Best restaurant in St. Augustine. Relax and enjoy. Local flavor in a great historic setting.
I love the Preserved, and really enjoy sitting on the veranda the most. It’s a beautiful setting and the food is the best in St Augustine. It’s creative, well presented and delicious. The staff is attentive and always has suggestions. It’s busy so you’ll need a reservation.
Good omelet with a simple salad made with special greens. Almond scone was very good.
Excellent experience. We visit St. Augustine annually and always make it a point to dine at Preserved.
We were on vacation and heard great things about the food. The mussels were amazing. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals as well. Excellent
Preserved never disappoints. Always delicious. Pleasant atmosphere. Very well trained servers. Don’t leave without having the Creme brûlée
Food was nothing to write home about and it is over priced. DON’T sit outside very loud. Hosteses stand workers are very loud and have no consideration to people sitting around them. Finally got moved inside and it was much better. Our waitress was really good. She is the one that moved us inside and was very attentive to our needs.
Outstanding food and service! the highlight was coco the cat sitting next to me half of my dinner 🐈
Wonderful experience from the moment we checked in. Well organized and effortless in how they seat you, clear other tables and serve you. Food quality is excellent. Charming ambiance. One of the best restaurants we have found in our travels. Highly recommend.
We’ve eaten here a few times before and food and service were just fine. And the ambiance is always lovely. Something was very off at our last visit including over cooked fish and pork chops and tasteless and slightly undercooked mussels. The manager was very gracious and didn’t charge us for some of our dinner. But I am now reluctant to return. We felt even worse because we had picked the restaurant and we were embarrassed that our friends who hadn’t eaten there before had such a poor experience.
Wonderful service with a very eclectic menu
The ambiance and service was outstanding. My foil gras was divine and the oyster special delicious. The wine list spectacular. That’s where it ends. I had the strip steak special and was almost too salty to eat(I did leave half). Your duck breast was actually tough. This was not our first time dining here, and we were very disappointed. If it had been our first visit, we would not have gone back again. Feeling sorry.
Food was local whenever possible and FRESH. Absolutely delicious. When greeted by our server, who was a top notch professional, we were informed of the MANY items that they were out of. My bad luck, but they were my top choices for appetizers and entrees. That was disappointing. I ended up with catch of the day over a creative version of jambalaya. Partners steak cooked perfectly. Excellent meal. Value for fresh ingredients was difficult to determine. $120 for 1 glass of wine, 1 appetizer, 1 steak, 1 ala carte side, my catch entree and 1 coffee seemed high. You get what you pay for- so if you are looking for a guaranteed satisfied palate, you can’t go wrong.
The food was great, but took one hour to get our meals. We sat outside and was uncomfortable due to rain and cold.
Outstanding! Two of us dined on a rainy Sunday evening and it was still packed. We had the spinach and bacon salad, mussels appetizer, scallop entree, and the duck. Everything was amazing! Even the bread! I even loved the charred/grilled green beans that came with the scallops. We also shared the apple crepes for dessert and were really pleased with those as well. Would definitely recommend this place to people who want a great meal.
Heather was very attentive and professional, yet personable. The haricot vere salads were a bit hit! Our chicken dish was superb as was the vegetarian shepherds pie and the braised short rib. The best dessert was the pecan pie with chocolate mousse! Decadent!
We have gone to the preserve since it opened but the menu has degraded over time. We love the location and building but food definitely has taken a hit over the years. I don't know what happened. Maybe new chef? Either way it's still a nice place to spend an evening with someone special.
We loved Preserved and highly recommend it. The shrimp and grits were wonderful; the pastries were excellent.
Both our entrées served with cold potatoes. My English muffin was so cold and tough I could not cut it without a steak knife. It was very disappointing.
Always great service and food!
The service beginning at the host station and and continuing to wait staff and kitchen/bar was welcoming and friendly and professional as has been our experience when we were at Preserved for dinner. The Sunday brunch on the wrap around porch was delicious and comfortable on a sunny morning. My smoked salmon, goat cheese and sundried tomato omelette was exceptional. The eggs obviously farm fresh. My husband enjoyed the Mayport Shrimp and said the smoky bacon grits and creamed corn were outstanding (I tasted them and agree!) We were glad to have had one of your signature shrubmosas. Very refreshing. Thanks to everyone involved for providing a memorable experience for us! We'll be back and have already recommended to friends.
Always a great experience having weekend brunch on the front porch.
Made a reservation but had to wait so they could pull two tables together to make a four top. Then the host forgot about us.
Great special occasion restaurant. We sat on the porch and felt like we were in Savannah! Beer and wine only; no liquor.
Good food, great ambiance.
We ate outside on a chilly night but it was very comfortable with the heaters on. The short rib was delicious. I loved the Irish stout chocolate cake!
Excellent food and service
The service was good the waitress was pleasant and very attentive, the chicken was over cooked
My experience here has been very good each time we dine here. We come on special occasions. The food is delicious, the pairing of foods in each entree make for a delicious combination and an appealing presentation. The servers are very attentive and are there to present each coarse of the meal and clear once you have finished each coarse. The ambiance is pleasant and dining area spaced out enough allowing for a casual or level of conversation during your dinner. My wife and I enjoy eating here and recommend this restaurant frequently.
Everything was phenomenal! From the ambience to the service to the food! We had the charcuterie board and shared the scallops for dinner and it was divine! We will be back!
Outstanding in all respects. Great food in a great setting and wonderful service. And.....there’s parking.
Took my work team to dinner to thank them for their hard work. And as always was very impressed with the impeccable service and attention to detail. We had the scallops, short rib and a charcuterie board. Everything was delicious. The server gave a great description of the items on the charcuterie board and gave excellent suggestions on how to combine the items.
This restaurant exceeded every expectation I had. When I walked up and saw that it was built in an old-timey house I was stunned and became very excited. This fact added to the cozy feel inside. The service was outstanding and our waitress was on point every step of the way. Then when we actually had the food each bite felt like I was enjoying it again for the first time. I was in heaven. If you can spend the money I recommend this place every day of the week, just make sure to have a reservation.
Had a table on the porch. Warm night made it quite comfortable. Knowledgeable server with good tips for other dining experiences in and around St. Augustine. Food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Highlights were red. Snapper with crawfish jambalaya and the scallop with green beans bacon lardons pickled cranberries and a chestnut crema Oh yes and the pecan pie topped with chocolate mousse candied orange atop a brown butter cream sauce
Loved the restored house and dining on the porch was a great atmosphere. Intersection traffic was a little loud for sitting on the porch was still very nice. You can sit inside or in the patio area as well. Service was great, food was delicious. Our server did a great job explaining the dishes and making recommendations. We look forward to going back.
I had the fresh daily catch, which was flounder. I found it a tad dry and also was not impressed by the accompaniment. I found it mushy and a mix of flavours none of which I could decipher. I wish I’d selected the scallops, which my husband said were excellent.
Wonderful dining experience for my mom’s, 82nd birthday! The brunch menu had much to offer and was very reasonably priced. Megan was very attentive to us and even offered mom a creme brûlée on the house!!
Best fresh oysters I have ever had. Quiche was amazing
Wonderful experience, we will be visiting again! The food is amazing and the service was wonderful. You can tell that they really take pride in the quality and presentation of the food. Service was great, and they were very accommodating, as we unexpectedly changed our reservation and brought our small dog. The chicken hash and the shrimp and grits were delicious. And we highly recommend the pastries!
