Presidio Social Club
I dine at the PSC about 3x monthly, sometimes dropping in. Appreciate the menu, the consistency of quality food, the convivial counter/bar. Sometimes at lunch's peak times the staff seems on the edge of being overwhelmed, but as a consumer I feel pretty well taken care of. Wish the PSC all success. It's the kind of place you hope will last.
This is my 3rd visit to Presidio Social Club and have always enjoyed the food and the service. On our last visit we had a group of 6. Everyone was thrilled with their dishes (including desserts). Our server Jess was friendly, attentive and provided great service. We look forward to our next visit.
We have been to the Presidio Social club a few times and unfortunately we have gotten the same waiter everytime. Jules has no personality, very cold, does not engage the guests at all. In the future we will be asking to be seated away from him so as to avoid another unpleasant dining experience.
Came relatively late in pm. Leisurely, comfortable and delicious lunch.
We were pretty disappointed with the food. The appetizers were fine but the chicken was overcooked and the beef was boring. It was also very loud so had a hard time hearing our table of 4 conversation. I had higher expectations for the food especially with the expensive prices.
Love PSC! Wonderful food always, great servers & ambiance!
Food was great but service was not. Service needs much improvement
Consistently good food. Well served by pleasant knowledgeable experienced staff. The good thing about these people is that they help each other out. Stress free.
The ambiance was great, relatively quiet, beautifully appointed room, nice linens. The service was friendly, but erratic -- especially when it came to co-ordinating drinks and food. I did feel we were being rushed to finish our cocktails. The food was then served quickly - too quickly. Nothing worse than having a starter served while still drinking your aperitif. Strangely, the wine glasses were removed when we ordered cocktails. They were not put back until we had already started with the entree. The wine we ordered did not come until we were half finished the main course. I had the London broil, which was a bit dry, as if it had been sitting under lamps for a while before it was served. Overall, the experience was mixed and the value for money not particularly high.
Good Bar, Good Food Good Staff - We always enjoy our meal at PSC
Great place to eat while walking through the Presidio.
My niece and I sat outside yesterday and had a wonderful time— except for the jockeying of umbrellas to keep from being blinded. She had the special halibut and loved it. I had the pasta with lamb ragu which was amazing. Our waiter seemed a bit overworked but the entire experience was great. Live going to PSC.
Went for Thanksgiving, and the restaurant was beautiful. Most likely because it was so busy, our server was gone for long periods of time and the stuffing was super dry, so hopefully they fix that for future years.
I thought the thanksgiving meal was plenty of good homemade food that's is what I wanted. Thank you so much
This was our first dining experience at the Presidio Social Club. We decided to enjoy our Thanksgiving by not cooking at home.
We enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Our reservation was booked well in advance and we had seating on the outdoor heated patio. The Social club had a pris fixe menu for Thanksgiving. We started with the hot crab dip served with melba toast then I had the squash soup. Both were absolutely wonderful. For the entree they provided the option to choose meat. I chose all white meat. With it was mashed potatoes along with a separate gravy boat, stuffing and Brussels sprouts. I did feel disappointed that there were no sweet potatoes but the meal was fabulous. For dessert we had one of each offered, pumpkin pie and the chocolate pecan pie. Both delicious. The pie crust was outstanding. We ordered macaroni and cheese as a side dish. I had leftovers to bring home. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here.
Went for the prod fix thanksgiving dinner. Food was mediocre. Service was lacking - not very friendly and they messed up our orders which is hard to do on a price fixe menu. Overpriced for the amount and quality of the food.
Our first time there!!!!! Beautiful atmosphere and service!! Food was good but not exceptional!!
We thought turkey was a little dry ...but overall was wonderful!!!
We went for Thanksgiving lunch. I understand it may have been a smaller team than usual because of the holiday but the food was not up to the usual Presidio Social club standards. Everything tasted like it was prepared the day before, the vegetables were over cooked and the pie for desert wasn’t warmed up.
We were out on the back patio which was great- under a big plastic marquee! We stuck to soup and salad for our business lunch but the service was discrete and the food just what we wanted!
Easygoing and always an accommodating place. Usually popular and can be busy but worth the wait.
Casual restaurant. Best things: Standards like liver and onions and meat loaf are very good and around around $22. Minuses: some appetizers are below par. Egg plant "Fries" were soggy and under seasoned. Wine list is limited and markups are unusually high. Desserts are OK.
Suggestion: Have meat loaf and a glass of wine or a drink at the bar.
This is a cool story building, with comfortable seating inside. We came for brunch, and were underwhelmed with the brunch selections. There was one eggs Benedict and two scrambled types with chorizo etc. I ordered one of those, and was basically served us to of scrambled eggs, corn chips, cheese, and salsa verde. It wasn't terribly imaginative. However, my spouse had the eggs Benedict, with the bacon substituted for salmon, and it was delicious. Coffee is also good, and service excellence. I only wish they would expand their brunch menu items.
The service and food were a complete let down. The server was probably just new, but didn’t seem empathetic after the fish was sold out and they didn’t realize for 20+ minutes after we ordered. So it was ~50 minutes from order to eat. No manager approach, no offer to make it up. Sorry, I won’t be back.
Delicious food. Friendly, efficient & professional service.
Presidio Social Club always delivers a solid meal. Our party all enjoyed their meals. Butternut squash soup and the fish of the day were superb! Service is very good and the meals were delivered warm.
We always enjoy going to the Presidio Social Club. Food is very good! Service is always friendly. Fun with hubby or with friends.
Great food and mixologists make great cocktails. Tends to be very noisy. Nice outside patio. Ample parking but must purchase ticket for dashboard.
Although this facility is always noisy- one can dine outside on their terrace with heat lamps or fans- whichever is needed- where it is quieter.
A friend & I split a meal & we still paid $50. including the tip- so its a little pricey.
Staff are welcoming & very accommodating. Service very good.
Get the steak for two. Seasoned and cooked to perfection.
We had a wonderful time as we were seated in a quiet room and we could hear each other talk. Food was delicious!
Great place for a relaxed week day lunch with friends.
We Local San Fran folks felt like we were on a vacation at this place .
Food was cold and stake was not that great. Appetizer Was good but I was not satisfied with food.
We met friends for dinner. We had a nice table near the window. The room was busy and a bit noisy because it is an old Army barracks but that also lends it a nostalgic charm. Our servers were all friendly and attentive. Excellent cocktails before dinner and a lovely bottle of Riesling from their wine list with dinner. Three people had the fish special and one had the meatloaf. The food was tasty and beautifully prepared. Everyone enjoyed their dinner very much.
It's our must-do stop when we visit San Francisco from Philly.
Nice ambience and good food.
Just wish it weren't so loud.
Awesome. Everything was wonderful.
This place hits all the right marks on every level except ambience; it's too damn noisy. The cuisine is straightforward and uncomplicated, the portions are good, service is solid, and the prices are reasonable for what you get.
The only thing that puts a damper on a dining experience here is the one thing management really can't control: the deafening level of noise resulting from people screaming at their dining partners. It may be even noisier than Nopa and that's pretty difficult to beat. If you time it right you just might be able to get a reservation just as the dining crowd is beginning to leave and the noise level diminishes.
