Prime Italian Ratings and Reviews
Went with my 2 children ages 19 and 23 on a Sunday night. I have been to the restaurant before and I have been to Prime 112. All my other experiences were good. My kids ordered pasta which was average at best and I ordered the 22 ounce ribeye. I ordered it medium rare and it came medium well. I wasn't going to complain but the waiter Michael (who was excellent) came over and asked me how it was and I told him. He sent the manager over who insisted that I send it back and have it prepared the way I wanted it. I said that would be fine. After about 10 or 15 minutes they returned with another steak that was close to still being alive. It was so raw that even the waiter was shocked. The manager came over and asked what they could do I said forget it I'm really not that hungry at this point. This is a high end restaurant that charges $65 for that cut of meat and for them to not be able to cook it right twice is embarrassing. I understand that you can have a bad night which is ok but they didn't even offer a complimentary dessert or after dinner drink which I ordered and paid for. They didn't charge me for the steak which I couldn't eat but even without the steak charge the bill with tip came to over $300 for 3 people. If you want good Italian food go to Coral Gables and eat at Cafe Abbracci or Il Gabbiano in Brickell. Total disappointment and will not being going back.
When we arrived the staff was not very friendly. The place was not busy and there staff was standing around and not being very helpful. Our server brought out some bread for our table which was soon removed before we order our meal. We felt very rushed even though the tables were empty. The food was served like warm and is surely not worth the price at this prime location. I would not recommend dining at the Italian prime resturant. Hopefully the prime steaks house does a better job at providing a fine dining experience for there customer's.
Love Prime Italian. My only complaint is that my wife and I were in Miami for a week and ate here twice. That's how much we love it. Every time we are in Miami we eat here once or twice.
The first night the tab was $300 for two and my wife and I don't drink much.
The second night the tab was $375 with tip because I ordered the 4.5 lb lobster.
Now my complaint.......and I'll begin with the fact that I completely understand but it still sucks when you spend $3-400 on dinner for
Two and get squished into a tiny table next to the window that they can't even fit all of the food onto.
The first night was a Thursday and we were seated at a 4 chair table and it was great. The second night we were pinned against the window with a 4.5 lb lobster on the table. Those tables suck. The end but we'll be back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Prime Italian to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant had a warm, welcoming ambience. The one pound meatball did not disappoint and the lasagna was amazing! A little pricey, but portions are hearty! I would definitely go back again, but would likely share an entree.
We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and we certainly were not treated with less respect than anyone ordering from the regular menu. The device was attentive and we were not rushed. The bread was amazing. I am glad we were not asked if we wanted more because I could have eaten the entire loaf. Appetizers were also good and not skimpy. The main course Kobe meatball was delicious. One person at the table ordered the short rib. It was a rather small portion. Fried Oreos is a must!
When we arrived the staff was not very friendly at all. The place was not crowded and there was staff standing around and not being helpful or courteous for how slow they were. Our server was very nice and helpful, but as far as everyone else, it felt like my wife and I were more of a chore and a burden than customers. Throughout we felt very rushed even though there was no wait and half the tables were empty. Food was fine, nothing special. Overall it was a strange experience.
We went for dinner and although the food and service were excellent, I felt that because we ordered from the Miami Spice menu that we were rushed through dinner. We sat down after the table next to us and in less than an hour we were brought the check and they were starting dessert. I would definitely come back but not for Miami Spice.
Haven't gone back to PI for many years, preferring both 112 and fish. But decided to try the spice menu. My opinion hasn't changed... very bad Italian food. Only go for the P 112 staples: shrimp, steak, sides, fried orios. There Italian food is below what u find on ocean Ave or Lincoln road at very high prices.
Great dinner... wasn't a great start with hostess, I didn't catch her name not that it mattered but she was a little less than welcoming. Aside from that initial bad taste from there the night was great! We had a 9:00pm reservation and were a little early, hostess was disappointed we didn't want to sit outside, told her we would wait for something indoors. In the mean time we had a few drinks at the bar which were enjoyable. Old Fashions were made with a large ice cube and definitely strong. We were sat down a little after 9:00 which was fine and started off with fried mozzarella and 500 day aged prosciutto. Highly, highly recommend both! Also their garlic bread with marinara was tasty. For entrees we ordered the sea bass which was a special served on risotto. The special fra diavolo was also very good. The sausage and ricotta stuffed meatball was massive and delish. For a side we ordered brocolli rabe, slightly more bitter than to my liking. As for dessert the chocolate marshmallow rolled cake was amazing. Totally better than the fried Oreos. Kind of like a big hoho. It was so good, if you love chocolate and marshmallow, it's a must! Can't wait to go back!
We arrived at 6 for our 6 o'clock reservation but the rude hostess kept saying I have you for 630 regardless of how many times I said my reservation is at 6. I'm about to show her my email confirmation when she said, I really don't care what your email says, my system says 630. Mind you, the restaurant had several available tables. That was the only part of the whole thing that sucked! We got sat and food was amazing! Server was awesome! Busboy was polite. The rest of the night was fantastic!
