Primavista Ratings and Reviews
I was looking for a restaurant in the Cincy/Covington area that had an open reservation for the early dinner hour. The Opentable app allowed me to seamlessly place my request, with the assurance that my reservation was indeed confirmed. The dining experience turned out to be everything my friend I could have wished for, and more! The food was superb, the ambience elegant yet cozy, and the venue was even conveniently located near our theatre of choice for the evening. Thank you.
This was our first time at Primavista and we will definitely be returning! We were out celebrating our anniversary and everything was wonderful! Our table was right by the window so we could see the Cincinnati skyline which was nice for pictures. Our waiter (Anthony) was also wonderful and took time to walk us through the menu despite it being very busy. Service far exceeded expectations.
I loved primavista. I loved my food and the atmosphere. I was really disappointed by our waitress. I felt like she was rude and thought she was too good to be a waitress. She acted insulted when I asked for butter. She just turned around and walked away. When she came back to the table I asked again she said " i said YES". Then she said she went to get it (whoever "she" was). My date asked for A1 she gave him less then half a tiny cup. When he asked for more she said that was all that was in the bottle. Ill have to see if i can find some more. There might be some down stairs. Im just thinking we dont care just go get it like you should have the first time. Sheesh. My date wished you had baked or mashed potatoes. I ordered the chicken and it was perfect and I love the blue cheese sauce that came with it.
I was disappointed, the meatballs (veal) and capellini was tasteless, the meatballs were so dry and cold, I was not impressed with the sauce and capellini. I paid an extra 8 dollars for a a plate of mixed greens in dire need of dressing. The busboys were attentive and the waiter was fine. Towards the end some gentleman came to the table and asked how was dinner, still not sure who he was.
My sister comes from Phoenix to visit me in Cincinnati twice a year and we always make reservations at Primavista for her last night here. Never have had a disappointing dinner . The service is wonderful and the view fantastic. It is our favorite place to go. Don't ever let the chef, Chris Prince get away from you.
The location is the best in the city of Cincinnati. I have always had wonderful meals prepared at PrimaVista. The service is outstanding. Get an early reservation so you can at a table in front of the window overlooking the skyline as evening sets. It is magical! This is the restaurant to bring persons you want to impress.
We went to Primavista to celebrate a birthday before going out to a show at the Aronoff. Arriving early, we were able to be seated at the bar and try one of their signature cocktails. The bartender made excellent recommendations and helped set the tone for a wonderful evening. We were seated at one of the window tables and had a great view of the city. Our waitress was attentive and gave sage advice regarding items on the menu. Meal service was prompt. Portions were generous without being overwhelming. The flavor profiles were authentic while maintaining a new creativity. We were able to enjoy appetizers, entrées, and dessert while still making it to the show with plenty of time. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for romantic Italian.
we arrived a few minutes early for our reservation but were seated promptly at an excellent table
we were greeted promptly by our waiter who reviewed the nightly specials for us
i asked to substitute a side dish of pasta for the polenta that came with my veal dish and the waiter indicated that this could be accomodated for a dollar or two extra, my wife did the same
when the meal came, the veal was excellent, but i had to cut my very small portion of pasta with a knife because it was all stuck together
then the bill came and we were charge $7 each for the very small pasta side dish, so my $31 veal piccata cost $38
so, i would say that the view and setting of the restaurant were excellent; the service was good; for the most part the food was good, but the prices are way too high for what you get
As always, the food is flawlessly prepared. Two of our guests were new diners at Primavista and they're eager to return. Tonight's special dessert of the dark chocolate custard was absolutely delicious. Lois brings elegant, friendly service to the table all throughout the evening.
I took my wife there for our anniversary. First of all, make sure you make a reservation, this place is busy. There is parking across the street, and there is a valet.
The view: This is a really cool vantage point to see downtown Cincinnati. We went at night, and was amazing.
The food. Oh my! Where do we start? They have an awesome Vegetarian and Vegan menu. We tried the Goat cheese, honey, and rosemary oil bruschetta for an appetizer - it came with four pieces, and was delicious. The bread was fresh, and served with an olive oil and garlic puree. My wife had an Arugula salad. She really liked the dressing.
For our mains, I tried their Ravioli with mushrooms and tomato basil. Best tomato sauce I ever tried. Excellent! My wife had the Risotto with Arborio rice, Parmesan and exotic mushrooms. I tried a bite, it was to die for, so full of flavor! She really loved it.
We finished off our evening with dessert. My wife and I shared the bread pudding. I judge Italian restaurants on the quality of their desserts, and this was really great, out of this world!
It was a great evening, no complaints, and we will return!
This is a great spot for abience and the view - may be the best in the city. The food is pretty good - though heavy on veal options. If you're looking for what I would call grandma's Italian, this may not be the place for you, look over the menu before booking. The tables are a little bit one on top of the other which can get a little annoying. But overall we enjoyed ourselves and will go back.
