Presidio Cafe - Presidio Golf Course Ratings and Reviews
The wait staff were really frieidly and helpful, which made up for a vary basic menu of comfort food, with uneven quality. The view out to the course will be blocked if there is an event, so call ahead. Table service not available on the terrace, but you can take your food out there on a nice day.
The service was exemplary, with several people helping our table all of whom seemed to be communicating with one another, and all of whom were very polite and watchful. The biggest surprise of all though was the incredibly creamy scrambled eggs. They were divine. Also, we stayed for a long time and talked after our meal and the atmosphere was peaceful and conducive to talking.
Convenient meeting place for Peninsula and Marin County friends to meet in SF. Weekends often have events and one should check first to see if restaurant closes early as it did with us. Servers seemed stressed to get people out for the event and food was particularly bad yesterday. Helpful if Open Table got alerts on these changes when reservations are being made.
Needs a little TLC. The food and service was very good but the ambiance was missing. I'd been to this place a few years ago and it was taken care of. There were dead flowers in the entry and the bathroom. The bathroom door was dirty and the dining room was dated. Looks like it just needs some care, a good manager perhaps. Our server was great and the good better than I expected.
The Sunday brunch menu wasn't appealing so we shared a grilled cheese with bacon, which was fine. We had to keep tracking down our waiter and it wasn't busy when we arrived. We would like to have known what the regular lunch menu was like, but hostess said they only served brunch. We had requested a patio table, but none available because local golfers were drinking sodas and coffee outside, so tables are not blocked for diner reservations. We had a window table and someone needs to clean the cobwebs and dirt near floor. Won't be going back.
I go for the ambiance. It is a perfect place to meet friends for lunch because of easy free parking, the atmosphere is very clublike, the tables are far enough apart that you are not hearing everyone else's conversation, there is carpet so it isn't reverberatingly noisy, the chairs are comfortable, and the large windows have nice serene views. My corned beef in my Rueben sandwich seemed somewhat processed but, as I said, I go for the ambiance.
Very unprofessional!! We had reservations for 4 at 1:15 pm on 2/17/2017. When we arrived the place was closed because the golf course was closed. That would have been OK if they were professional enough to let us know that they had closed. No call, no email. Someone dropped the ball.
The food and service were excellent. Good food very reasonably priced. The surprise was they did not have decaffeinated coffee!!! The excuse was that the machine was broken - but then use one of the regular coffee machines. Other than that, all was very nice per usual.
I've been coming here for years; the menu has changed and not for the better; it is mostly just burgers and sandwiches; use to love the Caesar salad with shrimp; no longer there; the atmosphere is still great; the waiters are still pleasant; need to update the menu
I brought a group of friends -- 5 of us -- to brunch last Sunday. Our server, "Fletcher," was a delightful young man and made every effort to afford us good service, but we had to remind him to bring us silverware and napkins (which should have been on the table). The food, sadly, was mediocre. 3 of us order the "omelet of the day" and the remaining 2 guests ordered pancakes and a club sandwich respectively. The omelets were rubbery, the potatoes over salted, and my English muffin was barely toasted.
In sum: not up to the Presidio Cafe's usual standard.
