Decent food with friendly staff. Nice seating area with a cozy atmosphere. Pricey parking nearby.

We waited about 10 minutes when the first 2 of our group of 3 arrived. When the hostess finally acknowledged us, she tried to sit us right by the entrance across from a very large party. When we requested to move to a quieter spot, we were accommodated but the third member had been sat at the original table. Our table had no drink menu to begin with, the ordering process occurred only after we flagged someone other than our server down. None of our food or drinks were brought by our server, he only seemed to appear after things were brought to us. The place was not overly busy to begin with so I'm not sure why things seemed to take a long time, nor was it clear as to why our server didn't have time for us. We finally requested the bill from yet another person and finally our server returned to our table to take our dessert order. We are locals, and will not return given this service.

Got there late. Not that full but they had two larger parties so they told us that food orders were delayed by 30 minutes. Saw others complaining since coffees arrived without cream and sugar or took a long time. Food mediocre. Clam chowder was a big bowl of cream and calamari tasted like deep fried white fish. Expensive for what we got.

I usually enjoy the food. The service has recently declined in the past year or so. The servers are very polite and friendly but the service is inefficient. There is little follow-up and after eating, we had to flag down a server to receive the bill. When the bill was delivered, it was for the wrong table. It didn't appear to be busy but perhaps there were other structural issues that management is addressing . I like Prestons and I recommend it. I understand issues occur at times. I will certainly give them another try. The food is usually good.

We went to celebrate Mother's Day and price was no object. This was By Far the Worst dining experience we have had in years! And we dine out a lot. We ordered three different meals - all highest priced items - and all three were dead cold - like refrigerator cold. Congealed sauces and icy food. They remade everything (so they said) and it came back almost as cold but on heated plates and so salty that it was inedible! We left starving and very disappointed. Do not eat here!! They don't even care

Worst restaurant experience EVER! Mother's Day early dinner for 4. One person notified the server she had less than 90 minutes before having to leave, but her salad was so late coming out she had to take it to go, and when she opened the package later, they had not included the shrimp ordered as an added protein! Instead, the shrimp were brought to the table after she had left. Two other diners ordered "Signature Salads" but after half an hour were told the kitchen was out of mustard greens & nuts. We just wanted salad & said they could make it with any greens & it still took over an hour more to be served. The hostess offered to buy drinks for the table but we stated they'd have to do better than that - so she then comped the whole bill. As we were getting ready to leave, another hostess came over to ask if we were ready for the bill! What a terrible waste of our time & a ruined Mother's Day! I'd far rather pay well for a good meal & good service than waste an evening out after having driven 38km to get to a lengthy and totally unsatisfying meal. Preston's should not have stayed open for business when they ran out of ingredients & capable staff. Whoever is in charge does not deserve to be called a restaurateur!

Went in on valentines day due to their regular online menu, found out they only have valentines day menu or bar food. The lady does not like fish food which was the only option. Their regular menu was not available so we left after just ordering drinks. Extremely disappointing.

Ventured into the hotel restaurant for breakfast just as it was ending. The server gave the right recommendation when I asked 'bacon or sausage, which is better'. Bacon definitely was the choice, the toast, oddly was fantastic and the potatoes although simple, were very tasty. Would return and have exactly this.

We tried Prestons for Dine out Vancouver. Excellent value, delicious food, and helpful service. Wine prices are a bit high, but beer and cider are more reasonable.

We came on a Wednesday afternoon for happy hour. The place was almost full at 5 pm! They have a large selection on their happy hour menu. We shared the (non-happy hour) chicken and waffle clubhouse and a kale salad. The waffles are fresh made in-house and the overall dish tasted great. The service was friendly and attentive.

We came here a couple years ago for brunch during the Vancouver Marathon and loved the food and very creative menu. So we decided to come back for lunch last week. Service was mediocre - for a hotel, I would have expected slightly higher customer service and friendliness. Menu looked great. Food was very good. Ambiance and comfort were good. I would return!

We sat in the back while a group was occupying most of the front room. The restaurant was able to accommodate very well both our need for an environment for conversation and the group's need for a fun environment. Our server was very friendly and fast. The fast lunch menu kept its promise of delivering our meals in 12 minutes or less and the food was delicious.

The service was really bad from the moment we entered the place, there was only 2-3 tables full and still took a long time to even place us ( although we had a reservation), the fodd was overpriced for what it actually was, very small portions and not tasty at all. The waiters were not attentive or friendly, requested a taxi at the end, took a while to get there and waited for us one block away from the restaurant!

We had walked passed here many times, liked the ambience from the outside and thought we would try it out. We are vegetarian/vegan and there seemed to be some choices. On a nice evening we are sitting in a booth with lights on so not a great ambience. The food was ok but nothing special. I ordered the Preston salad and it would have taken me the whole night to eat. It was full of dried fruits and nuts that were chewy instead of fresh in July!

Food was very good, but not overly gourmet or "fine dining." Fried cauliflower was a tasty starter, tuna tataki salad was flavourful, but the tuna only so-so. Companion enjoyed his pork chop. Decent wine selection by the glass... and overall, very good value, especially for downtown Van.

We had our Business dinner at Preston's and while the food was very good, the service was terrible. The restaurant was not busy, yet we waited forever for everything. It was some of the slowest service I have ever encountered and will not go back because of it.

This small, elegant restaurant is a find. Unusual are the high-sided padded booths, which afford intimacy or quiet privacy. I had the Tuna tatziki, perfectly tender with noodles and slaw. My husband had the hangar steak with fingerling potatoes and veggies. Meals were healthy and perfectly sized. Excellent service. Would come back for any meal.

The Family style menu made it easy to share platters. It was great for that. I wouldn't recommend it for just two people, it is more suitable for groups. The service was great and the food was terrific!

Confusion about the reservation so we were seated in a weird location.

Server was very inexperienced. You don't put the cap back on a bottle of wine! Also, don just immediately pour after opening, sample must be first. Few other weird things.

Good food though!

I believe I heard great things from this restaurant from various individuals, and discovered first hand that it is mostly hype. The claims of amazing food or original creativity I had heard, had no basis. This is basically a pub that looks like some posh London or NY lounge.

Service was quite good. Food was just average pub fair at best, which you could get anywhere. Nothing special about this menu. Not in any way memorable.

Went for lunch with a client, ordered from the quick lunch menu, and proceeded to wait 40 minutes forthe food to arrive. All this despite there only being 4 tables occupied during the entire meal. My crispy chicken burger was acceptable, though it came with only a pinch of shoestring fries (aka hickory sticks), and a thimble of coleslaw. Not exactly great value for $14. My client had a burger, with cheese and bacon added on with a side of actual fries, which came to $22. Ouch. Overall the experience was underwhelming to say the least.

We didn't know what to expect popping in for Dine Out Vancouver, but we were pleasantly surprised. The bartender greeted us at the door by chance and was great for conversation and the cocktails that followed. Our server was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about each dish - not an ounce of ego or condescension as she explained the ingredients and complexity of each dish. We felt like they were taking us on their ride and there was a sense of pride around some of the best food we've had in Vancouver.
