Service was horrible. Food was served cold and the orders were incorrect.
Waiter was rudeand rushed us to leave
The food is great. We had been before when there was a nice restaurant space. We were told they would re open with same chef and improved look. The food is now served in lobby with bright lights and screaming children. The service is bad, and 20 percent added to bill. It's a shame. The chef deserves better!!!
Appetizers were decent. Octopus not good at all. None of us enjoyed our entrees. Sorry would not go back
Incredibly wonderful service; had a group of 10 and they called ahead to see if I wanted to pre-order appetizers - which I did and made a great impression on my business clients. Everyone enjoyed their food and the portions were good. We were staying at Loews at conference and the location was perfect right after meetings and before "free-time"; service was steadfast, room wasn't too noisy that we could have conversation down the whole table. Overall, would come here again.
Good but not great. It's worth another visit to try something different on menu.
Our meal did not come out as we ordered ... one problem after another .
Very disappointing considering we are staying at the hotel this restaurant is located in.
This restaurant has delicious food, great service and is reasonably priced for a high end restaurant. Highly recommended!
I Will not come back. Service is really not at the level should be. We have never got our meat knives and our questions have been mainly unattended.
At breakfast we ordered grits with spinach and shrimp sausage. Admittedly we were being gastronomically daring but hey it was a long weekend holiday and it was the Lowe's on Miami Beach where we were dining. The first bite was inviting. After that it became what it was --- a pedestrian dish. the only thing worse? A pedestrian meal of mushy grits and a (yes only one) weird sausage made of shrimp and spinach cost around $30 bucks. The tab for two plates of this mush plus two Mimosas? Around $80 bucks including tip (automatically added at near 20%) and tax. Gasp! Punished for our extravagance. The good part of the meal? A cheerful server. The other good item? We never have to go there again!
The waiter did not pay proper attention to our table for 9, due to either understaffing or incompetence. Our drinks took forever and the food even longer. A majority of the table ordered steaks, most were overcooked, and all of them were cold. One of my guests did not receive his dinner until 12 minutes after the rest of us did, and it was the only hot entree any of us received. Desserts and coffees were served in an appropriate timeframe and were delicious.
One comment about the menu--for a restaurant touted as a steak house, the selection of cuts of meat were limited. The only way to get a filet was to order a very expensive surf and turf dish, and the only ribeye was "for two" at a menu price of $140.
If you're staying at this hotel, Preston's does a fine job for breakfast but my advice is to take a walk or a cab somewhere else for dinner. Very disappointing.
We were here for a conference and returning from an outside reception were very late for dinner, like the last one in the restaurant late. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.
Service and the food
The service was incredible. Pedro is one of the best waiters we've ever had. If you need suggestions, ask him he's great! The food is delicious and they had live music the night we went. Everything was perfect except the restaurant was empty. I don't know why it would be, we were impressed and had a lovely dinner . I hope this review helps fill it up.
We got to this well designed room early for dinner and there was almost nobody in the room. Yet it still took about half an hour to be served a couple of steaks. But the delicious mashed potatoes were ice- cold and were replaced after a bit. Took a long time to get the check. But the staff was friendly when they came by. A little more energy on their part would be a helpful thing.
We went for Valentine's Day dinner! Great meal, elegant yet child friendly, great service!
I was at Preston's for a business lunch recently. I must say that I cannot even remember the food because the level of service we received was so terrible. Our waiter was EXTREMELY rude to us, spoke very quietly, and shouted angrily when we did not hear him. He also never came to check on us or clear the table. When we asked him to take a picture of the group of us (business associates we met for the first time) he responded no, as he was too busy... the restaurant wasn't even that busy!!
The lunch was okay - not a huge selection and not worth the price you pay.
We had a wonderful experience at Prestons. We sat outside overlooking the pool on a perfect evening. Pedro was our waiter and he provided us with recommendations and service that went above and beyond. The Cuban sliders were fantastic I would highly recommend them.
Food was excellent, service was very good, and the place was very quiet. Hostess made a point of sitting groups away from each other so it was easy to carry on a quiet conversation. Recommend the grilled salmon, the accompanying ratatouille was outstanding. Wine list is a bit expensive. I love Opus One, but not $400 worth.
