Serving up a classic Northern California vibe, attentive hospitality, and a locally sourced, seasonal menu, San Francisco’s iconic Presidio Social Club is open every day for all your social gatherings. Nestled within the beautiful Presidio National Park, PSC is at once an inviting urban oasis and a lively destination fit for an intimate dinner for two or a celebratory venue for large groups. Erected in 1903 as a military barracks, the historical building has been converted into a modern eatery sure to put anyone “at-ease” featuring contemporary twists on San Francisco staples and artfully crafted cocktails.

What Insiders Are Saying

The Infatuation
7.4

With both food from the 50s and kale, in a pseudo country club environment. Presidio Social Club works out better than we'd have expected.

Ratings 7.0-7.5:These are your neighborhood standbys - the places that you’ll happily hit for some pasta or a quick salad, but not a restaurant you are bringing your parents or (god forbid) a date to. The true embodiment of good but not great.

This was the worst experience I have had in the three years of visiting the restaurant. The service and staff were unfriendly. Different from the warm and bubbly staff I have come to know. The food came cold/Luke warm.

I took my parents here for their 40th anniversary a few months back - we loved it. Today really changed my mind. I wanted to go somewhere I wouldn’t feel away from home, on Easter. Not sure I’ll come back.

It was a bit crowded due to Easter Sunday brunch. We sat outside and luckily weather was perfect. Food was good and satisfying but not memorable. Thin pieces of ham on plain English muffin with poached egg and hollandaise were decent, but presentation was bland and unimpressive. Small menu. Venue is picturesque. You have to pay for parking there, even on Easter Sunday.

The servers were great but the time between ordering and being served was excessive. In addition, one member of our party was served an entree that was cold when it arrived at the table and had to request it be replaced resulting in further delay. Add to that being seated against a very cold drafty wall ... The restaurant was not overly busy (multiple empty tables) so it is hard to understand the kitchen delays. Although I may return for brunch where past experiences have been good, I am unlikely to return for dinner.

The best thing about Presidio Social Club was the ambiance and setting. The food was okay. Service was lacking. We won’t be returning.

The food was good, the crowd was energized and they seated us 40 minutes past our reserved time. We barely saw our waitress all night. The woman behind the bar was outstanding... friendly, helpful and great at her job.

The Presidio Social Club, was what we had expected, eclectic, lively and excellent food. Our waiter however did not seem very interested in serving us, he did not smile or make any small talk. Afterwards we supposed that maybe he was having a "bad day" or had something heavy on his mind. His demeanor did not deter from our enjoyment of the meal and the ambiance, however it seemed inconsistent with the vibe of this fun establishment.

Food here is consistently good overall. Nice wine and beer selections, too. Only complaint was the (lack of) vegetable assortment with the fabulous chicken--usually there's a wonderful mix of veggies, like carrots, green beans, cauliflower, etc. This time there were only potatoes and 2 pieces of cauliflower. Still, a great meal....

We went for Sunday brunch. The food is wonderful although the options were very few. There were more drink options than food options. Our waiter was less than good. He never asked us if we wanted coffee or desert and never stopped by to check on us until our plates were cleared by other staff. Then he just left our check without saying a word. I get bad days, but this was just bad. Our food was delivered by other staff and was fresh and hot, so that was the saving grace. Great food and comfortable.

Been several times; always the worst service and the food isn't special or great for the value. This trip was the WORST -- the burger looked like a cheap coffee shop:( Not going back.

If you are on your ‘Jack Jones’ then grab a seat at the counter bar and meet most interesting diners from local, but also far and wide places and enjoy not only the food, but great bar tenders and interesting conversations.
Highly recommended - please enjoy 😊

We arrived at around 5:30 p.m, and the restaurant was quiet with a few people dining. By the time we left at 8:30 p.m. the restaurant was full and had people waiting. The noise level did increase but really did not affect our conversations. Our server Robin was AMAZING. Despite being busy, she was very attentive and took great care of us. She knew the menu, answered our questions and really knew the wine list.

We come here regularly. We recently came with a party of 7 and I requested & got a round table in the small dining room. It is less noisy than the main room. We were all happy with the food. I had the vegetarian option an dycon radish cake, most unusual and interesting. I like that the Presideo Social Club
does the standards, liver and onions, meatloaf, and something completely different.
My only complaint is the rooms are cold, historic buildings are hard to heat.

Being in the City, it's plus is that there is easy parking. Brunch/lunch menu was limited; overall food was okay. Our party had the chicken soup, cheese burger and kale salad which were decent entrees. They serve a very good vanilla creme brûlée cheesecake and warm beignets with chocolate sauce for dessert.

I would very hesitatingly recommend this restaurant. After making reservations online, I needed to ask if dogs are allowed. It took 7 phone calls and voicemails before someone finally returned my call. FYI- they are allowed on the patio. Our party of five was early and I checked to see about being seated early. The hostess was unfriendly, at best, and actually borderline rude when my husband checked in again 20 minutes later. Not a great way to welcome guests.
Our server was much much friendlier. Service was extremely slow. I’d like to say it was because it was a gorgeous day and the restaurant was full when we were seated, but wouldn’t you staff your restaurant accordingly when you see your reservations are full?
Our entrees were good to fair. Unfortunately, after all the good things I’d heard about the restaurant, we were disappointed. From the difficulty actually speaking to someone to the surly hostess to the slow service, we were disappointed that the restaurant did not live up to expectations. With all the other terrific/friendly dining options in SF, we will most likely not return.
