Last time I was in the building was decades ago as: "Hamburger Hamlet" ! At least that's what my friend told me. I last lived in the area in 1997 and recall a "Hambuger Hamlet" was in the area ... I guess this was the building.
Aside from the "parking issue", we enjoyed the evening. The drinks were large and good ... OK they were pricey but cost is secondary if they were good ...THEY WERE GOOD ! & LARGE !
The dinner was nice and tasty and the service was paced nicely. Tab for tw w/ 2 drinks & tip: $192.
We had an early reservation (5:30PM). As I arrived I found the lot 90% empty .........but not one spot was available for me to park in. All of the "...empty..." parking spaces had lovely white cones in them that prevented me from using the spaces. I was told by the attendant that it is 100% for Valet Parking !!!! My guest, who has difficulty walking, was let out close to the door.
I told the Valet I never turn loose of my car because of prior adverse incidents .... I park my own car and take my keys. I told him I would proceed to drive off and park across the street myself.
But, now, after letting out my guest I found myself "trapped" behind one car. The Driver's side door was left Wide Open and didn't give me room to pass. In the meantime, cars behind me started to arrive and the attendant disappeared leaving me STUCK with no ability to leave ..... I found the attendant was going to each incoming car going out to the street ignoring my repeated requests to move the vehicle in front of me.
This is a lousy system and very petty for a restaurant to engage in such an arrangement. Let's face it, Agoura Hills is not BEVERLY HILLS ! Scrap this petty "Valet" and not let it detract from meal inside.
Would I go back? Nope ....not on your life. I bet you can figure out why !
Very good value, nice atmosphere. Great value on the Price Fix menu.
We are "regulars" here and decided to pop in with my sister and her husband. They loved the steak and chicken and appreciate the value and quality of the 4 course dinner special. Food and service is always top notch and dependable. We love the Happy Hour..
Always a good meal. Very nice and attentive service - can't ask for more at a restaurant.
Delicious food , good service
Service was excellent. Friendly and efficient. “Customer is always right”, mentality. Food was poor. They push their pre fixe menu which appears to be a good deal, but the quality of the food is low, so in my opinion it is not.
Waitress very accomadating.Great wine list.Steak was amazing. Service was on time. This was Valentines day so my wife enjoyed the evening.
I would tell a friend. Sat off to the side in a more private area.Valet wait was fast and friendly.
Location close to home and the canyon club around the corner. Looking forward to trying the ventura location.
We arrived 15 minutes prior to our 7:30 reservation and their was a line just to check in.
Everyone that was in line also had reservations at that time and have been waiting quite a minute.
Nobody was at the front to welcome us or check people in.
Many others in line were complaining that because they were taking walk ins on Valentine’s Day the people with reservations got looked over.
We ended up waiting another 15 minutes without even being able to check in and ended up leaving.
Showed up 10 minutes before our set reservation and was told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour. So we walked out and eat at the Italian restaurant next store which was amazing!
We had reservations for 6:45 PM and called to change them to 7:45 PM, the hostess accommodated the change without any problem. Driving six hours up from Sacramento, we were excitedly anticipating our Valentine's Day dinner experience!
We arrived 15 minutes early to our reservation and were told that we would have to wait FIFTY MINUTES. We tried making our way through to the bar with my wheelchair, but the place was so overbooked and crowded, we ended up having to go outside. After waiting 10 minutes in the cold, my husband went back in to ask if we could be seated any earlier and the hostess was rude and would not accommodate us. This was completely disheartening, as we had our reservations booked for over three weeks.
We saw a nearby restaurant called Chianti, so we thought we would give it a try instead. Thankfully, they seated us immediately and we were able to have some dinner after such a long drive.
Sadly, we saw three other couples come into Chianti's from the overbooked Prime Steakhouse. Lacking management on such an important evening, extremely poor job Prime!
Had a very nice time. Food was great and they do not hurry you out. It was super busy and we had great service. It's loud but we had a nice both in the corner so we were very happy. Will be back.
Saturday evening date night. It was happy hour so we took advantage of the drink and food specials.
It was very busy and seemed understaffed for the crowd size. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks but the scene was enjoyable so that helped. Live music was a nice touch too.
Overall a good experience.
This restaurant is consistent in its food quality, great service, and nice place to eat.
The food is great and the entertainment ihss been amazing each time we have come!
Always great food and ambiance at Prime. The filet mignon is one of the best you’ll have.
Steak not as tender as expected but the service was good and the singer was excellent!
Food was good and Prix Fixe menu was a great value at $39 or $49 for appetizer, salad, entree and sharable side dish. Waiter was good / friendly. Kitchen was slow to get through all courses (took almost 3 hours without dessert). Cocktails (martinis) were generously sized.
Got surf and turf special at $50 w full course meal. Steak was outstanding. Lobster was rubbery and not very tasty. Garlic mashed potatoes were great along with bread and appetizer. Great wine list (limited by the glass). Service is very friendly but not very professional. Ate alone but took three reminders to have other plates and glasses removed. Other "mistakes" were also made but nothing major. Except for a very loud group of 6 that thought they were in their own backyard, nice experience. Will go back.
Ambiance and delicious food in an unexpected and unassuming place. Service was wonderful even on a major holiday, definitely will return.
The menu was preset for Xmas but the choices were varied and everyone found something they enjoyed. The service was excellent and there were choices for seating from near the music to further away to suit everyone. It was a lovely evening.
Great date night place. Nice music. My only complaint was that our table for two was extremely small.
