The service was great but they are doing work on the building and scaffolding covers the view from the restaurant.
There were six diners and some meals were good but others were just average. The salmon was good but the serving did not justify the cost. The scallops were good but too salty. The chicken was dry but flavorful. They pork meal was good but very rich tasting. The meals did not justify the cost.
Really good service, meals were very good from a limited menu
Our server Cindy was one of the best we have ever had, in any restaurant. Excellent service makes great food even better. The coffee rubbed venison was spectacular.
Our party had the filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The service was outstanding.
Staff was very attentive, very knowledgeable about entrees. We both had spaghetti and meatball special was GREAT.
Hubby and I enjoyed our 5th Anniversary originally disappointed by the construction painting that hid our anticipated views however the staff more than made up for it with champagne and a special cannoli desert where the view was the last thing from our mind! It was an extraordinary dinner of salmon and lamb chops and the service unparalleled! Thank you Primo!
this was our second time dining at Primo and both experiences were bad, first time they said they burned our steak Tomahawk so therefore it took for ever to get our dinner, second time it just took too long to get our food and plus it was cold, so definitely not fun at all, we noticed that other people were also asking about their food =( in my opinion staff has lack of experience all the way around.
One of the best in Tucson. Very consistent. Great taste and presentation. Attentive service bending the menu to meet what we would like.
Great Dinner and wonderful service. Always love the fish!
Very nice dining experience. Ambience was nice. Seated at table by the window and relaxed with attentive and friendly service. Nice wine nd food selection. Celebrating an anniversary and dessert presented well. Food was a bit salty, but otherwise a great time.
Restaurant did not have enough wait staff or cooks. It took several hours for the two of us to order and receive our food. Food was ok, definitely overpriced.
Service was a little slow due to a large party on the patio. But it was still good. And the food was fabulous. The chef is not afraid to try bold changes to traditional combinations. very enjoyable
Wait staff was wonderful and accommodating.
Amazing! Top of the line food and location! One of the best places in Tucson!
Called hotel, long unnecessary unproductive voice mail loops. Contacted front desk for info about all restaurants in hotel, clerk could not assist. Clerk said he was forwarding call to Primo, waited over 4 mins. no one answered, believe he never completed forwarding call. I hung up, went online to find direct dial number, contacted Primo, made reservation for 3, 2 adults, 1 child. Walked long distance through hotel to find restaurant, no signs indicating Primo, but other signs indicating various places.
Interesting plate presentations. Long wait for drinks, (non alcoholic, should be simple). Average food for high price ($200.00 + $30.00 tip).
Very inconvenient experience, would not reccomend nor repeat.
The challenge with resort-based restaurants is the understandable presence of children. We were seated next to a table with two crying 2- to 3-year olds. We asked to be moved to a more quiet spot and were immediately accomodated. Both of our meals were excellent, including my wife's order of a delicate seafood filet. More important, the manager, Dameion Willis, visited our table and asked sincere questions (not just "how was it?") about the food preparation and our likes and dislikes. He also presented my wife with a copy of the book written by the Executive Chef, Melissa Kelly. This was a true touch of class by Dameion! Our experience made our celebration of my wife's birthday a truly memorable event. We shall return!
For the price paid it was very disappointing. Food was too salty- salads were not inspired. Music was from the 1950's. We were the only the second table & when we asked to have the channel changed or volume turned down we were told that changes were not possible. Furnishings and ambience were dated & dull.
That leaves you with the food- which had to be spectacular to overcome these other issues- and while the food was fair to good the quality did not match the price charged. We will not go there again
Our waitress was outstanding but our meals were not. Mine was good but my wife's was poor. They apologized and adjusted accordingly. Definitely worth another try though.
Absolutely one of our favorite Tucson treats. The chef is remarkable with her fresh flavor combinations. Everything from the peach burrata, entrees, pasta to the cheesecake and cannoli were awesome. Fun to sit at the chefs bar to watch the prep!
Food met expectation. Service was OK, as there was a trainee hovering along with server. Mussels were not as big as what server had described. Noise level was high as there was a large group next to us that was extremely loud. Overall, a satisfactory experience. Would come back if I knew there was a make over to the restaurant, as it appeared a little worn and out dated. And prices were a high for the overall experience. Thank you. Kevin von Felden
A big thank you to Jessica and the rest of the Primo team for making my sister's birthday special. The dessert plate was awesome!
There was an unruly family with three children making a great deal of noise. The children were running wild, and it was very distracting. It greatly reduced the quality of the overall atmosphere. As there are other restaurants in the resort, I would recommend that Primo's prohibit children under 12. This is a great restaurant for special occasions, and, unfortunately, there are a lot of parents who do not know how to train their children to behave in an upscale restaurant. This is NOT McDonald's PlayPlace. Other than that, which was mostly beyond the control of the restaurant, it is a great place for special occasions.
