Prime Meridian Ratings and Reviews
We choose this place because of its promixity to Philips- which makes it super convenient. Like most hotel restaurants it’s over priced. Service was slow. Really slow. They clearly wanted you to pick the buffet. Upside- drinks were well done, it’s hard to get a really good old fashioned, these were on point. We had the chowder, crab cake and shrimp and grits. Not one wasted bite! Serving sizes were good but not too much. I’ll go back and make sure I have plenty of time before the show!
Prime Meridian was a great place to host my 23rd birthday brunch. I'll definitely be back. We came in right after the brunch rush so it was very quiet and it felt almost private. The staff was very pleasant and super attentive to our needs. I wish I could remember our waitress' name. Maybe it was Nicki? Anyway, it was great. My steak was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. I will say that 2 of my friends ordered chicken and waffles and were unimpressed. Their waffles were lukewarm and the chicken was highly unseasoned.. maybe because it's listed as a chicken & waffle sandwich and it comes with syrup/hot sauce? I don't know. However my overall experience was pleasant enough to make me want to come back. I recommend giving it a try!
We dined here prior to the Eagles Concert and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We stayed at the Omni at CNN Center and was looking for something convenient within a couple of blocks of the hotel. We had narrowed our options down to McCormick and Schmicks, Glenns's Kitchen, and Prime Meridian. We had a 5 pm reservation, and it filled up shortly after we arrived. We had a window table with an excellent view of Centennial Park and the City. In addition to the regular menu, they also offered a short tapas menu, which we didn't try. We started with the Southern toast Trio with the braised Oxtail, Black Truffle Mousse Pate, and Smoked Trout. all three were good, with the Smoked Trout having a really good smokey flavor. For Entrees I had the Sweet tea marinated Pork T- bone with peach compote and Sweet Potato casserole. The Pork t-bone was cooked perfectly and went well with the peach compote and sweet potatoes. My wife had the Georgia Farmers Garden which was a delicious medley of 7 or 8 fresh steamed vegetables. For dessert we split the Strawberry Shortcake which was very good . Service was excellent even though the restaurant was quite busy. Prime Meridian was overall an excellent dining experience and we're glad we made this choice and I can definitely recommend Prime Meridian to others.
We wanted to have dinner before a concert at Phillip's arena. We had reservations for 4. There was a very loud group of people in area to get to restaraunt. We waited several minutes to have anyone acknowledge us at the restaurant, all tables were not filled. It took sometime before we were able to get to the buffet. Buffet food was excellent but everything took SO LONG. It might not have been a big concern if we did not have some place to go at a certain time.
Our server, Kevin, was outstanding. He made us feel like we were the most important guests there which is the number one reason I'd go back. The food far exceeded our expectations as none of us had ever eaten here before. I had the filet (perfectly done), others had bone in prime rib and salmon and were very happy with the meal as well. I'd definitely recommend you try this restaurant; you won't be disappointed. They offer a buffet, but we ordered off the menu.
Another great visit before a Bama game. Got a table for our group for a late lunch before the Chick-fil-a Kickoff Game. Our server, Jada, was outstanding. Food came out perfect. If you are going to an event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Philips Arena, or the GWCC, you can do a lot worse for pre-game.
The breakfast buffet is sumptuous! Vast selections, all prepared with excellence in display and taste. From the greeting received at the door to waitstaff passing by through to the individual waiter/waitress service is TOP NOTCH. Hershel was an excellent waiter!
Our meal at the Prime Meridian was excellent! We had some varied requests, nothing crazy, but we received exactly what we wanted to receive, and with a smile! No grumbling here, just true and honest wanting to service the customer's needs. Highly recommend!
Lovely view. Made reservations for a total of 15, in split seating... attending a conference in the hotel. Asked for a response to our accomodation, but received none. Arrived, but had to wait, even with few in the room. Buffet was sparse, for an $18 lunch. A la carte order was incorrect and just ugly when it arrived the second time. They seemed not to have communicated about the potential of a 500 person conference in the facility and were quite unprepared. Yet...charged... just the same.
Aside: I keep trying to subit a 2 and 3-star rating, but Open Table keeps changing it to 3 & 4 star. It is not that, by any means.
This was a business lunch. Our guest from NY is a vegetarian and couldn't eat a salad this day because of a recent gastro procedure- there were no other vegetarian options on the menu (even though the online menu showed that there was- we checked beforehand to make sure she could eat). She asked the server if the chef could throw together something for her to eat and the server said she didn't think so and that was it. She didn't even try to find a solution and our guest sat there through lunch with no food watching us eat. Very awkward. Will NOT be going back.
Highly disappointed in the food! I had the Diver Scallops and they were overcooked. The short ribs were overcooked, dry and rubbery. They tasted like they had been reheated. My wife had a cheeseburger and it was far from gourmet. It reminded us of a burger you might get at the community ballpark. The prices should warrant an outstanding meal and the only thing that was outstanding was our server. Unfortunately We won't be back!
The best thing about it was the manager, who comped our dinner. The service was awful. The meal was served before our soup and salad were finished. And while the soup was lukewarm, the spinach salad was the best thing in the meal. The server never stopped by to see how everything was or to see if we needed anything else. The manager did notice we needed more drinks and comped them even before he comped the entire dinner. And when we told him we were local, he comped a future dinner as well. We weren't looking for a free meal...just decent service and good food. The buffet didn't look appealing, so we just ordered burgers. They were extremely well done. Don't think we'll go back even for a free meal.
Ate for the first time at Prime Meridian last Sunday on our way to the Neil Diamond concert. We were promptly seated and attended to quickly by an extremely professional staff. We both had the bone-in ribeye which was fabulous. The wine list was comprehensive and my gin martini was well crafted. No issues recommending this to others and we will likely eat there again in conjunction with events at Philips Arena.
We arrived early and was seated immediately. During our early dinner there was at least 80% of the tabled unoccupied. The staff was attentive informative and pleasant. The food was just not very good. I had the Pork Belly main. The pork was just o.k. and the rest of the accompanying sides were overcooked. My wife had the chicken and also found it bland and generally unremarkable.
The OMNI hotel no longer the most vibrant place in Atlanta and the Prime Meridan takes on that vibe. They can do better with a more varied menu, or do a better job of the items they serve. Unfortunately, we will, not be back.