Overlooking the pool, with the sea right after it, Preston's is a great option if you're up for an informal lunch. In our case, a delicious burrata heirloom tomato salad tomato was followed by a tasty, generous hamburger. The prices were ok, considering the hot spot, the season (the week berween Christmas and New Year's) and that it is, afterall, Miami.
Their lighting on the palm trees is spectacular. Good, tasty food; plentiful and pleasantly served. Good choices to pick from. The food and atmosphere are designed to please the customer. A winning combination! Service is excellent also.
I'll be back for sure.
Preston's is an expense account/business lunch kind of place. We had 2 people and lunch was almost 2 hours long based on very slow service and both entrees being incorrectly delivered.
This was our first time here and the whole experience was a good one. Food was delicious but very pricey. The service was also excellent. We look forward to going back.
It was raining, a convention was in the hotel, and Preston's is the only dining location. The staff was graceful under pressure and warned us that the wait for food was at least on half an hour, which we appreciated the heads up. Food was good, nothing spectacular. My husband had a turkey club and I had the Caesar salad.
Not fit for foodies. Average restaurant in a pricey venue. Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives would have a hard time finding anything appealing.
Prestons had a very nice Miami Spice luncheon menu. The snapper was very fresh and cooked perfectly. As it was Labor Day weekend, they seemed to be shortstaffed and service was a little slow. The food was well prepared. Would try it again.
During our stay at Loews, we went to Preston's for my husbands 50th Birthday dinner. We had a table overlooking the pool and beach. The weather was perfect and so was the service and food! Great place to have a dinner experience for romantic dinners as well as a nice family dinner just a wonderful place we will be back soon.
That says it all. The hotel is awesome but the restaurant is not. The beach houses much better restaurant for the price. Definitely to elsewhere.
I thought Preston's was fantastic, we felt really looked after by our waiter Darrell, they even brought us complimentary champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. Food was great.
This place is great. Food, service and a view all incredible and at a decent price (especially for the location and demand). Only drawback is that valet is expensive, but they validate half off. Try and take a cab over if you're close by. Go here.
The place is beautiful, right next to the hotel pool with a beach view if you eat outside. The service was great but the food was ok. We had the watermelon mojito which was amazing!
Came with children. Order didn't arrive as ordered. Computer with movies--one worked, one didn't causing one child a bad experience.
Exquisite food in a dressy casual atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Preston's !
To the place's credit, we picked a bad day. It rained so we had to be moved inside half way through our meal. The live music was mediocre. The food was good but expensive for what it was. One got the feeling one was paying for the chi-chi location - South Beach - more so than the food. The saving grace was our server, Ralston, who tried to compensate for the negatives.
We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to give this restaurant a try based on the outside appearance of the hotel (looked like a nice spot to have dinner). Although the service was GREAT (and made our meal --- we were given complimentary drinks as well!) and the food was pretty good, the ambiance was awful. If they remodeled and gave the staff nicer attire, it would go a long way.
We ate at Preston's twice the week we were at the Loews Hotel. We sat on the back patio. The ambience was great. Enjoyed the ocean breeze. My husband enjoyed both of his fish dishes and I enjoyed my salads. The wait staff was very attentive to us as well. I highly recommend Preston's for a great meal with a loved one.
Good food but bad service. Also a little on the expensive side, even for Miami since not suppose to be trendy restaurant
My in-laws from Minnesota had a great time! We walked down to the beach after our meal.
Wanted reservations on open table for 9:00 but the options were 9:30 and on when we arrived at Prestons there were only 1-2 other tables. Lobster mac was disappointing however I enjoyed the risotto.
The food & cocktails were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the service was poor. The waiter did not know the menus, didn't ask us for refills or try to sell us on anything. I couldn't even tell you his name. Too bad because the food and ambiance was great. I'll give them the benefit of doubt and chalk it up to a lousy waiter and try again :)
First course good. Second course very weak. Once the waiter realised that we were not enjoying it, he more or less abandoned us. He just left our uneaten meals on the table. They were still there a long time after we had paid the bill. Staff seemed a bit demoralized. Shame, we love the Loews, have stayed there many times, just revisiting for a meal for good-time memories with the kids. Please don't publish, just pass to management. Too much over-cooked pasta, rubbish pizzas. If you're going to do Italian, get a pizzaiolo. Not sure what too advise otherwise. We'll be back, especially for breakfasts, but can't rely on memories forever.
