As always good food good experiences
The chicken and arugula salad was the most enjoyable dish I've had at PSC. I asked for the elimination of the candied pecans and the baby arugula was outstandingly fresh, brisk, bitter and moderately dressed. Every bite of the merinque cake was enjoyable sweetness.
Out with friends to celebrate a couple of birthdays! We were seated at a very nice table and had no wait. The server took drink orders. It seemed that the server was not really having a good day. He was not terribly friendly and part of our food order never showed up or a second drink one of our party ordered! The server was not very apologetic. The coffee was awful! Not sure if we will go back.
The hot chocolate was barely warm, the French toast very dry. The food was nothing special and every dish seemed to come with a dip of some sort. Very banal.
Great central location for people meeting for lunch who live in the North Bay and the South Bay. Meat Loaf entre was excellent.
Some of the blandest food I've ever had and the waiter was hanging out near the bar area chatting with a couple of other waiters and not attentive at all
The food was yummy, drinks delicious (Painkillers), and great service.
Absolutely delicious, everything we ordered was phenomenal and we ate every single bite. From the appetizers (squash dip) to the entrees (bacon chicken, pork shoulder and egg spaghetti) to the dessert (special: roasted banana cheesecake with hazelnut crust and caramel) to the wine and service, everything was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back.
Starting with the location it is located in a 100 year old former US Army building on the historic and beautiful Presidio. The restaurant has a modern yet classic architecture that honors the history of the building and location with an updated feel.
The menu is diverse and offers a fun variety of foods and tastes. We did a little tour of the menu which included the Deviled Eggs, Mac & Cheese, Oysters, Truffle Fries and finally the Tomahawk Ribeye for two. All were meticulously prepared and exceeded our expectations.
The staff was friendly and attentive all while managing a large party on a Saturday night!
We will be back.
First time here - with a group of 5 for brunch. Smooth as silk.
The food is all fresh (no preservatives) which is great as one in our party is allergic to nitrates. He was happy that first, they knew what nitrates was and second he could have nitrate-free bacon on his burger. We also found out that before the Social Club opens, the staff has a meeting to review the reservations on food allergies. Definitely will go there again though it tends to be a bit noisy.
Food is always new, interesting and delicious.
Wait staff attentive yet not hanging out by table. Relaxed, casual, and easy paced.
The food, as usual, was very good. Been going to this restaurant for a few years, and the service still needs improvement. 99.9% of the servers who had waited on my table seemed to lacked "customer service" and had poor attitudes. Not sure if the waiters don't care, or if it's just the "norm" for that restaurant. Would not hesitate to tip more if the server was more customer oriented.
This location has historical significance. There is some parking available. The food is good and it a reliable choice for dinner. The Presidio is a fascinating location. We always enjoy dinner The Social Club.
The staff could not have been more friendly, service was exceptional, the GM was top notch and the food was delicious. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. I would return there in a heartbeat.
Break our vegetarianism every time for the SPECTACULAR meatloaf. Couldn’t be better if it were filet mingon!
We went to the Presidio Social Club for some dinner prior to an event at the Palace of Fine Arts. The place was busy but not overly crowded and no real wait for tables. The service was incredibly slow in all aspects and took over an hour from sitting down to get our main meal. We were very disappointed with the level of service. The waiter also was soft spoken and it was hard to hear him in the noisy atmosphere. The food was good but didn't make up for the slow service.
Service was lacking, especially due to price point. Food was good.
I would not go back to this restaurant. Took about an hour to get our food which was a burger, chicken soup, and smoked salmon on toast. When we asked to speak to the manager that tables around us who sat down much later received their food before us and that our waiter told us our food is out shortly but didn’t come out until 30 mins later, she said it was the chefs fault and that they are probably backed up. The managers customer service was terrible. Not apologetic or how can I make the situation better.
We had a very disappointing brunch at PSC. The service was absolutely terrible, and the food was disappointing. Multiple items of our orders (side of toast, coffees) never made it to our table even after asking our waiter to check on them. Of the dishes that did make it to the table, none were very good. For such a great space in the Presidio, the meal was a major disappointment. Such a bummer!