We enjoyed our Italian pasta dinners finished with gelato. The service was attentive and kind, and with the sunset and mountains, lovely ambience.
Great for a quiet and romantic dinner. The food was excellent and the service was great. The view was beautiful and provided the right amount of privacy from other hotel guests. The wine list was extensive but not overwhelming; which made it easy to pick the perfect bottle of wine. The dinner menu was the same, not overwhelming and offered a wide selection. We indulged in dessert; the goat cheesecake. One word, delicious! One small; complaint ants on the patio. The table cloth was just long enough for the ants to crawl from the floor onto the table.
Unfortunately the food was not very good. Everything lacked salt and acid. The frito misto starter tasted like old oil had been used to cook it & the dipping sauce was horribly bland. The Milanese sauce was extremely oily & the bolognese was drowning the pasta. We should have complained but were so hungry we didn’t bother because didn’t want to have to wait. I asked for lemon and it took about 10 minutes to get. Best part of the meal was the wine.
Nice place to have a good dinner for any occasion.
Excellent restaurant. Best food in Tucson right now. The Alaskan Halibut is outstanding. Staff is very attentive always gets your order right (hard to find these days). Atmosphere is a 10+, especially the outdoor patio surrounded by their gardens. Would highly recommend!
The salmon and chocolate cake were fabulous! The room was freezing cold.
Excellent food and service. We came to have dinner after a conference and they quickly accommodated us. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. We were actually able to hear each other. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and the noise is loud you can’t hear the person next to you. Not here this was very nicely situated you didn’t feel like you were having dinner with the table next to you.
The wait staff was always friendly and attentive. For the price I was expecting the food to be out of this world. I found to be way overpriced for the quality. I had a dish that included a lobster claw. For the price I expected a large lobster claw. I was very disappointed in the tiny size of the lobster claw. The chorizo in the dish was extremely hard and difficult to cut. We asked for patio seating. Again, being JW Marriott I expected a beautifully landscaped patio with a beautiful view of some kind. It felt more like a a back porch. Lots of work needs to be done to improve the patio dining experience. Lots more needs to be done to bring the cost of food in line with the quality of the food.
Great service and food. Could have a better drink menu.
I ordered the Coffee Rubbed Venison and my wife orders the Tagliatelle Bolognese. The rub on the Venison was over spiced with pepper. After my first bite the pepper was so over powering I needed several glasses of water. My wife’s pasta was grossly under cooked and in 4 large sections.
Although the Manager was kind and explained his thoughts as to why these dishes were prepared like this. I unfortunately being a SVP of Ops for a major food company I love to sit with a view of the kitchen. I did not witness the Manager that was expediting taste one dish leaving the kitchen. Just a thought...
Overall we had a very good experience. The service from the bartender to the front of the house to our excellent waiter was commendable. The atmosphere is fairly inviting for such a spacious restaurant and bar within a very large resort. We dined inside.
The brie appetizer was much, much better than I expected. My entree was the pork saltimbocca, which was enthusiastically recommended by our excellent waiter when I couldn't make up my mind, and the dish was clearly a well-executed and -conceived one. The potatoes were a little too creamy but the gravy and pork were superb. My wife ordered a pasta dish which was to have some green chile flavor but instead featured an enthusiastic, really enthusiastic helping of garlic. This served to fend off all vampires in North America. You need not worry. An amazing cannoli dessert was offered in lieu of her not feeling like trying the entree again, and it was absolutely delicious. The entree was removed from the bill.
Only a specific issue marred our experience but the service and remainder of the food and drinks more than made up for it. Recommended.
A truly enjoyable experience! The food, service and ambiance was first rate.
Primo never disappoints! The food, service, and ambiance are consistently excellent. I particularly appreciate the integration of fresh ingredients (grown on location) and the culinary creativity of the chefs.
Great tasty entrees. Low quality dining room. Covering the plastic wood table tops at a minimum would help. Never order from a wine list stacked with $300-700 bottles. Overall disappointed
Hostess, servers, food, ambiance overall was excellent! You can't beat perfection! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staff was great, food was fair.... I would recommend only if staying there..
Nice to include the happy hour before dinner. Staff allots plenty of time for you to enjoy the bar nibbles and cheaper drinks area before seating you in dining room when YOU are ready. The lamb chops were generous and delicious. The cannoli was a wonderful dessert.
Despite rude, loud and otherwise obnoxious diners in the restaurant, the staff, particularly our server, did a great job.
