Presidio Social Club
Too much noise!! A small amount of ceiling sound treatment would lower the level to reasonable levels
A favorite restaurant and it lived up to it's excellent reputation again.
Salad had way too much vinegar, almost inedible. Ahi poke didn’t have enough seasoning.
Meatloaf with carrots and mashed potatoes and pork chop with squash were main dishes. Pork chop was lean, large, thick , flavorful , moist, prepared medium rare as requested.
Pork chop was Slightly salty, squash dry and boring.
Meatloaf was wonderful.
Appetizer was a mushroom truffle dish with toasted bread. Excellent taste.
The outside patio, covered and with heaters, is great. Turning off the heaters while people are still eating and talking, not so much.
This seems to be a new trend that is happening in restaurants nowadays. If you should be receiving change back, the waiter just keeps it. I find that quite rude. It was .53, but it is the principle of the thing. It is my change and not yours. Who said that you could keep it?! I just made an adjustment on the tip. So it was his loss.
Perfect place for my birthday, notwithstanding that it wasn’t a milestone year. It felt like a special occasion but didn’t break the bank. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. N txt, I’m going back soon
The food here is good but the service wasn't the best. We spent most of the night being ignored. We were also seated on the patio under a tent. Even though there were heaters going it was still very cold. We had reservations so it was disappointing to be seated in such an uncomfortable spot.
Please do something about the screaming babies
Great food, service, ambience.
Oh boy - what a disaster! Arrived right at 5 pm and got "dumped" into the back room after having requested a space in main dining room on Open Table weeks ahead. Six of us in total. 2 out of 6 drink orders were incorrect. 4 out of 5 hot entrees came cold - and 1 came at the very end of the meal - (that one was comped as admitted screw up). The one waitress was trying to serve multiple tables and be a sommelier. She just was asked to do too much and the kitchen did not perform AT ALL. We saw the manager walk out, frustrated - threw the menus down and just left. Something bad is going on there.
This was our go-to place in SF and never again!
Good, Creative food in a unique cool setting
Presidio Social Club offers a solid, dependable, menu of classics that are consistently prepared well (if you liked the meatloaf and mashed potatoes when you visited two years ago, you'll like it again, if you go tomorrow). I enjoy eating adventures, but sometimes you just want to go somewhere where you know exactly what your going to get, and that it will hit the spot. Presidio Social is for those occasions.
Terrible parking as it is located in the Presidio Park. Waited to be greeted, service was a bit slow, could feel the staff didn't want to be there. Felt like they have been there for 20 years and can't wait to do something else. From another era.....
Our soups came without bread. We asked for bread, it never arrived.
Our waiter got the main course order wrong. I had to go find another waiter (he had vanished) and request the correction. Our waiter only came around to apologize once the correct order had finally arrived. We were charged for everything, nothing adjusted for the screwups.
It's quite expensive given the entree didn't include any sides, but that can be typical in SF. You could easily add a few small potatoes very cheaply and it would seem like greater value to the customer. It's a good place for a business lunch if your highest priority is a good atmosphere and good enough food.
I can’t help that I’m always smiling when I eat here be it for bunch or dinner. My friend had never been there before and she fell in love with it too. Their menu makes my tummy happy. Period.
The service was indifferent; sever didn’t engage or suggest
Lovely setting, delicious food and cocktails with excellent service.
Service and food was very good!
The entire experience was nice. You can always count on good food, good drinks and a nice atmosphere.
Food was truly delicious! Started with truffle fries and beignets for the table. Pork belly side amazing. Halibut for dinner. Chilaquiles in the morning. Our family ate here at night then had to go back in the morning with our friends.
So perfect for New years Eve! Festive but not noisy, specials but not overpriced, great service, really skilled cooking, delicious!
Such a nice change of pace to have a great restaurant without too much noise. Great for folks with anxiety and those who can’t handle loud, chaotic spaces. We will be back!
I thought the good was very good. I had the chop of the week which was cooked perfectly served tomahawk style. The deviled eggs & eggplant appetizers were tasty. Apple fritter desert was a recommendation by our server. Glad I listened. The service stood out for me. Courtney took care of my table. She was attentive and courteous. I would go back for dinner again or try lunch next time.
Great location, ambiance, service and food. We will be back!
Our waiter was a little frazzled. Nice guy but ended up sending over another waiter to help us. He was so befuddled by a family of 5 at the table next to us, who came in after us and had their food and drinks LONG before us. He seemed overly attentive to them, perhaps he knew them? Anyway, didn't set too well with us but given the holiday season, it was easy to overlook and I don't believe the person treating us to dinner made him suffer financially in any way. Just a head's up; keep an eye on ALL of your guests!
When I made a reservation and requested a window seat! Was waiting and ready for us. That to me gives it 5 stars for customer service. The person who brought us to our table and greeted us when we arrived was wonderful and welcoming and stated that our window table was ready; no waiting what so ever. I do suggest one make reservations if possible.
Our second time there. As before, everything was grand!
Had lunch with a friend here recently. Great service. The server paid attention to our rhythm. Didn't hover, but obviously kept an eye on us because she came to our table as we were ready to move from one course to another, wanted another glass of wine. Made good suggestions. The food was good. We hadn't met for a while, so had lots of catching up to do and the restaurant gave us room to take our time. Enjoy the experience together. The atmosphere in the restaurant and in the Presidio overall is an island of peaceful greenery in the midst of the city. Good experience all around.
None of us were impressed by food or service. Very noisy.
Great atmosphere. Good and cocktails are amazing and the staff is super friendly.
It was a very enjoyable experience!
Very unimpressive- love the space and history but food was so meh. Will not return.
The Presidio Social club was friendly and welcoming, the food of good quality. However the noise level was much too high and tended to spoil the evening
Our server was a delight! The ambiance was lovely, great table! The food was pretty good, Desert was wonderful! We’ll be back!!
Although we had great food and drinks, the entire experience was ruined at the end of the meal when our server brought the bill, rang up charges on the credit card that were incorrect and then yelled at us when we asked him to check the billing. He was so belligerent it was shocking! It took over 20 minutes to work out the errors, and the manager who finally intervened did not express any regrets over the way our dining experience ended. Sadly, this final part of our dinner left a bad taste in my mouth. In this case, my last impression of the Presidio Social Club makes me reluctant to return. The waitstaff should never abuse the customer (and in this case, we were in the right!).
Great dinner, excellent service!
