Good atmosphere but that was all, overpriced food, over sized tasteless portions. We left 80% of our meal. Disappointing
Be warned portions are for sharing
We were disappointed with our experience, having been here a number of times before.
To begin, the waiter immediately told us that there was a limit on the number of bottles of wine someone could bring, despite the hostess not mentioning this on the phone. Next, it took 10-15 minutes for the server to return to our table to take our appetizer orders; this is simply unacceptable. Then, the table servicemen took away our bread without asking if we were done and began cleaning up everyone’s bread plates.
The quality of the dinner (meatballs, chicken parm, penne pastas, prosciutto plate, etc.) was great, but the service and experience left a lot to be desired tonight. Tonight’s service never would have flown across the street at 112.
Extremely large portions. One entree could be shared by 4 people. The food is very good.
Perfect. Best Italian
Food was awesome!!
I am Italian so I am very critical of Italian food everything was awesome!!
The meatballs, Fried Mozzarella, Clam Pizza, Chicken Parm, Fried Oreos !!
Everything we ordered was excellent!!!
Restaurant wasn’t busy and we were rushed
Meatballs as big as your head and so tasty!! The service was terrific and we felt like are waiter was very attentive and friendly.
We were in South Beach on a business/personal trip. We loved the scenery and the people watching. Not to mention the delicious meal I had with a potential client. Would recommend to anyone traveling to South Beach.
Big portions, great location. Nice for people watching. Food is good, but not WOW. Even though we sat outside, the noise level was way too high to carry a conversation.
Service was great but the food is simply mediocre overall.
Portions too large but food excellent
I didn’t really like my side dish with my steak and waiter never came by to ask me if i enjoyed my dinner.
Also never seen a Caesar Salad with chick peas but it was ok.
Lastly went to use your washroom and someone had thrown up everywhere and no one came in to clean it up for a while and it was disgusting.
The food is great! Our server very good as well. The bad note of the evening was the hostess, impatient, didn't tried to accommodate our needs, bad body language...
So close to the best
This was our first time at Prime Italian. We went per recommendations of some friends and locals. We sat outside, beautiful patio. Our server was nice enough but very busy and not very attentive. I’m a vegetarian, so obviously I couldn’t indulge in the steaks or seafood prime offered. I love gnocchi, so I was excited to try the Parmesan gnocchi. It was awful. It was so soft and underdone, I felt like I was eating pasta dough. I took one bite and didn’t touch it. The server was too inattentive to notice I didn’t touch my meal, and I’m also not the type to complain or call a manager. Disappointing experience for $200.
Our server, Tyrese was very nice and accommodating. The food was good but I think the service was better.
I’ll start off by saying that our server was very knowledgeable on the cuisine. Kudos for that. Started with a raspberry martini, loved it. However the food was a letdown. I ordered ONE west coast oyster and it was not fresh. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Second round I went for a Bellini. It arrived to the table with an unknown particle floating in it. For my main course I ordered one of the sea bass specials that came with a Parmesan risotto. Again, upon smelling and tasting the fish, I found that it too was not so fresh. My boyfriend opted for the branzino and upon realizing the disgusted look on my face decided to switch dishes with me. Because the branzino only came with an arugula salad on the side I decided to order a side of broccolini. The server accidentally sent out regular broccoli which seemed to be tasteless. At this point we were about an hour and a half into our dinner and I had lost my appetite from the entire experience. On a positive note the branzino was good. Would I return for it? Probably not.
Food was good, huge portions (ridiculous for 2 people), I was really excited to try the deep fried Oreos, but since I only had 3 bites of my entree and was overly full, we left before dessert.
What I noted right away was there were a ton of wait staff and not a single one was smiling. All looked like they were annoyed/gotten a verbal thrashing at the staff meeting. Our waiter couldn’t care less about our table and it showed. He competently served us, but that was it.
Decided to have a Great dinner after seeing a jazz show in Miami. Many thanks to Fred Wright for coming over to say hello & remembering our names.
