Our waiter was horrible. He was bothered to take our drink order and we had to ask twice for the drinks and ask about our food. He got the drinks wrong and then the small glass of red wine was sent back because of weird sentiment in it. Food was just fair. We had told them it was a special birthday celebration but was never even mentioned! Dont got plenty of other places that are better
Honestly, even at 5 pm it's too loud in the restaurant to have an enjoyable conversation with friends while you eat. I don't think I would reserve space for us there again . . . at least if I know I want to talk to someone else at the table.
The restaurant is cozy and inviting. We went for a Sunday brunch. The menu choices for brunch were not particularly diverse. But the food was still excellent. Service was spotty and not very attentive. The restaurant is very busy for Sunday brunches and there did not seem to be quite enough staff.
Food always solid.
We sat at a beautiful table outside but both dishes my wife and I ordered were really quite poor. The setting is very nice, the food needs significant improvement.
Went there for lunch thud time, the menu was not too exciting or creative. My husband had the brisket sandwich, he said it was very good. I had a foie gras pate, it was mediocre, way salty, couldn't taste much of anything else.
Good drinks at the bar and they had a round table for 8 as requested. Food and waitress were great.
Big issue was noise- way too loud so difficult to talk to even guys across the table.
We had a long and relaxing lunch with terrific food and very friendly service. No
Pressure to rush out.
Great restaurant, came on a Sunday at 5:00. Nice and quiet, good service and GREAT burger!
Way too noisy. We were in the smaller room with a large party. They were not particularly loud, it's just that the acoustics were awful. If we went again we would sit on the patio.
Great place to take visiting parents for an upscale (yet reasonably priced) brunch. If it's a beautiful day, plan for extra time to walk around the Presidio before or after you eat.
Cozy atmosphere. Our food was delicious from the salad to the dessert. Service was friendly and prompt. The place has a nice community vibe, and parking!
An outstanding dinner in a unique setting. The service was also very professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.
After a slow start when our waiter didn’t know he was assigned to our table things got better. The oysters were crisp and fresh and all of our guests enjoyed their entrees and beverages. Ambience in the Presidio Social Club is very nice. Overall, a very pleasant place for a mid-week meal.
I googled best places for Easter dinner in San Francisco. We didn’t know this restaurant was here. The menu had items my husband liked and fit my current diet restrictions.
We made reservations and was early. Both of us were very pleased with our selections. The waiter was aloof but good.. just not warm and fuzzy. But it was very busy and he was efficient. The desserts are out of this world snd the best part. The presentation was amazing. The only downfall was the noisy table next to us with 4 women and one woman did not stop talking loudly and cackling throughout the whole dinner.. she disturbed all the other tables around her. Not the restaurants fault but tables are close. If you are dinning at a nice spot be aware diners to keep your voice to a Lower level so everyone can have a favorable dining night experience.. especially at this hidden gem! We will be back
Easter brunch - awesome bloody Mary’s and the baked eggs and smoked salmon on toast were AWESOME!
Some of the food was good but those of us who ordered the crab salad needed a microscope to find the crab. The server was nice enough to go back to the kitchen to get us a small cup of crab for 3 salads. Def not worth the $24.
Easter Brunch was delicious (Baked Eggs, Eggs Benedict & huevos rotos!). Cocktails were very good (Bloody Mary, Aperol Spritz and Rose Sangria). Service was great and attentive. We made our reservations online and were seated upon arrival. Ambience was jovial. Original dinnerware used (not sure if dated from 1903). Always pleased to dine in the Presidio. So much History in the City's backyard. This is a hidden gem! We will be back!
Great experience .great setting
Parents in town
To be totally honest, our waitress made our experience lack-luster. She had a super bad attitude, didn't know the menu, couldn't describe the specials (fine that happens) but her whole attitude, lack of customer service (slamming plates on the table, not checking on us, simply not accommodating - hello that's her job!) made us all not want to come back. I highly recommend investing in happier employees that actually want to work and earn their 20% tip!
