The food and menu options were very good and well executed. Service was attentive. Always eat here while at the resort.
Really lovely restaurant, service and delicious food and wine!
The Marriott Starr Pass Resort is expansive and lovely. The view from Primo is wonderful. The service we received was exceptional. We enjoyed wine flights which made the experience better. The food was outstanding. Would definitely recommend Primo. It was a wonderful dining experience.
Primo is a fabulous restaurant! It is located in the J.W. Marriott, need I say more? Cindy did an excellent job as our server. She answered all of our questions and was warm and friendly! The food was out of this world delicious! We highly recommend Primo.
Noise level was very high. Food was fair but pricy. Waitress was very helpful and courteous
The food quality was good; the brussel sprout recipe was outstanding. I would suggest the nuts be served course ground. We had reservations at 5:30 but arrived to an empty reception area with three other couples waiting. That can be improved I'm sure. The table was not set or cleaned from the prior folks. That was clunky. I believe the receptionist felt pressure to get us sat down, but it would have been better to wait the 2-3 minutes to clean up. The busser did a very good job of being light hearted and wonderfully helpful while we got through that uncomfortable period. All in all, I'd recommend with caveats.
We see the same hostess and servers. That is awesome. Our server was attentive and paid attention. She went out of her way to make us happy and enjoy our experience.
The food was excellent and service by Kirby outstanding! The cannelloni is a must!
Food choices and preparation were very good. Desserts were very special. Wine and mixed drink prices were high.
Food was very good and portions generous. Music was kind of loud and not appropriate for the atmosphere. Music should be soft and skip the pop music scene. The waitress was outstanding. Her name was either Veronica or Valerie. The music was so loud I could not make out what she said, but she could not have done a better job.
The service was outstanding and I have never has food as favorable as I had at JW Marriott Starr Pass. Everything was presented perfectly and all the dishes were prepared to perfection.
Really good dinner! Spent New Years Eve with my family and everyone enjoyed their dinner.
Through my business travel, I have the opportunity to dine at some fine restaurants. Rarely do I find order three dishes that are all creative, unique and delicious. Superb.
Food was so good we cleaned our plates. I had the gnocchi, wife had the venison. If we went back on a Friday we might try the steak special for the spectacle of the thing. Dessert was even better than the dinner with chocolate cake and caramel gelato + cinnamon donuts.
Cyndi was attentive and kept us taken care of.
Christmas dinner. Two of six meals inedible and no server came back entire meal to check if everything was ok. By the time they came back it was too late to replace as everyone else had eaten. Restaurant was half full. Removed items from bill, too little too late.
Absolutely lovely Christmas dinner this year! Food was outstanding...so was the service!
Terrific, knowledgeable, and pleasant service by Cyndi. Diver scallops with pappardelle and pork saltimbocca were both excellent dishes. Loved the 25% off wine bottles on Wednesday evening dinner. House made bread was warm and tasty. Gelato was delicious. All and all, a perfect Christmas dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Also have enjoyed the happy hour many times before — excellent value.
Great food and wine. The staff is the best. Thanks Kirbi
Friday is surf n turf night, and my husband ordered it without the turf: crab cakes with asparagus and potatoes au gratin, and they were delicious. I had the butterfish, and it was cooked perfectly - just until done, not overcooked. The veggies and johnnycake that come with it were terrific, especially the johnnycake. I highly recommend them if they're still on the menu.
A dining experience complete with superb staff seeking to make you the center of attention permitting one to be fully immersed in some of the finest and freshest food in TUCSON! Highly recommended!
Great dining experience. The service from Jessica was amazing. The Chicken Gnocchi and King Salmon dishes were professionally prepared and well presented. Delicious!
My review is for their Thanksgiving dinner. The meal was average not what one would expect for 75.00 per plate. The service was good. We sat in a corner table by windows and it was very cold; however, I imagine if we would have asked they would have relocated us. In defense of the Primo -- I've never had a good Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant, we should have known better. The Primo may be wonderful with their normal menu.
Loved the atmosphere, service and food was amazing!
Well when we checked out the area, we saw the sign at the restaurant that said Valet and we were thrilled. When we showed up guess it was team busses, police and we were told we could not park in the self park area. So, I walked into restaurant and husband went to get valet at front door to park. It was a zoo, lots of cars, people getting their cars, leaving their cars. The restaurant was nice but the menu was not really to our liking (husband had coffee rubbed venison which was ok, I had pasta with pork & beef and sauce and it did not have much taste). The bread was good, wine good, the best part of the meal - the cannoli and coffee. Doesn't say much for a restaurant when that is the best part. Retrieving our car was also a zoo. The staff at valet was very nice and very overworked that night.
The only thing Primo about Primo were the prices. We paid $60.00 for the Surf & Turf special served on a table with formica top--no tablecloth, not even a place mat. When a dinner companion asked for salt and pepper, he was brought two pieces of paper, salt on one, pepper on the other, no shakers available apparently. The Surf & Turf special was over-cooked, both the steak (ordered med rare) and the lobster (rubbery). One dinner companion had the pork saltimbocca which she rated as good. Another companion had salmon which she rated as good but she received two asparagus spears. Service was adequate but the waitress was very busy so only passed by occasionally. Restaurant was very noisy initially but became OK as the crowd thinned out. I've experienced better restaurants in a Holiday Inn. Given the prices, I would expect white tablecloths and salt and pepper shakers, accompanied by a pianist.
Absolutely delicious dinner. Best Brussels sprouts (dude dish) we have ever had. Unique recipe w bacon and pepitas.
The service was impeccable and as we were celebrating a birthday we received a complimentary dessert complete w candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate.
My only negative comment would be the lighting level on the outdoor patio is a little too bright. An easy fix.
Would definitely recommending will go back!
Father son dinner
Good service, good menu, good wine list, food was just not good. We had to ask for salt and pepper, even that couldn’t help. Spaghetti and meatballs had no taste. New York strip was overcooked.
As always the food and staff are top notch! Cindy and Vanessa took amazing care of us and made our son's birthday unforgettable! Thank you!
Always a pleasure to eat here. Very creative menu with more than the standard fare! Excellent and friendly service that does its best to make you comfortable and happy. No pressure.
Love the food and also love the dessert delicious.
Food was adequate, nothing special. Cocktail came out after the frozen Caesar salad. Staff was very nice and attentive, food and timing poor.
The service was great but they are doing work on the building and scaffolding covers the view from the restaurant.
There were six diners and some meals were good but others were just average. The salmon was good but the serving did not justify the cost. The scallops were good but too salty. The chicken was dry but flavorful. They pork meal was good but very rich tasting. The meals did not justify the cost.
Really good service, meals were very good from a limited menu
Our server Cindy was one of the best we have ever had, in any restaurant. Excellent service makes great food even better. The coffee rubbed venison was spectacular.
Our party had the filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The service was outstanding.
Staff was very attentive, very knowledgeable about entrees. We both had spaghetti and meatball special was GREAT.
Hubby and I enjoyed our 5th Anniversary originally disappointed by the construction painting that hid our anticipated views however the staff more than made up for it with champagne and a special cannoli desert where the view was the last thing from our mind! It was an extraordinary dinner of salmon and lamb chops and the service unparalleled! Thank you Primo!
this was our second time dining at Primo and both experiences were bad, first time they said they burned our steak Tomahawk so therefore it took for ever to get our dinner, second time it just took too long to get our food and plus it was cold, so definitely not fun at all, we noticed that other people were also asking about their food =( in my opinion staff has lack of experience all the way around.
