The portion size is way too big. Food is OK, but not great and we had a table at a very busy intersection with people coming in and out all evening.
On a six day vacation I went there 2X. Since the Baked Rigatoni with Sausage was soo good, I needed to ga and try the signature dish, Chicken Parm. Since the portion feeds 2-3, I made my wife who doesn't even like parm share... WELL it was the BEST she or I have ever had. Do not be scared by the prices since almost every meal feeds 2.
For dessert we had the HO_HO That could feed 4!
This place is a cant miss choice if you are visiting Miami Beach
Terrible service Waited 45 minutes for a drink Then they switched the waiter Bread came no bread plates .
Fish came went back as it was sour Ordered chocolate cake for dessert brought red velvet . Offered to comp dessert and the fish and even that the waiter couldn't get right on the bill . Overall a very poor experience
Food came out so fast we did not have a chance to enjoy our meal.
Ordered the lobster and it was terribly overcooked. However the manager did not charge us for this dish
We actually never had dinner. We had an 8:30 reservation and arrived to a 30-40 minute wait. After an hour we left and never even received a text about our table becoming available for the entire night. Totally awful and unacceptable, we went home having not eaten dinner.
Waited an hour with a reservation. Food was mediocre at best, has gone downhill from past years.
Everything was outstanding!
There was no valet and worse they acted as though they didn’t even see you, a simple courtesy of acknowledgement because you are sold out would have sufficed. The food was ok. The drinks were excellent.
The food was solid. We had calamari as an appetizer which was mediocre. I enjoyed my carbonara and my date enjoyed his steak. The mac and cheese side was very good. We were extremely disappointed when we ended up waiting a full hour past our reservation time to even be seated. If a restaurant is going to take reservations, I do expect them to book within reason for their capacity.
I had reservations for 9:30pm but was not seated until 11pm. It was Valentines night so that maybe was an exception. I still give this place 5 stars because of the quality of food and the professionalism of the waiters outside.
Great Valentines dinner
Great service and food, server was very friendly and out going. For sure will go again and will bring some family and friends.
It was an all around excellent Valentine’s Day Dinner
It’s a beautiful restaurant with good food, but Waitress was condescending. She was judging us over not ordering Desert?
Great - a perfect meal
Ate outside. Can’t stress enough that the portions are HUGE. Not sure anyone could finish a single portion of Pasta.
Baked Rigatoni with Sausage was delicious.. expensive for paste but for 2! No problem.
Highly recommended this
Very, very New York. Energetic, a certain crowd, frenetic service, big prices but in this case huge portions. While warned that such was the case, the sizes which often were meant for 4 and could not or would not be pared down and priced for 2, were too much even for a huge appetite. Entree specials at $65 each. $10/shrimp if you wanted a shrimp cocktail. Those same huge shrimp were in my $48 Scampi( 6 of them and they were like rubber) with an upgrade to linguine for another $10, instead of the normal bread used to soak up the sauce. The portion was easily enough for 3 adults and in no way resembled a Scampi. The sauce was tomato based. I like tomato based sauces with seafood so did not complain. My dining partners baked rigatoni was equally huge even by American standards.
A lopsided expensive wine list was also a challenge. When asked why so North American, I was told the clientele didn’t know much about non American wines. Somehow that explanation seemed exactly right as I looked around.
If you like huge portions, priced equally hugely, and frenetic service surrounded by a very interesting clientele, the restaurant is worth the trip. The food was in fact good. Too bad there was so much going on to distract from it.
We got screwed on the tip as the server did not advise us that gratuity was included. I’m fine over paying on a tip when the service warrants it. The service was mediocre at best and did not warrant what we tipped her.
Went there for a birthday dinner for my fiancé. In hindsight, I should’ve paid attention to the ratings on yelp. But I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt considering the weight their brand name holds.
Upon arrival we were sat down down inside. The ambiance is nice. Not quiet, but not annoyingly loud. We were given their garlic bread while we looked at the menu. I love garlic bread, but I think it’s safe to say they ruined it for me. The bread was not hot, even though it was brought out in foil, and it was extremely chewy. It felt as if it was just sitting out and it may have been cooked hours prior.
To start off we ordered the calamari. This dish was mediocre at best. Every restaurant does calamari different, and every person likes it cooked a certain way. I like mine very crispy and these were just soft and soggy. Absolutely disgusting.
For our main course we ordered: filet mignon, chicken parmesan, and some sides of mushrooms and Alfredo gnocchi. Of all these dishes, the Alfredo gnocchi was probably the best and edible. The chicken Parmesan had a rubbery texture and was not edible at all. The filet mignon was nothing special, even though the server touted that steaks there are from Prime 112. And the mushrooms were decent, but once again nothing special.
Overall, I would say this place is not worth it whatsoever. Their prices are astronomical but it’s south beach so it’s expected. However, for what you pay and the location, you should at least expect fine dining. There are Italian restaurants all over Miami which are more affordable, but more importantly, the food is substantially better. This place is just an embarrassment to Italian cuisine.
Love the indoor and outdoor seating. The bread was so yummy and perfect for cheese lovers. We ordered the veal parmigiana and chicken Marsala and they were both quite delicious. Five star service and plentiful portions to share.
Food, service and ambiance were top notch. Heaters on patio made an outdoor dinner comfy. Perfect for a date night!
Way overbooked, intentionally by the restaurant. not all that.
I made a reservation quite a while in advance , specifically for inside the dining room. Upon arrival I was seated outside and it was noisy and crowded , I was disappointed to not have eaten in the dining room. The steak was amazing as always.
Great time, food was amazing. Service felt a little rushed.
The only reason I gave 4 starts for value is that we were way too full to eat everything. Too much food!! So good.
Overall just plain ordinary/below average food. The spaghetti and (huge) meatball was below average, the veal chop overcooked, the chicken Parmesan was average. Caesar salad has soggy with too much dressing. Our side of linguini alli olio was outstanding as was the fried Oreo dessert. Service was excellent. Overall, disappointing.
The quality and friendliness of service only served to enhance the amazing food and drink. Obviously, let’s of people watching and vitality go along with being on one of the best corners in South Beach.
Food was great
Server was friendly helpful and pleasant
Too expensive and portions too large.
Best bread pre-meal ever! Great Caesar salad and enough chicken parm for several people. Penne vodka okay too. Outdoor table was practically on top of the table next to us. Waitress had her hands full and kitchen was definitely swapped. Service on the slow side but we weren’t in any rush.
Amazing restaurant and service. Our daughter is in school at the U and we always make time to eat at Prime Italian.
The deserts rock as well. We have great restaurants in Omaha, but not on the same scale as Prime. Awesome experience!
My experience is very good.
Absolutely terrible place . Cold and tasteless food. Loud and crowded. Waste of time and money.
Enjoyable outside dining (great please to people watch) service very professional, fish & pasta were
excellent. Nice wine list.
The food was amazing and the service was on point. I’m looking forward to returning soon.
Great food! But, waiter never told us about portion sizes! Caesar salad feeds 6! Mozzarella & tomato feeds 4! Branzino feeds 2-3! We over ordered so much not knowing portion sizes were massive and probably overpaid well over $100! Will go back but definitely adjust ordering.
Everything was perfect:)
