Primavista Ratings and Reviews
I've been here a handful of times over the past few years. One of the 2 best Italian restaurants in Cincinnati. Food was excellent and service was above average. They were hosting a large party, and had the courtesy to seat us on the other side of the restaurant (without us asking) for some privacy and quiet, which we greatly appreciated. View of downtown Cincinnati is a nice touch as well.
Will definitely be going back sometime soon!
Primavista was a lucky find -- it was Friday and I was looking for a highly-rated restaurant for Saturday night while we were visiting Cincinnati. The interesting ones downtown only had times available very early or quite late. Then I came across Primavista, a bit out of the way but worth the drive. My appetizer was a small lobster tail on a delectable cream lemon sauce. Followed that with Ravioli di Carni ai Funghi, wonderfully rich mushroom and house-made Italian sausage sauce. In addition to the wonderful food, the view of Cincinnati was incredible.
This was our first time at Primavista and we'll definetly go back. The view of the city is amazing and the food was delicious with more than enough to take home. Everyone on staff were friendly and made for a great dining experience. Great spot for a date night.
This dinner was a special occasion, our 45th wedding anniversary. The view was great, the service wonderful, but the table, at the window, was just too small for two to dine. I would have asked, for a different table but the restaurant filled quickly and I didn't want to move from the window view. Although pricey, which I expected, the food was excellent. The wine too, I think was priced too high but again, if you want the food and the ambience you should expect to pay the price.
My wife and I had a fantastic meal at Primavista. We were celebrating her birthday. A friend had recommended the restaurant so we decided to try it and were not disappointed. We had the mussels for an appetizer, a wonderful salad and the entrees were both perfectly prepared. The fresh green beans were great. We will definitely go to Primavista again. It was the best food we have had in the Greater Cincinnati area in the 4+ years we've lived here.
The Cinti. Enquirer printed an article and the Prima Vista was included. We have been coming here for years but it has been a while. Great view and great food. 2 of our group of 4 order the spaghetti w/veal meat balls. It was just "good" not great as the article implied. The pasta was almost fry. Asked for additional to take home left overs. Meat balls were very good. The 2 chicken dishes were outstanding though.
This was my first time going to Primavista, and the view is spectacular and near breathtaking. We (My girlfriend and I) were seated near the windows, which are huge and have a great view. We received our food, appetizer, salad, meal ect.. in a timely fashion but did not seem rushed everything came out at very appropriate time. I would definitely recommend this for a romantic date or any occasion in which you would like to impress someone with out going to the huge $ more well known places. Also a great place to bring someone if you want to show off our city!
We were looking for a place to celebrate a birthday on Sunday. All the great downtown places are closed on Sunday. Then I remembered we used to enjoy Prima Vista for special occasions. I was delighted to find out they were open. We hadn't been there for a few years, but everything was very good.
Prima Vista is our go-to restaurant when our out of town friend comes in. We love the variety and the wine list. In particular, we enjoy the appetizers and the side dishes.... it's possible to be quite satisfied with just a salad and a couple of sides, so it doesn't need to be pricey.
The wait staff is helpful and courteous; attentive without being underfoot.
One thing I would mention is that the chairs are not very comfortable. But that never stops us, and after a bit of wine, who cares!
Once again, PV is simply outstandingly incredible! I took my wife there for our first date in 1999, proposed to her there a year later, and we have been going back ever since on our anniversary. We also take friends and family there every chance we get. It is by far our favorite restaurant, even more so than the former Maisonette and Pigall's and any others you care to name. The menu! The service - professional but not condescending.
I made reservations for a special occasion,a perfect place to proposed to my girlfriend. I asked for a table for two and a great view. We got much more than that. The food was very good as well as the service. My fianceesaid she wants to return when she comes back to town for a visit. Thanks
Dinner was an overall A-
-Wine list very accommodating
-Calamari app was great
-a la carte Caesar salad definitely worth it
-Veal Marsala very rich but tasty
-Tiramisu was a bit small and way over-garnished (served on a plate w Chocolate and Cocoa powder, topped w whipped cream, and then finished w a drizzling of raspberry sauce) - the Tiramisu itself was very good but why mask it w all the extras?
-View was excellent (of course) but the one-way facing booths are pretty uncomfortable
-Staff was professional and very friendly
First time visitor to this restaurant. Older décor and nothing great about interior, but the view and the food make up for any shortfalls there. Server was great and attentive, prices reasonable and menu was had a broad selection of Italian dishes. A very nice evening.
High expections for both and PrimaVista delivered! Beautiful views of the city were enjoyed while dining on lovely and very tasty presentations of food. Indulge yourself and try the many choices of appetizers. We also shared the insalata between four people and it was delicious. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. We were too stuffed for dessert so we indulged in espresso martinis, a wonderful way to end the meal.
This is another hidden west side gem!
I have also tried their pizza for carryout and they prepared a really good thin crust, wood fired flavor with gourmet toppings.
