Tacoma it is hard to pick a favorite. But Primo Grill definitely tops the list. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave the whole experience is spot on! Great food, great service and great drinks.
We were warned that Primo might be too noisy but we went on a quiet Sunday night and had a wonderful evening. The brussel sprouts were fantastic, perfectly seasoned and done. We were told they were deep fried.
We love this restaurant! The service and food are always excellent. Our fave in Tacoma :-)
Very disappointed in the food. Service was fine and ambiance is great, but the food was a huge disappointment.
Recently moved to the area and would highly recommend Primo. Have enjoyed everything we have had there...an overall great dining experience!
Each and every time, everything is Absolutely Amazing! Will be back for sure!
Primo Grill is a consistently wonderful dining experience. The food is always good, the cocktail list inventive and the service excellent. We dine at Primo on every visit to Tacoma.
My wife's meal was outstanding, mine was good but needed more seasoning. Drinks were great as was the service.
We had a great experience at Primo for our party of 5! Everyone enjoyed their meal, the appetizers were a HUGE hit (get the calamari!!) and their drink menu had something for everyone. We will definitely be back!
Atmosphere was lively and fresh, and consistently busy. Make a reservation!
Food menu is beautifully curated and the burrata and tapenade as well as the fried cauliflower starters we ordered were delicious and so flavorful and definitely left us anxious and excited for our main dishes. Prices were on par with neighboring restaurants and on par for the quality of food and service. We had a very attentive server, and although he seemed busy it did not put a damper on our visit.
I would highly recommend the Primo Grill and I would 100% go back to try out some of their other dishes.
I was absolutely blown away by how incredible Primo was! Perfect for special occasions, date nights, or just a divine meal out. The staff was so attentive and friendly, and went above and beyond to help us get the perfect table for my Mom's birthday so we could enjoy the full ambiance. The wait staff was kind, easy going, knowledgeable, and great energy without hovering. The food was phenomenal - bold flavors, colorful presentation, and perfect portion sizes. We wanted to eat absolutely every single thing on the menu (we tried!). Cannot wait to come back again for another memorable experience. Cannot recommend enough!
Great food and service! Just a loud environment!
My birthday with the girls
Excellent waitress and service
Excellent selections on menu
Loved having happy hour menu in bar
A great Tacoma restaurant! I left feeing very well fed, with a real variety of flavors—not just a slab of salmon plus broccolini and baked potato. Nice depth of flavor.
I never get tired of writing a review for Primo Grill: that's because each time I eat at Primo, I have an outstanding experience and it just keeps getting better. This time, I had arrived after a long and traffic laden trip from Seatac, not in high spirits, yet was warmly welcomed by Jacqueline, Shelby and Rachael (and others) and had Allison as our waitress. By the time I had enjoyed a great glass of wine, had a fresh salad and the fish of the evening, I was revived and smiling. What traffic? Primo always nourishes: the wine and food, of course, but the people and upbeat atmosphere remind me of what is important in life - and to celebrate it. I can't wait to return. Keep up the great work, Primo!
As always, food and drink were exceptional. Was disappointed I had to wait 35 min behind my reservation time of 615.
Sean took excellent care of us. We were there before a special event at the Tacoma Dome. The place was hopping with great energy. Food and drinks were delivered in a timely fashion. Everything we ate and drank was fantastic from the succulent prawn appetizer, tapenade with an ample portion of burrata cheese to the special main course of delicious Halibut. Never felt rushed even with a bustling crowd coming in. My first time to Primo - won’t be my last.
Gave this place great review last weekend. Drove 45 minutes to eat here again tonight and had a completely different experience. Likely not going to return based off the service (or lack there of) when something wasn’t correct (zero bacon on Brussel sprouts which came out as part of a giant batch to fulfill multiple orders) and that HH is bar only. Would have sat in the bar had I known. Mysterious $3 upcharge for either extra Carmel sauce or ice cream with dessert. Who knows. Mentioned to both the server and owner disappointment in the Brussel sprouts, to which neither did anything. Crappy that you can’t adjust the auto gratuity in this instance. Doesn’t warrant servers to give premium service.
Consistently high quality food and service. Sustainable, local ingredients. World-class chef. First-rate front of the house staff.
Amazing experience! Will be going back for sure!
Food was good, but they changed the menu and some of our favorite dishes were no longer available.
Celebrated our 30th Anniversary for dinner. Owner/Jaqueline was a pleasant greeter, sat us at a table they had preset with flowers and wished us a happy anniversary (picked up on from booking info). Flowers were not on any other table, so it was specially set. Our server, Anh, was pleasant and helpful, very knowledgeable about the menu and preparation, as well as wine paring. We had a fried cauliflower appetizer and warm vegetable salad for starters - all excellently prepared. Main dish was a fillet mignon for my wife and rib steak for me, both had complimentary vegetables and potatoes. Main dish was prepared perfectly as ordered (medium rare and medium). Chef/Owner Charlie made occasional dining room visits to meet and greet guests, providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant itself is not a fancy, romantic place. But it is friendly and inviting. Lots of attention is placed on the food -from purchasing ingredients, preparing it to presentation on your plate. Each menu item has it's own unique flavor you won't find elsewhere.
Food and drinks are always delicious and it's a great spot for a romantic dinner or meal with girlfriends!