Great steak house. Live music. Charming decor. Excellent service.
I made a reservation on Open Table for my 26th wedding anniversary, only to get a call from the restaurant about two hours before our reservation that the entire reservation was reserved for a private party and that we could not eat there. Not the kind of service I expected from this place. Very disappointed in this level of disorganization.
Always enjoy the food at Prime! The wedge salad, avocado roll and twice baked potato are among my favorites.
We went here for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday. We usually spend special events at Ruths Chris but thought we would try something new. It was a big disappointment. When I made the online reservation, I followed-up with a phone call to let them know of the special occasion. First, when we arrived, the receptionist was no where to be found and another couple in front of us had been waiting for several minutes. We noticed our daughter and SIL already seated, so we seated ourselves. It took nearly 15 minutes for the waiter to approach our table and take drink orders. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop and our kids ordered wine. After about 5 minutes the waiter returned with the drinks. The wine was fine, but the bartender needs lessons on mixed drinks. Hint, mixed drinks have a recipe. A Lemon Drop should not be all vodka with a twist of lemon. It took another 10 minutes for the waiter to return and take our order. Throughout each course, our food was delivered by different staff members. At no time did the waiter return to our table to check on us. It took me flagging down someone to get my water refilled and the other drinks re-ordered (this place is small, it shouldn't have been difficult). We asked for a refill of the bread 3 times; finally on the third try we got the bread and the waiter blamed the busboy. The waiter finally came to our table with the check, never asking if we needed anything else. I cannot recommend anything on the menu as it was all plain and just "there". It was a disappointment to celebrate my wife's birthday in a place like this. I do not recommend. Either go west to Maestro's or east to Ruths Chris.
Great place for steak with very nice wine list. Prices are very reasonable
John, our server was top notch! Hostess and manager were accommodating. Food is pricey but very good.
Nothing special but food was pretty good, definitely not Mastros
Was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food was. Tried to get a table at Maestro’s but was happy because they were too busy - had a better meal at a much better price.
Food and service were surprisingly excellent. And, prices were amazingly reasonable!
It was my Husbands Birthday We had a lovely dining experience and loved hearing good live music. The service was excellent and not rushed so we could enjoy our evening Cheers to a wonderful night out!
I would say that the food at Prime is plentiful, but question the quality. A case of, you get what you pay for...
Appetizers-very good: I had the tuna, my husband had the stuffed mushrooms
Salad-good: both had the mixed greens
Main-fair: my husband had the filet, he said it wasn't a very good piece of steak, and didn't finish it. I had the salmon, it was good.
Fantastic meal again... I am so glad to have found this place. We went with the 4 course meal which was incredible. Thank you Jen for another great meal and service.
we have been champions of PRIME ever since it opened in Ventura. We continue to bring friends and family here whenever they are in town. Prime has been our go to place for dinner, happy hour and special wine tastings. Tthe food , service and price is always outstanding. lately we have eaten at the Agoura PRIME and that too is outstanding. We brought visiting family this last time and they were enthusiastic about their experience. You can never go wrong with PRIME! Our server on October 20th was Maria and her service was excellent.
The for at this place is great, but every time we have been there the service has been glacially slow. From when you sit down and wait twenty minutes to order drinks, then all through the night. To the busboy who leaves your entrees sitting on a tray getting cold while he boxes up your appetizers. I don't know if they are drastically understaffed or just poorly train their staff, but if you intend to go there leave any other plans out of your night and check your service expectations at the door.
This restaurant was truly disappointing. The steak on one of our orders was charred black and chewy. It was a ribeye which should have been incredibly tender and juicy. It was none of those. Also, for the birthday dessert, the restaurant served my 10 year old a plate of tepid crumbled bread pudding and whipped cream. Who does that? I don’t expect a dessert on the house for a birthday - but if you are going to serve one- for a child - it could be something as simple as vanilla ice cream. They later offered chocolate lava cake as a dessert, which we ordered. Not only did it NOT have chocolate “lava” oozing out of it, it was hard and COLD - as if the cake was literally taken out of the freezer. It embarrassingly BAD. Open table should remove this restaurant from its forum.
They are consistent in their quality of food. Everything is fresh, and tasty, and a great value.
The mixed drinks were perfect and they have a good wine selection.
I have enjoyed two meals at Prime Steakhouse in Agoura Hills. Both meals were delightful, the service was fantastic, the cocktails were superb, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming.
Every so often I truly enjoy digging into a wonderful cut of Prime Rib, accompanied by some tasty sides and Prime Steakhouse does not disappoint. I have always enjoyed their prime rib and I have always left fully sated.
The only drawback to Prime Steakhouse (for me), is their limited wine selection. To truly fully enjoy a wonderful cut of red meat, a guest who enjoys good wine, should also have the opportunity to select a wonderful vintage to accompany the meal. For me, the wine list is a Prime Steakhouse woefully misses the mark. In a state known for its great wines, the bottle selections were, for the most part, from mediocre wineries and of questionable or ordinary vintage. Prime Steakhouse might benefit from using the skills of a professional sommelier, or at a minimum advise potential guests that they offer a corkage service.
Nonetheless, even without benefit of selecting a delightful wine to accompany my meal, the bar and cocktail service is sufficient to offer other tasty libations which compliment the menu.
I will return again when my need for a great prime rib is calling me.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Prime. The service and food was exceptional. The ambience and quietness was welcome.
Good meals had by three of us: salmon, steak, fixed meal
