Great atmosphere and service. Food is good, but menu is still limited.
I am so glad I listened to my brother’s suggestion that we should celebrate this Father’s Day at the Presidio Social Club. This is the 2nd time we have celebrated Father’s Day here and though the staff on our first visit was nice, the staff this time around was awesome! It started with the hostess being so understanding when I called to let her know we were running late for our reservation due to us not being used to post-pandemic traffic. And we lucked out when we were seated in Jess R’s section in their expanded patio. Jess was so friendly, engaging, funny, informative and attentive! Knowing that my brother and sister wanted the Prime Rib sandwich, which was sold out when we placed our order, she came back to let us know that it was still available! She really made this special day even more special. And our Dad REALLY liked everything we ordered. So that was a huge win! We are looking forward to heading back very soon!
Spectacular service and drinks, terrible overpriced food.
Father’s Day brunch ...was so excited to be back at PSC only to be surprised the menu was COMPLETELY different and , to my taste, not that good especially since prices went up too.
Having expected standards for brunch as options (like, I mean, eggs Benedict ?!) is now considered too pedestrian ?
Really disappointed and may need to rethink them as our “go to”
It was a beautiful day and we were warmly welcomed. Everyone was busy and so there were some delays with getting our first course and getting the check. But overall, everything was great. We were a bit disappointed at the limited menu. I must have looked at the wrong menu online. Be sure to check out the brunch menu on Saturday at lunchtime. I may have chosen a different restaurant if I had realized. My husband and son thought it was fine but there wasn’t much that was interesting to them. Of course, that is our fault, not the restaurant’s.
Everything was 5 stars. The only complaint is the hostess that seated us—she did not seem inviting or friendly. It appeared we annoyed her when asked if we could be seated closer to the interior patio—there were plenty of options. She did not give off a pleasant impression.
The ambiance on the deck was very nice. Sunny, even though there was fog at the GGB.
The food was just ok. We were hoping for better offerings from the menu. The physical plant was well kept and orderly, staff friendly and attentive.
they need to up their culinary game to be a player, especially in the Marina/Presidio.
Service was quite slow. It took 45m to give our orders. Too busy,? Not enough staff??
We were a party of 10 and had booked two tables outside, requesting two adjacent or one large table. Outside table management was slow and despite apparent availability we were not even given adjacent tables. Very disappointing.
Lovely place — would prefer that they have umbrellas to cover all tables. My guest and I baked and roasted in the direct sunlight. Bit of a bummer.
The food was good. Particularly good was the pork belly. The drinks were weak, not even legitimate pours IMHO, and I'm a retired bartender! The staff was overwhelmed and had trouble keeping up with the ever-changing Covid rules. They were short-handed. It was obvious everyone was short-changed for service. I'll go back, but not expecting the high level presentation I had in the past. At least they're still in business!
Great atmosphere and service. Friendly and helpful hostess and lovely wait staff, professional bus staff as well. Lively fun atmosphere with plenty of umbrellas for out door seating.
One important suggestion- the menu definitely needs more vegetarian and vegan options (especially this day in age). Smallish portions (was still a bit hungry after lunch). Will want to come back when menu is more veg-friendly.
Please purchase more sun umbrellas. If all seating is outside you shouldn't have to choose whether or not to burn your face (or not eat lunch) during lunch because your table isn't under an umbrella...
Food needs more flavor. The pasta dishes we had at our table were just OK.
Patio is lovely. Drinks were lovely and so was staff. Thank you for being open again.
Great service but were not very impressed with the food. We had the mushroom quiche and croque madame. The quiche had very little mushroom flavor, didn't seem to have any cheese and came with a salad that had about a quarter teaspoon of dressing. The croque madame bread looked/tasted like it came from a Wonder Bread package and the ham from Oscar Meyer. The truffle fries were excellent, however, and if I had to come back I'd stick to those and the cocktail I had (Third Times a Charm) which was also very good. Waitress was terrific although my husband had to practically beg for a refill on coffee.
They were so slow to take our order and bring out the food but they were in a huge rush to get us out of there. I think they kicked us out kind of rudely after 30 mins of our food arriving.
Terrible experience, food is not good, bad service, so expensive.
Quiche not ready for a 10:30 reservation and only one other egg choice. No waffles or French toast. Cappuccino machine was broken. Meal was good, server just ok.
I have eaten brunch many times before the pandemic and this time the portions seemed small and the quality of food was just not what it use to be. The staff were soooo friendly so hopefully the food improves to what it use to be!
Dry, gray tuna on what looked and tasted like shredded canned green beans.
Fine waitstaff but poor managerial staff.
Great service. Although we had to wait a bit for our food.
Perfect brunch, a cut above the standard!
