   This is our second attempt. The food was mediocre, service was strained. Just an awkward place overall. What I assumed was the manager walked around intently over and over but seemed to ignore the needs of our table. Our waitress was given too many tables so in her defense, she seemed stressed. Small things like the dishes our entrees were served on…mismatched. Just odd overall.

   We love Preserved. It’s our go-to for special occasions. The food was outstanding as usual as was the ambiance. Our server was very professional but seemed to be busy, however others stepped in readily.

    Made the reservation for my wife’s birthday, when we first started coming to St. Augustine they had just started to renovate this house, and before we came this time I found out that they had turned it into a nice restaurant. So of course I had to make us reservations. You won’t be disappointed, we sat outside on the porch and just sitting there with the breeze and the soft music takes you back to a time where life wasn’t as stressful. Where you could just sit down and enjoy a meal and not feel rushed, and that doesn’t even touch how good the food was. We chose the roasted oysters for our starter and they were delicious. My wife had the pork chop and she could not stop raving about it all night. I had the braised short rib, which was absolutely amazing. To me it was their version of a southern pot roast. And for dessert since it was my wife’s birthdays they provided her with a crème brûlée on the house. And that was the perfect finish to a wonderful, wonderful meal.

    We were celebrating a birthday. Sat outside because everyone told us we needed to experience it. Water dripped on the table all night AND there were ants all over the table. Disgusting cracks in the table. Not a great experience.

    We went here for a birthday dinner. Everyone was very helpful and I had a cake delivered which they prepared and brought out for a surprise! The food was great and the ambience was wonderful! Would definitely recommend and we will be eating here again.

    Our visit was outstanding. The service from beginning to end was very attentive without being intrusive. Our dinners were perfection, hats off to the Chef! We adored the ambience on the Front porch. We look forward to our return visit in the near future. She a lovely retreat for dinner in saint Augustine, Fl.

    We dined on our anniversary and wow what a special experience. Highly recommend this hidden gem. We actually ate again here a couple nights later as the service and food was impeccable. You won’t be disposing. Food is amazing and wine list is extensive. Can’t wait to go back.

    Asked for outdoor seating and ate out in the garden area for the first time. Service was a little slower but food and wine excellent. We had the chicken and the short ribs. My husband had the raw oysters and said they were outstanding.

    Great place, local chef/owner really cares about what he plates. Simple menu shows they conservative on just good food. Loved the short Rib. Lived the desserts! We ordered lemon Rhubarb bread pudding and Creme Bruleé, both scrumptious! Great for locals like myself, but especially visitors on the old house location, so southern!

    We were celebrating a birthday and arrived at 7:30pm. Just two of us and we were seated inside. Eamon was our waiter. It started off well as we ordered salads and drinks. The salads arrived, we enjoyed. Eamon asked if we were finished with the salad portion and we said yes and instead of clearing the dishes, left them on our small table for 25 minutes. The plates were finally cleared and we literally waited another 42 minutes for the two entrées. We watched tables of guests who all arrived after us getting their entrées and Eamon was no where to be found. We finally received our entrees by another waiter at 9pm. At this point we were ready to go but since we were celebrating a birthday, we made the mistake of ordering dessert. We then waited another 24 minutes for the desserts. Eamon stopped by to tell us there was a table of 10 who ordered dessert and that we would be delayed. We then canceled the desserts and asked for the check. The check was then incorrect twice, going to and from the back and finally appeared via a supervisor who blamed the errors on the processing system. They then comped the desserts to go and we left at 10pm!! Note: we arrived at 7:30pm. I rated the food higher because it was good but the service experience was downright terrible and our birthday celebration was ruined. We were so glad to leave at the end. Lastly, the indoor dining room was extremely loud.

    Preserved is consistently a wonderful restaurant. The locally sourced menu is prepared in a creative fashion and is absolutely delicious. The staff are knowledgeable and professional. The ambiance is relaxing and their wine menu is superb. One of our favorite restaurants.

    The food and service were excellent. We made reservations in advance. They originally tried to seat us at a table by the wall but I preferred to sit by a window and they accommodated that. The other diners were respectful of keeping the noise level down. The Crème Brûlée was excellent, but I recommend you split it!

    Anniversary dinner that left nothing to be desired! Excellent escargot, tile fish and scallops with creative garnishes and tasty sauces. Wonderful service and a special occasion treat of scrumptious creme brûlée!

    We have gone to Preserved several times before and the service and food is always incredible. However, when we went last night, it was not their best night. We had a reservation for 7:30pm, and a spot was not reserved for us. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes from our reservation time to even get seated. Our waitress was kind, but they must have been short staffed, as the waitress did not come by very often. After we placed our food order, it took almost another 45 minutes for our food to come out. We then felt uncomfortable as the restaurant closed at 9pm, but since we had to wait extra for our reserved table and then for the food to come out, we felt rushed and uncomfortable to finish our meal as we ended up needing to stay past closing. Generally I love this place and the ambience, however we were disappointed in the wait times and lack of a reserved table for us. We had plans after dinner and we’re not able to make those plans since we needed to wait much longer than anticipated. The food was still delicious.

    We had been wanting to try Preserved for some time, and finally made it there for my husband's 50th birthday. Everything was outstanding - from the Hostess who was so gracious and sweet when we arrived late for our reservation, to our waitress who was lovely and attentive (but not "overly attentive). The location, ambience, and food were all top notch. We cannot wait to come back!

    Food prepared with care, local ingredients and freshness that makes this an outstanding experience. Charcuterie board one of the best I have had. Flavors and quality abound. Had scallops for an entree. Cooked perfectly and use of texture and flavor perfect. Dessert left us speechless. Salted brownie was buttery, sugary, chocolaty and fudgey all at once. Highly recommend.

    This is our favorite restaurant in St Aug. Outstanding service, staff, atmosphere and food. We love sitting outside in garden area. It is worth price for a special dinner. I had the duck and my husband has the drum fish of the day. Madeline was our server and was great. All the staff assists which is why the service is so good!
