Great service, food and music- our favorite spot!
Everyone was very pleasant all the appetizers were amazing steak was very delicious and I love seafood so that made me happy. They really took care of me and my party. It was a business dinner. Everyone was so happy the energy was great
Party of 6 celebrating a couple engagement. Anthony, our server, was spot on and made the night special for all.
Wait staff fabulous
Great service and food.
Music a bit too loud for normal conversation
Great quality ingredients, nice flavor profile, perfectly prepared, prompt and attentive service. The open table menu is out of date. The Cioppino seafood dish is wildly overpriced for a menial portion (4 mussels, 2 jumbo shrimp, 2oz lobster tail, tiny sliver 1" long of crab leg, two 2oz portions sea bass, $42). Lobster tail is noticeably ($15-20) over market price. Margarita poorly mixed.
I asked for medium and my steak was more pink the usual.
My date had a New York strip and couldn’t cut it without shaking the table.
For it to be considered fine dining and a bit pricey, in my opinion it was not top notch. Service wasn't the most friendly and they improperly cooked 2 very expensive steaks. The shrimp appetizer was really delicious, but I can't do cartwheels over this place
Great service and amazing food! I enjoyed my dinner very much.
Outstanding on all fronts. Service, food, portion size, comfort, all were perfect.
Excellent selection of steaks.. chicken was fantastic... Cocktail and beer menu left a bit to be desired but overall it was a great Valentine's day dinner. I forgot my server's name but if the rest of the staff is anything like her they're in very good shape!
Maybe a server called off but our poor waiter had every table in the back room, must have been 8-12 at one time. Needless to say we rarely saw him, though he was apologetic when we did. We didn’t order appetizers and it took just about an hour for our entrees to arrive after we sat. The waiter was kind and brought us a cocktail on the house, but I don’t fault him. Management should have been taking orders, running food, running drinks, whatever it takes to help. The food was very good, but not sure I see the value if the service doesn’t justify the steep prices.
Everyone loved the steaks. The Sea Bass was not up to its usual standard of excellence. It was mushy and not firm and flaky as it usually has been. Music was loud, but when we mentioned it to our waiter, it promptly turned down. Overall, a great evening. Will come again.
Great service and wonderful food on a very busy Valentine’s Day dinner rush.
Food was delicious. Service was phenomenal. Drinks were good too. Fried carrot cake isn’t to be missed.
Wonderful Valentines Day dinner
The mai Thai, the lobster thermidor, and the lamb chops were excellent. Compliments to the chef.
We will be back.
Outstanding restaurant! We went during restaurant week and enjoyed every course. Very comfortable and lively atmosphere. Service was great!
Experience was good however service could have been a little more attentive we had a party of 5
The food was SUPERB! My steak was cooked to perfection and all other aspects of the meal were on point. Our waiter was not as attentive as we had hoped. However, we’ve been here before and our server was great. The prices are a bit high, but the food is excellent. They served a complementary birthday dessert that was absolutely delicious.
We participated in Restaurant Week so ordered from the Prix Fixe menu (GREAT value!!!!).
Lamb sausage=good flavor, but dry. The peppers were VERY hot...would recommend removing the seeds.
Tuna tartare= meh. It was topped with a salsa-like diced tomato which was the same color and texture of the tuna. Hard to tell the difference.
Clam chowder=Excellent! Lots of clams, deep flavors.
Mediterranean chopped salad=meh. WAY too much oil in the dressing, needed more vinegar/acid. Too much dressing.
Both ordered the 8oz filet=OUTSTANDING! The meat was fantastic and rich. Asparagus cooked perfectly (great grilled flavor), and the mashed potatoes were yummy :)
Service: Our server barely spoke to us. I think he said 10 words the entire evening. It was our first time there, and we told him so. Would have like some explanation of the menu and/or recommendations. He was a dud, for sure.
We had an excellent dinner during restaurant week
Great value. And now we'll be back for special occasion dining.
The food was great, I would definitely go back!! This was my husband and I first time ever being at Prime29 and it was overall amazing. We I’ll be recommending this to our friends and family’s.
I love this place, wish I could eat there every night. The food is always consistent and the service is always on point.
Our experience here was awesome. The good was absolutely delicious & we had 10 guests and everyone’s complimented the chef. The waiter seemed to be in a rush, & once the bill was paid for we had to keep asking the other servers for the dessert menu, carry out menu, & other things. I had 3 people that wanted dessert it literally took 30 minutes to get him back to the table I thought that was rude & unprofessional. But overall the company & food was amazing. We will return
Outstanding. The seafood meal was wonderful. The pistachio creme brulee was great. The lobster mac and cheese was the best I ever had
Good wait staff
good food although a bit pricey!
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, but it is also definitely worth traveling to. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the food is delicious and the wine and liquor selections are plentiful and reasonable. We tried a new dish-Avocado and Lobster appetizer and almost licked the plate-it was fantastic. The burger is yummy and the salmon was wonderful as well. We love that the restaurant is always busy, since it confirms that a lot of people think the way we do.
Enjoyed the night.
Live music on Friday’s, set the scene for a wonderful meal. Calamari, clam chowder, steak and Chilean sea bass were all prepared excellently.
Food was good some steaks better than others service good
Delicious as always
Our Waiter Kevin was amazing. We had a great time and the food was amazing.
Prime 29 is great. I have never been disappointed with my dining experience. The entrees are filling and delicious. My son had the lobster tail, and we ended up taking the accompanying lobster ravioli home, it was amazing the next day, when I had it for lunch. Their steaks are always a win no matter which one you have.
Try and save room for dessert if you can.
The service was great, so was the food. I loved the atmosphere
$75 flat rate for first seating
New Year’s Eve 18/19
It was noted on my reservation that it was my husbands birthday. They must have forgot because it was NYE. Seated in back near kitchen which was loud. Menu was not explained to us and preparations/ingredients were not listed. (I would have changed my order had I known more) Waiter served my husband double drinks and did not order as such. Found out from bill. So instead of 3 drinks he had drank 6. Starred items are my preferred as I ordered one option while my husband ordered the other.
Berrato on Watermelon (okay)
I think a pork sausage
*Caesar in Parmesan Bowl
Citrus Beet (not good) seeds in citrus, out of season tough fruit
*Filet mignon, small serving of mashed, 2 huge undercooked asparagus, melted butter
(I think Chilean sea bass)
Chocolate cake similar to Burger Kings
Food was amazing but service wasn’t what i expected when reservations were made i typed in that i wanted a birthday feeders brought out, then i called a hour before to make sure but when we got there to eat and i expected it to be brought out at the end all i got was the bill
Best steak in metro Detroit.
Waiter not very attentive. No mention that we were celebrating anniversary.