Service and ambiance were excellent, menu seemed very limited for a brunch, hardly any breakfast, brunch items. No omelette on the menu, there was a “special” fried egg on white toast with a slice of gryere cheese and ham. I was underwhelmed. But side of spicy potatoes was very tasty and the dessert binnette was light and fluffy. The experience was more than made up by a lovely and friendly waitress,
We were seated outdoors with a heater right over our table mounted on the restaurant. So it was cool but not bad. I had the Endive Salad and I almost licked the plate. We split the pasta with corn entre and it was superb. For dessert we ordered the cheesecake and my companion liked it but I did not. It might have had gelatin in the cake part, so the consistency was not ideal and it was not sweet enough for my taste. Had the rest of the meal not been perfect, I would have sent it back. But again my companion liked it. Would definitely recommend and I will go back. Seated where we saw the Parrots of Telegraph Hill and other birds flying by was a plus.
We waited 45 minutes to be seated. We had a reservations for 2:15 we were finally seated at 3:00 and then rushed out because they were closing.
Brunch is sub-par and over priced.
Service was fast and the food was delicious. The ambience was great as well.
Weekend brunch. Outdoors with heaters. Very comfortable and nice menu selections. Quiche was ok. Spice fried potatoes sounded good but texture was way more off. Truffle French fries were perfect. Chicken salad good but ordinary. Go here for a nice outdoor setting, decent food, good service.
It was lovely to be back dining at a restaurant, and the Presidio Social Club did not disappoint with its patio dining. Despite a windy, chilly day, the heat lamps and excellent food and service made this a memorable experience.
Great as always. Delicious food and friendly service. New deck is comfortable and inviting. So glad they are back!
Our favorite brunch spot, now with a huge outdoor dining patio.
Lovely brunch experience. The new patio is beautiful.
Menu description did not fit the actual entrees we were served. For example an antipasto dish that was written to be served with burrata was missing the burrata. Scrambled eggs written to have asparagus, goat cheese and herbs were served scrambled with corn. I would say it was misleading and mediocre.
A mixed bag. There is a nice ambiance on the patio with lots of trees in the distance. Our server was very friendly. Some of the food was very good (a rigatoni and cheese and the deviled eggs that weren't really deviled but were very good, also a meatball appetizer). Most of the food was good enough (a couple of salads, the trout, a French dip) but there we a few clear misses. The beef stew looked beautiful with bright pearl onions, carrots, peas and scallions, but it was more of a soup with a clear broth than a rich stew. The beef in a stew should be fork tender, melt in your mouth. This was not. Having to cut the beef in a "stew" with a knife was just bizarre. It was also fatty. Fat also appeared in a couple bite sized chunks in my daughter's pasta with beef ragu. I've never seen that before and it was gross -- just carelessness in the kitchen. Finally, the desserts were disappointing. The beignets themselves were quite good but the dipping sauce was really not a sauce -- more like flavored milk, thin and runny, didn't "stick" to the beignets, really added nothing. The cheesecake was just kind of blah -- reminded me of the Sara Lee we had at home when I was a kid, right down to what might have been frozen strawberries. We had a good time and might go back but not because we were wowed by the food. It was the ambiance, the company and the service that made the evening.
Went here for a birthday and the drinks were watered down, didn’t taste fresh. Food was okay. They got my order wrong. I didn’t say anything. Over priced for what you get. It might be just living in SF for too long that I have unrealistic expectations. :-)
Unfortunately it was windy with a cool breeze. The Cornish game hen was the best I have ever eaten, and even the cool wind could not lessen my enjoyment of that.
They did a nice patio pre fix. Food was high quality.
We had the Sunday dinner set menu and everything was delicious. Plenty of outdoor heaters and seating. A bit pricey, but great for a special occasion.
Most enjoyed the outstanding service provided by Matisse.
$15 irish coffee served in a plain white coffee mug is not special. less so when lipstick still on it...ew!
the restaurant had some serious issues with menu items being available, waitstaff and dishwashing. Its probably all due to covid, however, for these prices, we do expect better food taste and service.
We ordered the brioche beignets, smoked salmon (they were OUT and switched out for trout instead), chicken salad with green goddess dressing, and a special open faced crab salad with mayo on acme bread (which actually turned out to be a soft shell crab with remoulade on brioche toast). for brunch to be $116, they really have to do better.
We sent back the $15 dirty lipstick mugs of irish coffee and got new ones. Beignets were more like cinnamon sugar fried donut holes, not the plump pillows with powdered sugar - these came out first. Next was the trout, which was delicious, however lacking bread and a spread. The chicken salad was lacking crunch (carrot, cucumber, crouton?) with a very soft mouth feel and dry white meat chicken ;( And the crab sandwich, which was the special that day, is really an entire soft shell crab, deep fried on top a thick brioche with remoulade and in no way similar to the shrimp, egg avocado breakfast club.
Dog friendly patio with no canopy, nice heatlamps to keep you toasty. And close to the Letterman Arts Center to walk over and look at the delicious menu for Sessions.
Food tasted alright, however, the portions were small. and
