Be sure to have your seat by 8.30pm for the live music act is due to hit the stage. The DJ gets the place jumping at 11pm with the latest tunes. This contemporary London bar on the South Bank is ideally located near the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall.
Webcamera for drinks and had some food. Amazing atmosphere and ambiance. Nice lounge chairs and tables. Lots of drinks to choose from and great cocktails,
The service here is so poor. The waitress was extremely rude and rather indifferent, I asked her for an additional menu since she gave us one to share between 3 people and she shrugged her shoulders like I had asked for something extraordinary. The prices are over priced for the quality, a poor quality bottle of Prosecco is £40, and despite getting two bottles they kept trying to rush us out. It was very rude. On top of this they expect you to pay service charge for their rather low quality service !
I don’t think we will be coming here again.
Decor is nice. More of a transient bar for travellers at the hotel. Great drinks. Service was slow and painful in explaining multiple times. Food didn't look great. No live music witnesses the main reason for coming.
Absolutely loved it here as always! Not loud, attentive personnel, amazing food, service and cocktails - will go again!
Oh my goodness.... I love this bar BUT the entertainment has gone DOWN it was like being at Butlins. Please have Jazz or Pianist. It would be more fitting.
We were a group of 12 who came for a coffee and catch up. I had booked on OpenTable. When we arrived, the staff did not seem interested in greeting us and I had to find a waiter who seemed irritated. I explained I had booked and he eventually found my name but then said the table was for 2 people. I showed him my booking and he agreed to seat us. It took a while to get enough 'pouf' stools together to make a big enough grouping and then half of us were perched quite uncomfortably. The drinks came in twos and threes and it took half an hour before everyone had a coffee. The drinks were not hot and were fairly expensive for a small cup of luke warm coffee. The atmosphere was OK and, once we were seated and had drinks, we were able to have a good catch up as planned. We wouldn't book to come back, but perhaps the staff would prefer we didn't anyway - it did feel like we were quite an irritation for them, despite the bar area being pretty quiet on a Wednesday lunchtime.
A very chilled bar with great music. I only had one cocktail which was a bit overpriced considering it wasn't very big and had no kick at all. But the wine list, whilst not that long, covers most different wallet sizes. Been twice. First time we had the Asian sharing platter. Not good value for money as there wasn't very much to share and it was like something I could have bought in a packet at Iceland. The second time the Club Sandwich was very good and more than enough for two people. In summay, nice atmosphere, quality musicians, seating comfortably apart so no overcrowding. Recommend wine and a sandwich as opposed to the expensive cocktail and sharing platter alternative.
Highly recommended for a great night out. Live performers were great. Service exeptional. Not my first time but our group love the place.
its write up was not what it was... a dull hotel reception bar... poor ambience
we left immediately
We felt the evening was a special one. Lovely ambiance, good food and reasonably priced drinks. The group were very talented which added to the whole experience
The best part obviously was the singer. Primo Bar’s area is very cozy and nice. Comfy seats, olive that we ordered we’re not good. The asian waitress that served us seemed annoyed, unwelcoming and cold. Sometimes she would ignore guests by walking past them. At one point 6-7 irish men joined the bar by ruining the atmosphere (we felt like in a pub). We weren’t the only ones who felt annoyed by them. Shame that nothing was done about it since obviously they ruined one hour of pleasure listening to the singer. Overall, would come back for the music and ambience, but some improvements can be easily implemented.
Fab place to spend a Saturday night! Great singer, good table service and friendly vibe!
We were refused a table that we wanted as it was reserved
Nobody sat there at all while we were there.
Had to ask for salt and pepper
No atmosphere
Will stay at the hotel again
But Go out for dinner
The drinks are quite expensive.
The band (MK and The Misters) were excellent; worth it for the music.
It was a delightful evening, the live band of the evening suited the atmosphere and the service was at very high standard. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway.
I booked a stay in the hotel for my partner and I for this 30th birthday. Best decision I ever made. Even with or without london eye view the rooms are incredible, staff from the bar and restaurant are incredible! We really enjoy our stay here especially the breakfast, lunch or just for dinner or just mid night snacks are do die for! Thanks chef!!!!!
My daughter and I had the Paw Patrol afternoon tea. Amazing service and really lovely set up. Shame it is only temporary as it would be nice to see it as a regular event.
We went for paw patrol afternoon tea. It was average. Quite a soulless bar, but nice staff. Might be more ambient in the evening.
We attended the paw patrol afternoon tea and had a great time
We went for the Paw Patrol afternoon tea and it was fantastic! Great value for money and they really looked after the kids. Thank you.
