What Insiders Are Saying
Primeur is a brilliant neighbourhood wine bar and restaurant with excellent Modern European small plates and a fantastic candlelit atmosphere.
Great restaurant that has never disappointed. Third time here and always impressed with the quality and variety of the menu. Haven't had a bad dish yet. Attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. Highly recommend.
Amazing look no further
Great lunch of mussels and pork belly all using phenomenally herbs and sauces.
The wine selection is well priced and enjoyable to try some high cost wines by the glass without paying a premium
Great food and service. Slightly dear but we knew what to expect having been before. Would happily come again
Exceptional food as always. There are very few restaurants I can have total faith that whatever I choose on the menu will be of the highest possible standards. This was no exception.
Primeur used to be one of my favourite local restaurants but lately I find it hit and miss. Not sure if theres a difference between lunch and dinner service - we visited at lunchtime. A couple of the dishes were delicious but we also ordered the duck which was overcooked and luke warm so that was disappointing. The meringue pudding was really chewy and sticky. Service was also slow which was unusual - maybe it was an off day and we were just unlucky.
Had high hopes but was put in a rubbish table (uncomfortable and kept on being hit by the staff rushing past), food was average and bill was fairly high. Won’t be back in a hurry. Real shame.
Loved it - menu was brilliant, great setting and lovely service
Delicious, interesting food that thought had been put into, will be thinking about the meal for a long time to come. A menu that made you want to try new things. Pleasant service in a nice space. The wines were not a bargain but some excellent choices to be had.
A really nice place to have in the neighbourhood. Really nice service and atmosphere. The starters were a little basic (croquettes were served without a dip, crudités dip was great but otherwise we're just covered in parmesan). Will definitely go back as fish dish and wine was great, also the menu changes constantly.
Absolutely delicious food in a really nice setting. Every dish we ordered hit the ball put of the park and the small plates meant we could try more options from the menu. Service was attentive too even though the place was packed. The tables are large and shared but it doesn't feel like you are on top of anyone at all which is always a big plus in London.
What a great venue for a lazy Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and wine and lovely to have the big open doors brining the outside in.
Nice eve for couples. Fresh ingredients and menu.
good balance food quality and price, great service
Every single time we eat here it's close to perfect. Varied menus, knowledgable staff, great atmosphere. Favourite spot in London.
3rd time there and it’s fantastic. High end price wise but good value for the quality.
One of my favourite restaurants in London! Both the food and the service are equally incredible.
One of the best food experiences in London. Strongly recommend to everyone.
Everything was fantastic, the food was incredible and the ambiance was wonderful.
The restaurant itself is a lovely space, beautifully decorated and feels very welcoming. The service was great from the moment we stepped in and food was even better, some of the dishes were more surprising and tasty than others but that’s just a matter of personal taste.
The wine list is also quite extensive and offers good range of prices, qualities, and pairing with the food they serve.
Overall the place is amazing, highly recommended for either a friendly lunch/dinner or a romantic date.
What a lovely way to spend an evening - in a beautiful room eating inspired, seasonal food, guided by passionate, knowledgable staff. Bravo!
Beautiful early summer evening meant the fold back doors were wide open, started with a lovely Campari spritz whilst we waited for our table and service, food, speed throughout was excellent. I’ve been waiting ages to go here and wasn’t disappointed.
Disappointing evening. Service hurried. Food OK, but not great. Wine expensive.
Service was hurried and we were told our mains might arrive before the starters.
We were later told after an hour and 15 minutes that we should hurry if we wanted dessert as we only had the table for 90 minutes!! This was news to us as it had not been stated when booking nor on their website. The norm in most restaurants is a minimum 2 hours
Won’t be back any time soon
My boyfriend and I went to Primeur for his birthday. The food was lovely, however our waiter was quite rude to us. Having dietary restrictions, I called ahead and spoke to a member of staff who assured me that there would be options for us, however when we arrived we were rather abruptly told we would only be able to eat 3 dishes, 2 of which being plates of vegetables. They were delicious, but no effort was made to substitute the elements we couldn’t eat, so it was a lot of money for very little food. The waiter was quite unwelcoming and called us ‘fussy’ for having genuine intolerances. If we had known that the restaurant wouldn’t be able to cater to us or offer welcoming service we would have gone elsewhere. We’re used to not being able to enjoy the whole menu when we eat out, but not to being belittled for it. Overall we left disappointed despite the very good quality of the food we did have, which is a shame.
We had to sit at the bar which is not very comfortable. Otherwise it would be 5 stairs, the food is great!
Lovely food - although small plates experience can be irritating - as you lose some of the enjoyment of a sense of meal - some items felt expensive others good value.
Wine very expensive - and not great at the price I was prepared to pay
The food was good but not as good as usual!
We had a very cramped end of table for 4, not enough space for the food. It’s a shame as we love this place!!!
The food was excellent but we were rather hurried by the staff to order our dessert, as the reservation was reduced from 2 hours to 1.45 minutes without discussing it with us. This made the end of the meal feel less enjoyable. 2.00 hour slots are fine (if a bit tight), and that is what we agreed to, but reducing it further without asking us felt a bit rude.
Also, upon asking the staff I found out that if you pay a tip through the card machine it doesn't go to the staff, the company keep it. This is not the way I would expect a decent restaurant to operate. I would expect tips to go to the staff, and if that isn't your policy you should make that very clear to diners. Again, a bit disappointing from somewhere I thought would be better than that.
Small plates to share. Interesting flavours and combinations, wide selection of unusual wines.
Quite expensive. Communal tables or stools at the bar.
Lovely restaurant in unique building. Small plates but all tasty good especially the croquetas and merinque
Great out of the way place!! A delicious menu that will make your palette state: “Please, Sir.. can I have some more?”
Fantastic restaurant! You’re looked after from the moment you walk in, our waiter was knowledgable about all the wines and food on offer, and really wanted to help us in our selection. Sat at the bar was great, a little quiet in atmosphere but it grew as the evening went on. Would definitely go back
Excellent as always. Food is always fresh, delicious and tasty. Service is spot on. Tiniest of gripes is that the bar seats are sometimes bit close for comfort, but usually only if a bit of manspreading is in play.
`we have arrived early for a pre-theatre treat for my husband’s birthday. So the ambience was like for an existential film because the restaurant was empty. The food was first class although not enough choice for vegetarians ( please note Primeur, we are experiencing a food revolution and many people choose to avoid it, for different reasons). The service was very attentive and they even remembered to stick a candle in my husband’s cake. When the restaurant is full it is v noisy with the local chi chi crowd. Le Primeur is quirky and let it remain so.
This restaurant is a little gem. The wine is great, the food is delicious and overall it's just really good value for money. Would recommend this over and over again.
The food was so fresh and delicious. Each plate left us wanting more (in a good way). Wine rather spenny but worth it.
Despite having two large groups at the same time we were really well looked after. Delicious food and wine in a lovely ambience.
There is a great atmosphere and service in the restaurant. The menu is creative and flavoursome. We thought the vegetarian options were delicious and the cod and lamb mains also lovely.
Great food, good service. Great fun. A bit too noisy for me but will certainly go again