Food was great, service standoffish and cold and grumpy, crowd was random.
Very good food, large portions, energetic atmosphere.
Another solid restaurant from the same group that created Prime 101. Very good and authentic Italian food. For their price point and clientele, I expected them to step out of the box and be a bit more creative in their approach to the food. Again, if was very good and authentic, but so are many other good Italian restaurants. Coming from Prime, I was looking for a more unique flair.
My wife and I went there for dinner last night and the service was TERRIBLE !! We complained to the manager and all he did was make excuses . I will not recommend this restaurant also a car hit a light post right next to the restaurant just as we left
The best restaurant in Miami. Not often do you find a place with this level of detail, sommelier, ambiance, and quality food. Celebrity spotting is great too
Although we had a reservation we still waited a half hour. But that was nothing compared to others waiting. The front hostess is extremely unorganized and they have nothing in place to sit everyone in a timely organized fashion. Once we sat down everything was fantastic! Wine, food, our waiter Zalto all perfect!
Excellent quality food. A great place to go for Italian and steaks when in Miami. Has a NY vibe to it.
Food is always excellent avoid weekends when they over book and under deliver
We should not have to wait over an hour when we have a reservation
We should not have to Fight to seek out the staff for a table if a table opens come get us
We were seated at the door to the kitchen - extremely busy and disruptive! The food was fantastic! The best was the tomatoes in the salad - they actually tasted like tomatoes!!! Very large and very shareable servings of everything. My fetuchi with three jumbo shrimp was fantastic - my wife had shrimp scampi- her shrimp were more chewed, mine like small lobster! Service was helpful in making decisions and warned us of portion sizes!
Had reservations to celebrate a birthday at 7:30 on a Friday. We were seated right away. The bread appetizer they give you is absolutely delicious. We ate the chicken Parmesan and the spaghetti with Kobe meatball. The portions were HUGE, we took half the food home. The fried Oreos are a must! Only complaints is that they don’t sing happy birthday and the chicken Parmesan doesn’t come with spaghetti, which we didn’t know. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend!
Ate at the bar, large portions- order less than you would normally- yummy
Great food. Ok service
We waited in a long line for 30 minutes to check in and watched people go around and cut in front and get checked in before us.
9:00 reservations and waited an hour in an overcrowded room to be seated only after we checked on out reservation because they weren’t even going to seat us.
I feel the food is good, the waiters were nice, but the process itself to be seated is very disorganized.
Not a good experience to say the least.
On holiday on Miami. First visit to this restaurant. It was chaos. It took more than 15 minutes to check in with the hostess for our 8:30 reservation and we were on time. Lousy table where we kept getting bumped by wait staff and diners alike. Most expensive meal and not worth it.
My wife and I live in Fort Lauderdale
We like to visit south beach for time away from the kids
Prime Italian was always are regular go to restaurant.
The management has changed. I cannot explain enough how horrible the customer service was last night
We showed up 15 minutes early for an 830 reservation
At 9:30 our table was still not ready
We had pleaded with the hostess that we had an 11:00 show and could not continue to wait
Her response was sorry the boat show is in town and many were late for their reservations
She could not make them leave. I spoke with the manager and he had an is what it is attitude
We had to leave after waiting an hour an 15 minutes
Also please note the hostess lied several times
Told us to wait wear she could see us because we were next. That went on for an hour
Many of you regulars might remember the previous GM., Steve Mann, (Budda)
He was awesome and would never let something like this happen.
You ruined ours and many other customers night prime Italian
We won’t be back
This was an awful experience. Arrived at 8pm for an 8pm reservation. Waited 20 minutes to check-in and then was told it would be at least half an hour til we could sit. Very rude hostess. Food not worth the wait. Find another place to eat!
Very satisfied with quality of food and service. Only complaint is that you were out of special for the night.
First timer - food was excellent. Didn’t like the table they had put us at first and they remedied it immediately.
Fantastic food. Great service.