Nice bar with good atmosphere for live music.
Food service was an absolute disgrace! Ordered G&T with slimline tonic! What is lemon tonic asked the waiter!!!
Ordered sharing platter. After 30 minutes, we had to ask for food again. Apologies offered and given a free bowl of olives! Hmmm! Food arrived 40 minutes from original order being taken. The food was great, very tasty and fresh! Ordered 2 Jack D’s and coke for night cap! Only one arrived ?? Head barman spotted our frustration, came and apologised and explained the staff were new, foreign and under training! I think they need more! He did reduce the bill slightly and offered to take off the included 10% service charge, but it was still added st the till !!!!
Pity as the live music was very good, Mandy and the Mood Swings! Very good! They were main reason for staying until the end.
Doubt if we’ll be back
The Paw patrol experience was a let down, it looked nothing like the pictures & wasn’t a child friendly environment. We expected a room not the actual bar where we could hear business meetings. It’s took 5 members of staff to finally direct us as no one had a clue about this. And when we were taken to our seats nothing was said apart from please be seated & we just sat & waited for the rack to be delivered. A place mat & edible stickers is what I could’ve done at home, you advertised scones there were none just muffins & has any of the staff tried the layered jelly? It was so sour & other parents were all in agreement. Also there were fruit flies hovering around spent my time flapping them away & this is inside! It’s all laced with sugar but no drinks were provided & had to be bought separately. Luckily enough my son is a bit young to remember this disappointment unlike the other family who were evidently upset & left most of of their food untouched. Had you set this up like the paw patrol play room then that would’ve been the experience but this had no atmosphere what’s so ever & I feel I wasted my money on this
We had a brilliant evening. We were only going to stay for a drink but we loved the acoustic duo - Niixo or Nicoletto they were so talented and he was an amazing singer so we stayed until late! We enjoyed trying the different sharing platters too - a great night!
Wonderful environment. We had a fantastic evening and we were looked after so professionally by Alex making our Birthday treat so very special.
After so many years of visiting, the Primo has maintained its service, Entertainment a style. The whole Experiance is one I would recommend to anyone.
Alex thanks again.
Very nice, good music, tasteful food and good drinks.
Great ambiance on a Monday night with live music. Very attentive staff and the nicest whisky sour my husband has ever had!
Great cocktails and atmosphere, and the live band were fantastic. Not overpowering.
Prices were a little steep but not excessively so.
The service was excellent so I don't object to the service charge being included in the bill, but 12.5% is rather high.
The bar is beautiful, with stylish furniture and nicely laid out. The drinks were great and the chairs comfortable. The only slight negative is that despite booking a space for 5pm, no one came to take our orders once seated, despite been told we’d have a waiter. In the end, we waited 20mins and then asked to be served, which was a bit of a let down. Overall though, staff were friendly, and it’s a cool venue.
Was staying at the hotel with my husband and really like the idea of the love band while we had drinks and food. Had a lovely lady called Maria looking after our table who was very helpful while I went back and forth over the menu trying to find something I could eat. Also came over to see if everything was ok even when it got very busy. Will be going again.
Don’t allow people to bring children to a cocktail bar...
Our seats were at the bar area. Not easy to eat a proper meal where the table is knee height. Overpriced bar food.
Food was amazing, drinks were well prepared and the service was excellent
First time at Primo Bar. Excellent entertainment. Very nice surroundings staff were nice and helpful. Would recommend a night at Primo Bar
It’s a hotel bar in a sleek, corporate hotel in a desolate spot by the Thames. The singer & musician were good, but the atmosphere was what one would expect in an impersonal hotel bar. The wait staff seemed exhausted. If you’re not a hotel guest, don’t bother.
This was a described as a hip and trendy bar, but in fact it's just a hotel bar! The Park Plaza is just a bog standard conference hotel. Sorry Primo but you're not being honest with your advertising.
Amazing music, only low table to eat food so very impractical for a curry with rice, naan and salad! Got a back ache!
staff really unmotivated - only a very friendly blonde waitress made our stay agreeable / thanks to Maria!
food was good but if you don‘t feel welcome, you don‘t enjoy it...
Absolutely enjoyed our time at Primo bar Park Plza. Lovely place, food, live music, and the service. Will be coming back definitely.
My honey and I were visiting from the states and found Primo by chance (because they have live music)...the band alone made every minute there amazing. The food and drinks were a bonus!
Took my team here after dinner for drinks and to listen to the live music. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the singing.
