Prime Meridian Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating 2 birthdays. We were seated quickly. There was no one else seated in the restaurant but a waiter never came to our table. After sitting for 20 minutes I ended up having to ask the wait staff if someone was going to come to our table and take our order. We were ignored until then, with staff arranging placemats at other tables until that time. The food was okay, but overpriced. Even for big city. The crab cake was the best thing we had. The scallops were too chewy, the ribs fatty, and the black truffle pate abysmal. The ox tail was okay. The fried quail was above average. The view was great. And the location was perfect since we were going to a concert. Would I eat there again? Only in a time crunch. And if only get the crabcakes.
Took foreign visiting business associates out to discuss business. This was during a trade show at the GWCC which is right around the corner attended by thousands, many looking for a place to eat. It was a busy evening at Prime due to high volume, but service was attentive, food was cooked according to what we ordered and we felt relaxed. Recommend for business lunch/dinner.
I don't usually mention servers by name, but Kevin took care of us very well.
GREAT place before a game. Booked for a party of 5 prior to College Championship game. Very accommodating as we added a few more people and ended up a party of 10. Excellent and attentive service even on a ridiculously busy day. Food was also very good. Highly recommend when you are in the area or for a pre/post game meal.
Arrived at designated reservation time, place was half empty, host said one minute, and 5 minutes later there was still no one coming to seat me. Complete waste of time, and to be honest the restaurant didn't look that appetizing, more like a breakfast buffet hotel setup. Old tables and chairs, this place needs to up it's game. VERY disappointing.
The Christmas special was unbelievable ! We were so glad we chose it. The pumpkin soup was a delightful surprise. The salad was the most beautifully presented and flavor combination we have every had. The bread, butter and jam was delicious. Then came the Entree. Wonderful Prime Rib, duchess potatoes, asparagus and carrots. Everything was cooked perfectly. Then came the eggnog creme brulee! the presentation was beautiful. It was not your standard brulee. the fresh fruit on top was the perfect combination. Our server was personable and prompt. We were visiting from out of town. Our little family had the perfect Christmas dinner with no preparation or clean up. A wonderful treat and change. Thank goodness we only had to waddle up to our rooms at the Omni !
We booked this restaurant for Christmas dinner. The building was nice once we found parking. The food was delicious, except the scallops were undercooked. The service was HORRIBLE. I think the server's name was Gabriel. We do not know if he did not want to be working or what the problem was. He never asked if we wanted drinks (just poured water once), rushed our party when ordering, did not bring out complimentary bread until after the appetizers, and stood by the food station and watched our table. We had to ask other servers for help. After seeing him be more accommodating to his other tables we asked for the manager. The manager was more than helpful. After explaining the one food issue and the horrible service, he more than compensated our party. As stated the food was delicious (except the scallops), it was the server that ruined it.
We choose this place because of its promixity to Philips- which makes it super convenient. Like most hotel restaurants it’s over priced. Service was slow. Really slow. They clearly wanted you to pick the buffet. Upside- drinks were well done, it’s hard to get a really good old fashioned, these were on point. We had the chowder, crab cake and shrimp and grits. Not one wasted bite! Serving sizes were good but not too much. I’ll go back and make sure I have plenty of time before the show!
Prime Meridian was a great place to host my 23rd birthday brunch. I'll definitely be back. We came in right after the brunch rush so it was very quiet and it felt almost private. The staff was very pleasant and super attentive to our needs. I wish I could remember our waitress' name. Maybe it was Nicki? Anyway, it was great. My steak was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. I will say that 2 of my friends ordered chicken and waffles and were unimpressed. Their waffles were lukewarm and the chicken was highly unseasoned.. maybe because it's listed as a chicken & waffle sandwich and it comes with syrup/hot sauce? I don't know. However my overall experience was pleasant enough to make me want to come back. I recommend giving it a try!
We dined here prior to the Eagles Concert and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We stayed at the Omni at CNN Center and was looking for something convenient within a couple of blocks of the hotel. We had narrowed our options down to McCormick and Schmicks, Glenns's Kitchen, and Prime Meridian. We had a 5 pm reservation, and it filled up shortly after we arrived. We had a window table with an excellent view of Centennial Park and the City. In addition to the regular menu, they also offered a short tapas menu, which we didn't try. We started with the Southern toast Trio with the braised Oxtail, Black Truffle Mousse Pate, and Smoked Trout. all three were good, with the Smoked Trout having a really good smokey flavor. For Entrees I had the Sweet tea marinated Pork T- bone with peach compote and Sweet Potato casserole. The Pork t-bone was cooked perfectly and went well with the peach compote and sweet potatoes. My wife had the Georgia Farmers Garden which was a delicious medley of 7 or 8 fresh steamed vegetables. For dessert we split the Strawberry Shortcake which was very good . Service was excellent even though the restaurant was quite busy. Prime Meridian was overall an excellent dining experience and we're glad we made this choice and I can definitely recommend Prime Meridian to others.
We wanted to have dinner before a concert at Phillip's arena. We had reservations for 4. There was a very loud group of people in area to get to restaraunt. We waited several minutes to have anyone acknowledge us at the restaurant, all tables were not filled. It took sometime before we were able to get to the buffet. Buffet food was excellent but everything took SO LONG. It might not have been a big concern if we did not have some place to go at a certain time.
Our server, Kevin, was outstanding. He made us feel like we were the most important guests there which is the number one reason I'd go back. The food far exceeded our expectations as none of us had ever eaten here before. I had the filet (perfectly done), others had bone in prime rib and salmon and were very happy with the meal as well. I'd definitely recommend you try this restaurant; you won't be disappointed. They offer a buffet, but we ordered off the menu.
Another great visit before a Bama game. Got a table for our group for a late lunch before the Chick-fil-a Kickoff Game. Our server, Jada, was outstanding. Food came out perfect. If you are going to an event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Philips Arena, or the GWCC, you can do a lot worse for pre-game.
The breakfast buffet is sumptuous! Vast selections, all prepared with excellence in display and taste. From the greeting received at the door to waitstaff passing by through to the individual waiter/waitress service is TOP NOTCH. Hershel was an excellent waiter!
Our meal at the Prime Meridian was excellent! We had some varied requests, nothing crazy, but we received exactly what we wanted to receive, and with a smile! No grumbling here, just true and honest wanting to service the customer's needs. Highly recommend!
Lovely view. Made reservations for a total of 15, in split seating... attending a conference in the hotel. Asked for a response to our accomodation, but received none. Arrived, but had to wait, even with few in the room. Buffet was sparse, for an $18 lunch. A la carte order was incorrect and just ugly when it arrived the second time. They seemed not to have communicated about the potential of a 500 person conference in the facility and were quite unprepared. Yet...charged... just the same.
Aside: I keep trying to subit a 2 and 3-star rating, but Open Table keeps changing it to 3 & 4 star. It is not that, by any means.
This was a business lunch. Our guest from NY is a vegetarian and couldn't eat a salad this day because of a recent gastro procedure- there were no other vegetarian options on the menu (even though the online menu showed that there was- we checked beforehand to make sure she could eat). She asked the server if the chef could throw together something for her to eat and the server said she didn't think so and that was it. She didn't even try to find a solution and our guest sat there through lunch with no food watching us eat. Very awkward. Will NOT be going back.
