Prime Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
This is a solid steak restaurant, with good steaks and appetizers. They have a reasonably stocked bar with a decent number of different gins, vodkas and whiskies so that they are able to make a number of good cocktails. I kept to a gin and tonic which was spectacular with Oola gin. I had the Tuna appetizer which was really good followed by the steak with chimichurri sauce. The flavor was well balanced and the amount of food was perfect. I went away feeling very full. I didn't get round to dessert. The service was great and everyone was very friendly.
I want to start this by saying that we have driven by Prime since it opened and have always decided not go because it was a steak house. We are not big steak people so we avoid steak houses. (I like a good steak but would rather grille it myself.) We are kicking ourselves for not going sooner. As I told the manager when he stopped by our table to see how we were doing, we had dinner at Cafe Juanita two weeks ago, which is usually considered the best fine dining on the eastside and we would go back to Prime before we would go back to Cafe J.
We started with two EXCELLENT cocktails, the Redmond Manhattan. they were superb...and plentiful. I started my dinner with a simple green salad which was excellent accompanied by the delicious house sourdough.
My wife went with a large steak salad and twice-baked baked potato as her entrée and loved it. I had the short ribs which is served with some very creamy potato gnocchi that was swimming in one of the best braising sauces I have ever eaten and I LOVE braised short ribs.
We were thrilled to see they feature at least three wines from our favorite winery, Gorman. Having a glass of their Old Scratch Cabernet with the short ribs was just side of heaven. We finished up with the dessert special which was a chocolate chip cookie cooked in a cast iron skillet with a scoop of dulce de leche ice cream on top. The cookie was hot and wonderful.
Our server was a very nice young lady named Molly. We hope she sticks around as our service was excellent.
To sum up, we now have another outstanding restaurant in Redmond including Prime, Blu Sardina and Woodblock. Can't wait to go back. BTW: our total check was $116 which we thought was a great value for what we received.
When we showed up we waited for almost 20 min to take our drink order and another 15 to get them. We ordered our food and we're served the remaining items in a normal timeframe. The appetizer was really good. The green salad was served with no real toppings. The main dish and sides came undercooked and cold and needed some needed to be returned. We had heard many good things about this restaurant but unfortunately with all the other great options around for this price point we will not be coming back again.
I had a filet and twice baked potato with a Caesar salad. The Caesar was decent, the steak was good, and the potato was mediocre. I could have gone somewhere else, paid half as much, and not noticed much of a difference in the meat. I generally feel that way about places like this though, so maybe I'm not their target customer. The service was spotty. The waitress didn't get anything wrong, but wasn't nearly attentive enough (empty drinks for too long) and left me sitting with my bill for 20 minutes before taking it. When your last 20 minutes in a place is spent waiting for the waitress to take your card, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. When she left the bill, our drinks were empty, as was the place, so she knew we were ready to go and there was nothing else going on to pull her away.
Valentine's dinner with another couple. First impression, rather noisy as you walk in. To be fair most of the noise was emanating from the waiting area and an unhappy young child. We were promptly sat and the ladies in our party were presented with long stemmed roses, a very nice touch. Our waitress, Molly, was very attentive and timely. The menu is representative of a quality steakhouse with the usual offerings. The pricing of the dinner selections is very reasonable for the market. Our party ordered crab cakes, deviled eggs and cocktails to start. The appetizers both suffered from too much salt..though the presentation was very nice. The drinks were generous. Two of our party ordered dinner salads which were nicely prepared and plated. For entrees: Halibut, filet mignon, filet mignon Oscar and full wedge with grilled chicken. The steaks were accompanied with potatoe options we opted for twice baked and asparagus. Quantity, quality and presentation were very good. The entree wedge was nicely done and consistent with the steaks. The halibut was ordered medium as recommended by the Chef. The presentation was nicely done as was the quantity unfortunately the fish was over cooked which left it dry and tough. I would suggest opting for medium rare rather than medium.
We initially thought to order wine by the glass with our meal and Molly suggested Spring Hill Frederick which is not one of their usual offerings, it was listed at 20/glass or 80 per bottle, not horrible pricing. Our tab with tip for 4 was $450. Overall impression, nice restaurant, really good service, food is solid though in my groups opinion too much salt to the detriment of taste and nuance; that admittedly is a preference issue.
Went for Valentine's Day dinner. To our happiness, there was no Valentine's Day set menu. Could try things off regular menu. Our waiter, Steve, was very cheerful without being overbearing and informative. Our steaks were perfectly cooked, much better than our recent visit to John Howie Steak. Will definitely come back!
The Best Steakhouse around,no need to spend the extra $$$ to done at Jon Howie or Ruth Chris Prime delivers the same perhaps even better quality Steak and the prices are not much more then the Outback
DEFINITELY recommend everyone who is a Steak Enthusiast to give Prime a try, You will be impressed!!! You must try the Demi Peppercorn sauce its to die for and the Parmesean Palenta is a MUST have as well!!!
As regular customers of Prime Steakhouse, we have enjoyed their happy hour and dinner menu since their opening. However our recent experience has us reconsidering our choice. My husband and I both ordered our go-to favorite the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce, ricotta polenta and tomato relish. In the past the steak has been tender - delightful (which was surprising for this cut)..but this time it was full of gristle. My husband can usually power through any cut of meat, but even he didn't finish the meal. At $33 a plate, I was tremendously disappointed. We had dessert too, brûlée- it tasted burnt. I complained to our waitress about the meal, and she removed our dessert cost, but I felt that was insufficient and she failed to understand the depth of our dissatisfaction. We go to Prime for quality steak, and are willing to pay accordingly...steak was inedible - no excuses. My recommendation - stick to the happy hour menu.
I received a Prime Steakhouse gift card months ago and decided to use it for my girlfriend and me tonight. We ordered Top Sirloin with sautéed mushrooms, kale, my girlfriend had mashed potatoes with hers and I had potatoes au gratin. Food was cooked to perfection, and Molly, our server, provided friendly excellent service. My Old Fashioned cocktail was excellent too! We look forward to our next visit!
Delicious prime ribeyes, cooked perfectly. Sides left something to be desired. Granted, it was Christmas Eve and the place was packed, but fries shouldn't look like the last of the basket. Kitchen seems to love Parmesan cheese on veggies. It appeared on both the kale and creamed spinach. Why?
Service was chatty but professional. A festive night and we'd return.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Prime . Our server Josh made our experience even more memorable. The food was beyond delicious, the service was fantastic, attentive but not hovering. We celebrated our Anniversary and Our dessert had lit candles and one was complementary. We will be back . A little noisy ,lots of kids but the delicious food made us forget about the noise.
Good bartenders, food is decent, prices are ok. Main detractor is you feel like they are specifically targeting older middle aged east side couples. It's all you're surrounded with. I think I saw a late twenties guy and girl once and almost ran to them to ask if they were lost. LOL.
Steaks were very good if a bit salty. Sides were very good. The inexpensive red wine was surprisingly good. While (mostly) paneled with wood on walls and ceiling, the dining room is somewhat austere. The service was excellent. All-in-all, a great place to go for a less formal (i.e. not John Howie) but high quality experience!
