Prime Italian Ratings and Reviews
Every Year at the end of our vacation, we pick a nice restaurant for dinner and recap the highlights of our trip and have a nice family dinner.
This year we wanted to surprise my daughter and Son and took them to Prime Italian as they have some of their favorite dishes.
My daughter ordered a pasta dish with a Kobe beef meatball, I ordered a filet mignon (medium) we would share both dishes. After our appetizers, we waited at least 45 minutes if not more for the main courses, TOO LONG! Pasta dish came, Chicken dish came but the steak wasn't ready yet. It took another 7 minutes for it to arrive. When it did, nearly an hour after the apps, I wasn't hungry anymore. I cut into it, and noticed that it was well done. Waitress noticed and said she would replace it with a new one and it would take 8 minutes. I didn't really want it, my daughter was full from the pasta dish but I felt bad so I agreed for her to make me another one. The 8 minutes turned into 17 minutes, I cut into the 2nd Steak and it was raw, seared on the outside, raw and cold on the inside. The waitress immediately noticed, apologized again and asked me if I wanted to pick another meal. I told her it was OK and that I guess the Steak just wasn't meant to be.
The hostess also came to apologize and asked me if I wanted another meal for which I said no thank you.
Given the wait, the mix up with the cooking of the 2 steaks, and how understanding I was about what happened, I thought that they would have offered us tea, coffee and dessert as a good faith gesture. The waitress convinced my daughter to order a dessert and when I got the bill they charged us for the dessert. I was surprised, shocked, and couldn't believe that they were unwilling to do anything as a result of what happened.
Would I go again, probably not. There are many other restaurants who deserve my business and if the Prime chain of restaurants is just too big to care about clients, I guess they don't need my business.
WOW!!! Prime Italian is fantastic! We spent the weekend in Miami Beach to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Out of the 3 dinner restaurants we ate at Prine Italian was by far the very best food and and the most reasonably priced. This was the 1st time a server told us we serve family style, there's enough food to share, and it was the absolute truth. Their preportions are huge! And we like to eat! For 4 adults there was enough food to feed 8 people. And everything was excellent from the delicious bread and Caesar salad to the chicken Parmesan, Kobe meatball and spagetti, and lasagna. The leftovers were just as good the next day. This was by far the best Italian restaurant we've been to in years. Prime Italian is the kind of family owned great Italian restaurant you'd only find in New York. It's fabulous and the next time we're in Miami, this will be the first restaurant we go to.
The food was good but the service was really bad. Our server did not come to our table once to ask us how was our food, if we needed something else the manager. We also saw the manager complaining with her (not because of us) and it surprised me because the restaurant was not busy at all. Food was good. Service was bad. Is sad because I would not back just because of their service.
Prime Italian was fantastic. The food, ambiance and especially the service were amazing. We ordered the Swordfish special (extremely tasty, not over cooked ) with the right amount of vegetables and risotto to compliment. The waiter recommended a seafood platter with just enough of an assortment for my date and I to taste and share. Wasn't a fan of the Poke tuna but the crap, shrimp cocktail and oysters were terrific. Unfortunately I can't remember the waiter's name and don't want to guess but they guy went over and beyond to make sure we were happy and provided the best service. I tipped him well.
We visited Prime Italian for my daughter's 14th birthday and had a terrific meal. This restaurant was highly recommended for a special event or just a great Italian meal in Miami, and we will certainly recommend this restaurant to our friends in the future. Everything we ate was expertly prepared! Thank you for a memorable afternoon!
Everything here was phenomenal. The Kobe meatballs are highly recommended by the waiters and by my group. The portions are large, for my party of 4 we split shrimp cocktail, a salad, the meatball, and two entrees. I couldn't stop eating even after I was full, and our waiter was knowledgeable, relatable, and extremely accommodating.
Extensive Menu and good food throughout the selections. Just about had them all over the years. However, they have some 'new' initiative that asks their guests to order the appetizer and entree together at the same time. No more ordering appetizer while you scan the extensive menu. I personally don't like being told how to order from a restaurant. Very uncomfortable. With this exception, it's a good restaurant.
A ripoff at its best! Being French and a foodie, I regularly eat at high end restaurants as well as reasonably priced establishments. My wife wanted to try this restaurant with the kids for Mother's Day. Let's cut to the chase, the food is nothing special, neither good nor bad and considering that, very, very overpriced. My son ordered a risotto which ended up costing $60 simply because they added a miserable portion of truffle on top of it. My penne with vodka sauce was $30 and the tiramisu did not taste at all like one with absolutely no hint of coffee or espresso to it and it was super dry. The waitress was hard to find every time we needed her attention and we needed to ask at least 3 times where she was. Anyway, $500 later, I feel robbed and taken advantage of. I really don't mind paying hundreds even thousands of dollars for a good restaurant but paying that kind of money for such a poor culinary experience is just a typical south beach ripoff. To be avoided!