I've been here many times and while the food was as good as ever, the service on my last visit was appallingly slow and inattentive. We had to wait twenty minutes for our waiter to so much as ask if we'd like a drink, we had to go to the bar to request a condiment for our meal since no one checked in on us after the food was dropped, and once the waiter brought the dessert menu we sat for thirty minutes without any follow up. The manager and waiter were visible and the latter frequently passed and ignored our table. None of the runners or bussers were particularly helpful either (ignoring 'excuse mes' after dropping dishes). After waiting so long to order dessert, we were tired and gave up on the idea of something sweet and a nightcap and went to the front to request our bill - the waiter having ignored multiple signals. Our waiter dropped it with no apologies and the manager and hostess were pretty blasé as well. The food was very good and all of us live nearby, but we certainly won't be rushing back - nothing about our interactions with the staff felt positive or as though they cared in any way that we return either.
Everything was very good. Ordered the butternut squash appetizer. It was like fondue. Gruyere cheese toast. Ahi tuna Poke. Save room for the chocolate bourbon pecan pie!
I love meeting friends here! It's always friendly, great food, easy to talk because it's not too loud & good people watching. Even though it's in the midst of a bustling area, it feels away from the crowd. I'll go back!
Love the cheddar bacon biscuit, however 1 biscuit for $6 is not good value, especially when the biscuit arrives at room temperature, too cold for the maple butter to melt. The latte also arrives at room temperature. Please serve these items "piping hot". Everything else is delicious and the service and accessibility is great. A favorite spot!
Food was good, not spectacular by SF standards. Prices quite high. Wine list had mostly highly priced wines. Our server was good but may have had too many tables to attend to ours very much. Very busy on a Tuesday night. Nice old building with a good "feeling" to it.
Has been a consistent and enjoyable experience every time I have been there and the staff are very accommodating, good experience, good food.
Server was delightful. Food was good as it always is.
Great food, great service and easy parking. Plus, its in the Presidio so you get a bit of history as well.
It was a lovely day and we were able to sit on the back deck. We had the pasta with lamb ragu, very tasty! Other good choices on the menu.
We had a lovely lunch. Quality and freshness of food was very good. Terrific service.
Make a reservation. It becomes crowded for lunch.
Our lunch included meat loaf plate, steak salad, and hamburgers. Everyone loved their meal.
The steak salad was delicious served with root vegetables, steak slices and topped with bean sprouts. It was delicious. The regular meat loaf meal was also very good and of course, so were the hamburgers served with ample frites.
Our server was accommodating, knew the specials and came to ask if everything was according to what we expected. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the meal very much. It was a bit cold in the room and the noise level grew as people filled the club.
Server was very inexperienced
Fun little spot, good casual food and drinks. Service was a little off though.
This restaurant has a nice neighborhood feel. Great salads and enough other choices to keep the carnivores happy.
In the past I’ve had wonderful experiences at Presidio Social Club, both for dining and just for drinks at the bar. Unfortunately this time the service was relatively poor. Our waiter forgot to take an order, kids’ meals were the last to arrive ( after we waited at least 10-15 minutes, then had to ask for them to be brought to the table) while the rest of ours sat and got cold, no apologies given for the late food, and he never checked in with us during the meal to see if we needed more drinks, refill our coffee, etc.
We were celebrating three birthdays, so it would have been nice to have a smile or other simple pleasantries. It was quite frustrating and left a sour note for us.
Average food, poor service.
Good food. Quick service. Pleasant experience but space is tight and hard to maneuver in and out of tables.
My first impression was good. The place is nice and bright and the building is very interesting.
Was not that impressed by the brunch menu. The beneigts were just glorified donut sticks and the chicken soup was fairly bland.
I took a star off because they did not offer any kind of almond or soy milk so I couldn't have coffee unless I wanted it black.
Come on! It's SF and you don't have a non dairy milk option?!
I took off the other star because our waitress failed to tell us about any specials and I just happened to over hear the specials from the next table while we were eating our meal.
So over all wouldn't recommend this place.
I have always loved eating at Presidio Social Club but on my last visit I found the food dull and overpriced. The hamburger was small and not special. Though the menu seems the same it felt kind of limited this time. Service is always good.