Excellent roast chicken, meat loaf, liver and onions. Sides of Brussel sprouts my favorite, as are the smashed peas. Comfort food all the way.
The food is always tasty and the menu is inviting and interesting.
Came as a couple for Sunday brunch, by 11:30 am they were already out of one of their signature brunch dishes. Our server disappeared for long stretches of time and we ended up being waited on by two additional servers instead after long periods of waiting and wondering what was happening. A manager stood by knowing that the server was gone and did nothing to stay on top of the situation. Overall experience would have been nice otherwise, but nothing special besides a good location.
We arrived early but our table was already prepared. We decided to wait at the bar for the last member of our party and ordered a round. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Food was good and fresh if a little overpriced--what else can you expect on the Marina side of the city?
PSC is my go-to for a casual but special occasion, especially if the bill is going to be divided. Not all of my friends have the same income, so having. A range of price points is a must. The wine selection and cocktails are safe - but that’s great when there’s a range of tastes! This visit was the first time for my two friends. Both were extremely happy with their roast chicken and the PSC atmosphere. They’re happy, I’m happy. Service was friendly and professional. The strawberry coconut cake was a hit for me. Thank you!
The Presidio Social Club does everything pretty well. Our service has always been good-helpful and attentive. The food has never disappointed. At this luncheon sitting, both my guest and I had beef liver and onions. It was sensational, melt in your mouth tender and delicious. (I know many of you will not be convinced to order it, but we loved it.) We both had wine by the glass and were pleased with our selections.
Parking is a problem here. There is often no parking available and, if it is, the city makes sure that nothing is free. We each paid $3.80 to park for an hour-cheap by downtown standards but an annoyance in the presidio.
The food was delicious. The service was great. The cocktails were lovely. Would go again!
Great location setting.. only problem was it was very cold outside and inside...
food was good... although my scrambled eggs with tortilla chips was a soggy mess.. but
my friends Baked egg dish looked great!
I finally got to eat here...twice in one weekend! The service is top notch - casual but friendly and on it and they really accommodated all our little needs (and as a party of 10 we had a few) including getting us out of there in under an hour. Courtney our server, and our host were superb. The atmosphere is unique being off to the side of the presidio, and it is cozy, clean, and does feel kind of like your own club. The food overall was excellent - I preferred my dishes the next night when I had the spaghetti with butternut squash, pork belly (crispy!) and a farm egg. Delish. My date had the halibut special, which was cooked perfectly. The special app was a carrot soup that was also delicious - vegan, using coconut milk which I had not had before. And ginger of course. Highly recommend the Gunpowder cocktail, and they were generous with wine tasting before serving a pour. Dessert was tasty butterscotch pudding. So, I would recommend that you get the specials if they have them! I would go there every week if I lived closer....
The atmosphere of this place (old military barracks in the Presidio) is very fun and unique. We came for brunch- I didn't think the food was particularly special but everything was good and some of the items like grilled cheese with tomato soup fondue were fun ideas. Seems like would be a fun place to come for evening cocktails.
This is my second time here. The food is good but not amazing and it is very noisy. I like the look of the place and the location is wonderful. I think they could be so much more with a bit more zing to the food and possibly some acoustics to tone down the din so that it's not so hard to hear your friends.
Always good....great neighborhood spot!.....Enjoy some of the 'comfort food' offerings and great cocktails
Took about twenty minutes to get us a table, despite the reservation
Great food and service.
As always good food good experiences
The chicken and arugula salad was the most enjoyable dish I've had at PSC. I asked for the elimination of the candied pecans and the baby arugula was outstandingly fresh, brisk, bitter and moderately dressed. Every bite of the merinque cake was enjoyable sweetness.
Out with friends to celebrate a couple of birthdays! We were seated at a very nice table and had no wait. The server took drink orders. It seemed that the server was not really having a good day. He was not terribly friendly and part of our food order never showed up or a second drink one of our party ordered! The server was not very apologetic. The coffee was awful! Not sure if we will go back.
The hot chocolate was barely warm, the French toast very dry. The food was nothing special and every dish seemed to come with a dip of some sort. Very banal.
