Presidio Social Club
What Insiders Are Saying
With both food from the 50s and kale, in a pseudo country club environment. Presidio Social Club works out better than we'd have expected.
Both service and food were great. The wait staff handled several requests from my party to make adjustments & substitutions to our orders to meet dietary needs.
Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the desserts were a lovely finish to our meal.
Food and drinks were excellent as usual. Only issue was we had a 9:00 reservation on a Saturday night, and at around 9:30 the staff started clearing tables and putting up chairs on tables. Made us feel very rushed to finish our meal.
Always good, food and service awesome!!!
That's why wifey and I love it. What a great space as well. Makes me feel as if I'm SF for sure❤️
Lovely. A little too noisy for me inside but outside was great.
Great food selection. Outdoor seating available.
Really cool spot full of history. Food is good, not great and service was a little slow but pleasant.
Consistently a very good experience and I plan to return (likely frequently).
I like Presidio Social Club for the food, always very good if not “cutting edge”. The noise level is higher than I enjoy, however.
We also felt that the service was almost too fast. It seemed like our drinks had only just arrived when our dinners showed up! Maybe because we didn’t order starters the kitchen just pushed out our orders very quickly. We would have enjoyed a slightly more relaxed pace.
Sat outside for the first time. It was great because the noise level was subdued while inside they were really really boisterous. I like the place and go there frequently but the noise inside can be so loud that you cannot enjoy being with friends
Excellent service from the young lady who sat us to the waitress.
Amazing all around experience!
We ate outside on the patio. It was pleasant and quiet. The menu was limited but the food was very good. Our server forgot to bring us more water at first so we reminded her. I would go back.
The Presidio Social Club is one of my favorite places to dine in SF! Prices are great, food is reliably tasty, cocktails are creative and delicious and the pour is generous. Parking is easy and the ambiance is lovely. I entertain family, friends and clients there regularly and often my husband and I drop in for a nice dinner. The back room can get a bit noisy when full, but typically it’s a place where you can have a conversation without yelling! Highly recommended!
The dining experience exceeded our expectations and was a perfect place to bring an out of town friend for lunch.
Fist our waiter forgot to put in one of the drink orders. Had to be reminded twice. Then forgot to put in one of the lunch orders. App plates never cleared. Then didn’t put coffee order in. Then wrongly charged extra for dessert. No service recovery ever made. Not the great celebration we had planned for.
My fish was fresh and nicely presented. Ambiance wise, I seem to have remembered the officers club to be a little bit more upscale. Oh well, it’s a bit out of our comfort zone when it comes to location and possibly not worth the transportation effort.
Great table by a window, knowledgeable wait person, yummy food and drinks.
A little pricy for a casual lunch. Food was good. Service was good for a very busy lunchtime. The place is loud... a lot of ambient noise with the large crowd.
I always love the Presidio Social Club. Food is good, parking is easy.
We arrived at designated time but had to wait for a table to be prepared..15+ mins. Lots of graduation parties and waited an hour for food to arrive and one dish was forgotten.
Love the restaurant, but they just can’t cook a burger to order! Medium rare always over cooked
Sat us in back room with chair over a cold air vent that really was a bit much. Slow on drink orders. Had to wait quite a bit.
5 of us - visitors from Spain and Britain, food was delicious and our waitperson very good
Great food and atmosphere but back room very noisy!
Great food and atmosphere. Only complaint is that hostess was a little rude when we came in with a stroller. Even though we put it in our reservation notes, she told us we need to put our party as 3 instead of 2. If this was standard practice it would be one thing, but we can’t be following different rules for different restaurants. So we found that to be off putting for a so called family friendly restaurant. Other than that food was good and our server was great.
The food is really good and the drinks are great. Unfortunately, after waiting for 40 minutes or so for our entrees we figured out that the server never put our orders in. She was very apologetic and it was an honest mistake but it should have been noticied much earlier if anyone had come to check on us in that time. Hopefully it was a fluke but certainly disappointing.
The cocktails and pea soup arrived promptly but after waiting 45 minutes for the rest of our dinner we unfortunately had to pay our check and leave.
The kitchen appeared to be the problem despite efforts of our waitress and doubt that we will be back.
We were there midday and ordered from the bar menu - ahi tuna and chicken soup. Of the three visits to the restaurant, it was the best experience so far. The restaurant can be noisy when full, and for us midday was perfect as we could carry on a conversation.
My wife had a cocktail; I had an IPA draft. My wife had the liver pate and I had the ahi poke. Drinks were good, food was very good. Prices were a bit high, but . . . that's what you get in SF.
Good meal and quality food. Nice place for lunch with friends.
If there is a way to de-crease the noise level you would make a lot of people happy! 😊 When you have a full house, which is often, it's impossible to have a decent conversation. The noise doesn't stop me from dining with you - but it would sure be a lot comfortable and inviting.
This restaurant is in a beautiful old building with lots of charm and character. Parking is easy which is unusual in San Francisco. They were able to accommodate my food restrictions which was much appreciated. The biggest drawback was the noise level - it was difficult to have conversation with everyone at the table because people couldn't hear.
We arrived early for our reservation and we were one short in our party, the lovely hostesses seated us all the same even though it was busy! Our waiter had great patience with us as our friend ran a little extra late, our service was fantastic, food excellent, they even accommodated some changes to our order that weren’t on the menu, couldn’t recommend this place enough! Always a pleasant experience when I come here and both of my dining buddies were first timers and loved it....
This is a great place to go with a group. The food isn't a big 'wow', but was cooked well, and came out as expected.
We love the presidio social club! But service can be slow and it is on the noisier side. Definitely get the beignets for dessert!
My favorite place to have a business lunch. As a Presidio business owner it makes me proud to take clients to such a special spot. Amazing crab Louie, btw.
Great place for drinks and apps. The service was quite slow, even when we were turning around looking for our waiter. There were only two tables open in our zone, and the restaurant was clearing out... so didn’t seem to be a customer volume issue.
The deviled eggs, ahi tuna app, broccolini, East/West chicken noodle soup were highlights!! Our cocktails were great!
The butter lettuce salad didn’t have any flavor (really - zero), but was pretty on appearance. The asparagus was fine (get the broccoli instead, most definitely).
Overall, it’s a cool place to go in the Presidio. The hostess was nice. I’d probably sit at the bar and order apps/sides in lieu of getting a table in the future.
