   Delicious brunch with friends. Beautiful dining room with great service. Prices are reasonable for the quality, although everything adds up quickly. I would definitely come back.

   I thought the menu was a bit pricey, there were no veggies or starch with the rather oily but tasty fish entrée, and no bread was offered. also the wine list was overwhelmingly over $75 per bottle. the pie crust wasn't great for a $10 slice of pie. the room is nice

   Super busy. Food was great. They were running a. It behind with our reservation but I was because tables were lingering...no fault of theirs. We had two entrees, a salad, and a bottle of wine for $165...not bad for NY.

   This is our 1st date spot. We have been coming here for the past 3 years to keep our tradition alive. Heard it will be turning into a Frankie’s. Glad we were able to enjoy it one last time before the change happens. Our waiter was fantastic. The food was delish-always! The atmosphere is exactly what we expect. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

   Birthday The staff was very nice. We sat at the table we wanted and were waited on right away. It was our first time there and it was brunch but next time I will go for dinner and try their steaks.

    Prime Meats has been my weekly go-to for six years. I vary the day of the week based on my schedule and also to catch up with some of the wonderful staff based on their shift. The sausage board was delicious. The leftovers are going to make an appearance in my frittata tomorrow. The steak frites continues to be a wonderful surprise every time. But it really is the staff that brings my family back. It was hopping this past Friday but our meals arrived quickly.

    We were seated in the main room opposite the air conditioner and fan that were blowing in us. They said they would lower it but it didn’t seem to work. They did change our seats but they should be more aware of this situation. Or food was good and the drinks were too. Our waiter was very nice but I do wish they had a better selection of vodkas

    Well-prepared, tasty dishes with excellent cocktails make this restaurant a go-to place for any occasion. The food is always fresh and the service is warm and attentive. I love the neighborhood feel with handsome dark wood, classic ambiance. I heartily recommend. Both the roasted chicken and steak are consistently excellent. Try the ease in gin cocktail. Very enjoyable.

    An exceptional, non-greasy, perfectly cooked and beautifully flavored burger. My friend had an excellent steak. They easily accommodated my dairy allergy. And the individual glass wine list, while it could have been better on the reds, including more hearty wine, was interesting and really fine. Great welcoming service. A good non dairy dessert for those of us who sadly can’t do lactose. I’ll go back as soon as I can.

    To start off . The place was empty upon arrival except for the lively bar. We were placed in a table where the servers go in and out of the kitchen and the door would bang next to my seat. I asked to move I was told we couldn’t. Appetizers were good we had shrimp cocktail and homade sausage. The entrees were nothing spectacular- it was meat and some lettuce leaves . Eh. Lemon chess pie for dessert was good. The server was nice. Wouldn’t go back.

    It’s always great. Great menu, lighting, ambiance, wine list, cocktails, and seasonal specials. I’m so glad we live nearby, since go once or twice a week. I often find myself trying to recreate their dishes. Every time we go we always love our meal and our experience. If I’m there with my kid (we go on the early side) the staff is always gracious and warm and not seemingly irritated at the presence of a baby.

    My husband were out celebrating his birthday. We were extremely disappointed by Prime Meats. We had made reservations and the restaurant put us at a table we could hardly get in and out of, next to a very large loud group. I ordered a dirty martini, and we had to send it back because they got the order wrong. We were very disappointed with the portions of food for the price. We would not recommend this restaurant.

    The specials they had on the menu, a sautéed spinach dish and a foie gras, were excellent. We also tried the lamb which was bountiful and the fish was cooked just right. The bonus was the bruschetta with the plum tomatoes. The portions were enough to sample everyone’s selection. Delicious meal.

    I have eaten here several times in the past year. Each time the service and the food seem to go down and the price up. I enjoy the steak frites but for $36.00 the portion of steak was way to small. The help has gotten indifferent to say the least. The choices are small and the deserts nothing to write home about. I like a nice place to eat in a nice neighbhorhood but you better pick up the pace if you want to stay there.

    I've eaten here many times over the years. Not cheap, but the food is unique for this neighborhood (meat intense, mittleuropa cuisine) and well-prepared. The service last week was the poorest I've experienced here - slow and inattentive despite the dining room being only 75% full, and lots of wait staff milling about. Detracted from an otherwise nice meal.

    Our server was very overwhelmed and also there was no a/c... we felt bad for the wait staff working in the heat. The food was excellent though, by far the best steak I've had in the NYC area.

    Came here expecting a great meal; food was horrible; appetizers inedible; pretzel was stale, artichoke overcooked. Our entrees were just ok - nothing to write home about. Steak frites included an incredibly small steak. Thoroughly disappointed. Will not go back.

    This place has a lot of promise. The food is very good, but a few small improvements could make this place special. First, our table rocked the entire meal. My son, who works in the restaurant business, wouldn't let me mention it but it was very annoying. Seems like something you would check. My server was polite but not overly attentive. It was rather warm in our seats and I noticed the overhead fan was not on. I asked the server if the fan could be turned on and he said he would check. That's the last I heard of it. My appetizer was the Octopus Confit. It was superb. I ordered the Steak and Frites. The steak was amazing...small for the price...but the fries were something I could've gotten from Steak-N-Shake. Not impressed. We asked for a desert menu and the server brought us one, not two. Seems like, since there were two of us, we'd get two. Anyway, this place has a lot of promise. I can't judge all the servers by mine but the small things make a BIG difference.

    Although seemingly a steakhouse the only individual steak on the menu was bordering on microscopic; the "frites" that came with it were overly abundant. The menu should list this item as fries and steak not the other way round. The music was blasting making normal conversation nearly impossible; when asked to lower the volume it was lowered for approximately 1 minute and then returned to "earsplitting" The wine list was ridiculous; it listed over a hundred choices but in 2pt type! About an hour after the three of us sat down to eat we got the distinct impression that we were being rushed to make room for the next seating although many of the other tables were empty. I guess their living off their rep. Never again!

    We had Mother's Day brunch here and were not impressed. For the $48.99 per person price point, there just isn't much value here. It was a three course menu. I had the chilled lettuce soup, steak and eggs, and bread pudding. Don't get me wrong, the food was decent, but it wasn't worth $48.99 per person. My wife ordered the blueberry waffles and asked if she could add a side of bacon or sausage so she could have a protein, but was told no. How can you not have a protein with your meal? Coffee and tea were also extra. Brunch at the River Cafe is a better option.

    We went for Mother’s Day brunch. The restaurant confirmed the reservation but never mentioned there was a special pre-fixe menu. They offered no alternative for children, which seems pretty unfriendly for Mothers Day. The food was good, but the service seemed pretty clueless and inattentive, even though there appeared to be a large number of wait staff and runners around. I don’t think I would go back.

    We had the oysters which were excellent plus a salad and some french fries. Just a casual Sunday dinner. I would also recommend the spaetsel ( I think that's how its spelled). Enjoyable meal. They also make a great Scottish Mule.
