Primavista Ratings and Reviews
Second year in a row going to Primavista for our anniversary. The view alone is absolutely worth the drive and price if you're seated during golden/blue hour or sunset. The food is excellent - the veal an obvious specialty - with the bruschetta being the best I've had since Florence. Excellent cocktails and wine selection. Valet parking was quick and courteous.
I set this up as a surprise for my wife and I's 18th anniversary. This was both of ours first time visiting the restaurant, and we were not disappointed at all. The service was top notch, and the food portions were perfect. The reviews helped me pick, and they were spot on. I kept seeing some peoole stated that it was over priced, but I disagree. The pricing is what you would expect for a nice romantic evening with great service, and great food. The location is great as well so you can eat, and head downtown in just a few short minutes to entertain yourselves the rest of the evening.
Party of 4. Service great. Wine selection good. Veal special had some chewy bites. Not common with that cut of meat. Other pasta dishes were great. Cream brûlée dessert was disappointing in that it constituted a very thin glaze across the ramekin dish. May have been excellent but too shallow of a doating on ceramic to tell☹️
My wife and I went for our anniversary and this place was absolutely amazing. The view was breathtaking, the food was some of the best we have had. Strongly suggest the veal meatballs. There was a salmon special going on that was probably one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life. The device was outstanding. I could go on and on about this place. Top notch that is for sure.
Second time here and was really looking forward to this as we came here for my wife's birthday. Food was very good, if not excellent. Service was sub-par at best and really put a damper on the entire meal. I'm not sure if our server was overloaded but the "plunk" with which the bill was dropped on our table as our server walked away was noticed by everyone at the table. Definitely below par...
What a great experience - we were going to be in Cincinnati for just one evening, and found Primavista when looking for a quiet getaway with great food. It hit the mark on both. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was impeccable, views are stunning and the food is absolutely delicious. You must try the goat cheese bruschetta, it's over the top. Our water glasses were never below half-full (and I drink a LOT of water), the waitstaff was attentive to our every need without being annoying. While they were busy, we never felt we were being rushed. Valet parking is a great value -- I just can't encourage you enough to try this place, you will not regret it. We'll now be looking for excuses to go to Cincinnati, so we can return to Primavista! Thank you for an amazing evening!
We love coming to Prima Vista as the food, service, & ambiance is awesome!
The only down is the bar area - so very small as if you did not get a seat at the bar you are in the way. I think the only way to enlarge the bar area would be to add-on to the outside of the building.
Prima Vista is definitely a dining only experience (and a GREAT one at that) as sitting at the bar & relaxing is not really an option.
Dined with a friend on a rainy Friday night in September. View of the river still nice although cloudy. Not a lot of choices on the menu, but what they had all sounded delicious. I ordered the filet mignon medium with optional crab and butter toppings. It was very good, but waitress seemed like not typical toppings even though options listed under the meal on the menu. Quiet atmosphere made it easy to talk. Bathroom stalls very narrow even though big bathroom. Valet service was excellent.
This is the first time I have been here in 17 years and it was an outstanding dining experience. We started with Gnocchi with sautéed rock shrimp, delicious. My wife had the Veal Picatta and I had the chef's Veal special sautéed in a truffle butter. 5 stars! Our waiter, Brian, was very attentive but not obtrusive, excellent service. We will be back soon!
Of course, the view is spectacular. We have dined here many times over a period of years, and found it to be consistently good. We especially love the pasta dishes, but the fresh fish was also very good. A very busy place, even early (6:00) on Saturday night. We'll be back.
What a unique place! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us direction on choices and the wines that would pair best. When I asked if any Gluten Free options he mentioned they had a separate menu (still items that are served regularly from main menu) that took out the guessing game for me! It is very aggravating to read a FULL menu and ask waiter questions at restaurants so this took out any stress. Also learned there is a Vegan + Vegetarian menu as well which is beyond helpful! Small gestures like that do go a long way for a restaurant. The food was excellent along with its portion size.
Overall it was a memorable dining experience and I will be returning. Thank you!
Not at all happy with the table we were given, and the place was empty. We had a 4:30 reservation. Our first time and my friend was from out of town. I had asked for a table with a great view. A couple who was a walk in was seated before us, and we all walked in at the same time. We were seated right next to them. Because of the location of the tables it felt like they were right behind my shoulder. We had different servers, and only a few tables were filled, inly one other party came in while we were there. There was no reason we were seated so close and with a bad view. Our table had a limited view. My friend was right up against a wooden beam so she saw very little of the city, and I couldn't see around it. She would not let me ask for a different table, she is elderly and didn't want the attention. Very, very disappointed with our seating.
The restaurant was very busy so louder than normal but the food is so good it didn't matter. We asked to sit by a window and they accommodated us. Instead of wine, this time we ordered beer. They came out with a bottle and a can and poured it table side. I think for the price, a tap would have been nice. Other than that, we absolutely love the food and the sauces that come on the dishes.
The place is pretty, as is the view. However my filet was burnt on the edges, there was barely any salad dressing on the salad (and the waitress never came back by in time so I could ask for more). The wine was good, but the chocolate martini, not so much. The dessert was delicious. So- mixed reviews. :) It's unlikely we will make a point of returning. But fun for one visit.
The view is spectacular. However the decor is in dire need of an update. Seems dated and worn out. For the prices I would expect a more inviting restaurant. The food is above average but nothing out of the ordinary. $8 fur a mediocre side Cesar salad is a little ridiculous. Service is good. Just kind you're looking at $75 per person
My husband and I were in Cincinnati for the Western Southern Tennis Tournament and we had dinner here after a long day at the tournament. We were so happy we decided to keep this reservation. It was a quiet and really nice meal after a long day. The view is outstanding and the food was very good. Our server was very nice and made quite a few good recommendations. The portions were large. I had a very good arugula salad and the bread pudding was also very good.
Our first visit will NOT be our last. Primavista was the perfect choice for celebrating a special family birthday. Lois, our server, attended to our every need. She was knowledgeable about the menu, sincere in her recommendations, friendly, kind, and patient. The food was delicious and the timing perfect.
I had not been to Primavista for many years and it did not disappoint. The view was as wonderful as ever. We had a special occasion and requested a table with a view when booking (about 3 weeks in advance) : We were pleasantly surprised, because it was 7pm on a Friday, to be placed at a table right by the window. This was much appreciated.
Highs: the bruschetta (we ordered as a pre-appetizer), the cocktails, the gnocchi with shrimp (thanks for serving very hot), the filet (ordered medium rare and cooked to perfection) and the tiramisu. The veal scallopini was good but not wonderful.
There is a vegetarian menu but you have to ask for it and it was not mentioned. This confused us initially because we had seen the vegetarian dishes on the website but then they weren't in the menu. I think it should be either mentioned by the server, or have the content integrated into the main menu, or at least put a footnote in the main menu.
Service was attentive without being overbearing. We loved our evening. Thanks!
