Prime13 Ratings and Reviews
P13 is Houston's meets Old Homestead without the ambiance or old world charm. The food is excellent and the service is way above par. The small banquet table that faces the open kitchen is a great idea but having one of the employees/owner dining there alone (maybe due to lack of space) and having idle banter with the cooks at an increased volume level leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it was a nice dining experience but the interior needs to be spruced up a bit. If they are going to charge upscale prices (which the quality of the food deserves) then they might want to consider tablecloths. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and even though this is a return trip i wouldn't rush back on a regular basis.
Was disappointed with this restaurant. There is no ambiance and it is loud. My dinner was overcooked and tasteless. Server had an issue with settling of the bill. About 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant , our server called to say we missed something with the check, we didn't leave the receipt, and when are we stopping in to settle this. I explained that we paid with cash, he brought our change and the gratuity was left for him. He paused, then there was a long Ohhhhh, and the call ended. I don't expect to return to Prime 13.
we had restaurant week menu and wife go sick from the Asian clams the bone rib eye is way overpriced and being that the kitchen is opened up for all to see very dirty and not organized in getting food orders prepped correctly as some plates were just sitting around waiting for other food to be added.
Restaurant is small which is not a problem, but the noise level is so high that you can't carry on a conversation. Odors from the in-room kitchen and the backyard smoker were not pleasant. Flank steak as I predicted was chewy, and the pork chop was dry.
Service was excellent
Dined during Restaurant Week. Restaurant was very busy on a Thursday night. I gave my name and we were seated promptly. Our server was mediocre. We had to wait a while before the host noticed that no one had opened our wine (BYOB) and sent someone over. We both ordered from the Restaurant week menu. Pretzel rolls served to all diners were excellent. Appetizers were both good. We both had the flank steak entree which was quite good. Cannoli tacos for dessert were awesome.
Went for jersey shore restaurant week. 2 in the party had the fish! And enjoyed it. I ordered the steak and the rub was too spicy for me. Had to ask for butter, salt and pepper. Flourless chocolate cake was very rich but great. Should offer a smaller fillet for no extra charge. Noise level a bit high for a senior
We've been here many times. Food is consistently excellent, service is good, staff is friendly and professional. It's BYO, so you always get the drink that you want. The only downfall is tables are close together and it gets a bit loud. But the food and service are definitely worth the noise, plus if you go early before it gets real crowded, the noise level is fine.
We attended for our anniversary. The place was packed, which was a worry only at first. The service was good, especially considering the crowd. The food was excellent! I have to say the steak was prepared to perfection, the sides were tasty and done very well. It appears as though the staff takes every portion of each individual meal into account. Every piece of each of our meals were tailored just right for the plate. That is something to rave about, the fact that even the sides were prepared 'just exactly perfect'. The timing of the dishes was also spot on. We wrapped up our appetizers. Had a moment to breathe. Then just before the typical "I hope our food comes out soon" thought formed, out come the main courses. Our server checked on us plenty, as did the host/owner. As we wrapped up our main courses, the plates were cleared and we were, again, given a breath to let the plate settle. Dessert was timed perfectly, again... It was also delicious! We were happy and look forward to going back!
Food was very good. My friend and I shared the Tomahawk steak which was cooked to a perfect Medium as we requested. Also at the table we ordered crab cakes (they put too much other stuff in the cake besides lump crab). Also ordered the flank steak, no complaints.
For apps we got the pork belly bacon which was very nice. Also ordered the Asian shrimp which were really good!
Overall, for the price paid, i expected a more upscale dining experience. There was an amazing pretzel served as the “bread” for the table which came just before our main course cause the waiter was not paying attention.
We dined at Prime 13 during NJ Shore Restaurant Week. Great value for the money on special menu, otherwise a little pricey. Food was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Food was nicely paced. My only criticism is the decor of the restaurant. I was not a fan of the bright blue color walls or the hanging plants. It reminded me of an old-time steak restaurant in Mexico. Upscale decor and removal of televisions would equate the price with food.
we went to prime 13 for my birthday, we had The 8oz filet, crab cake, and lamb chops, all dinners were prepared perfectly. We also had two sides that were good portions ,broccoli rabe and mushroom medley. Service was very good, noise level was a little high for the amount of customers on a thursday night. I would recommend this restaurant.
We never received our salads. Food came out as we were still eating appetizer. Waitress forgot to put in my side order and lobster tail. When lobster did finally come out after reminding her, it was so tough and I couldn’t eat it. My boyfriend got crabs legs that were very fishy. No one took anything off the bill. Waste of money, Horrible and I will never go back
