Great service and food.
amazing waiter! great food!
Great mussels and Caesar salad. Looking forward to going back to try other things on the menu!
I had a group of six for afternoon brunch after Easter. Each person had a separate entree and we were all delighted with what we had! I had a beet and spinach salad with chicken that was absolutely delicious, my friend was happy with his mushroom omelet, everyone was happy with the spicy bloody mary, and the bacon wrapped dates were sublime! A great dining experience!
Everything was wonderful. The fish tacos and the burger was great! One of our best meals in L Jolla.
Nice ambiance - outdoor seating only, but half is shaded. Great falafel, I especially loved the pickled veggies.
Awesome food. Great service. Reasonably priced.
Favorite low key brunch spot. Burger was on point
We seem to remember more choices and more variety on the menu a year ago when we were visiting La Jolla, but we may be mistaken.
Prep Kitchen never disappoints! We constantly find ourselves counting down to the next time we can visit! The staff is friendly, informative, and patient. We come with our small children and they are so sweet to us. The food is insane! SO good! Every time I go I say whatever I ordered is the best thing ever. Haha! Get the chilaquiles for sure!
Food and service are what you would expect. On a cold night you have to sit indoors and its a small place. They were understaffed with wait staff, so things moved slowly.
All the food was delicious. The service is efficient and friendly. The patio heaters kept us warm even though it was a chilly evening.
Always a great time. Excellent service and the food is amazing.
Versatile menu provides options for casual and upscale dining. Cozy environment with friendly service. Good value, will return.
We were seated in the covered patio and there was a foursome nearby that were so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak unless it was in each other's ears. Another couple near us said they were having trouble as well. Our dinner was not enjoyable at all. We know all about those two couple's lives, though. I mentioned this to the server and he just smiled understandingly. However, I think when other people's dinner's are disrupted, management should come and ask them to tone the noise level down. I don't understand how people could be so inconsiderate. This was our worst experience at any PrepKitchen location ever.
Outstanding food, service. Great gluten free options.
Ryan and his team are reliably excellent. Food is great. Service is consistently excellent. They care about their clientele.
We sat outside. It was a delightful dinner.
We ate there, 3 times last year, early 2017 and had a fantastic experience each time. However this year, January, 2018, our experience left us unsatisfied. The daily special, sea bass, was underwhelming. And, unlike our past experiences, there were no special, one-bite-each, surprises from the kitchen. Generally, everything was lacking any excitement. We'll try them again, and I hope the next time will be a little more creative.
Great locals spot for consistently good food and service. We had the fish tacos & cauliflower dish, both of which were very good.
Love the food and the quaint atmosphere!! We will go back when we visit San Diego again. It was so good and service was great. The waiter gave us our dessert for free because he said that he thought our dinner took to long to come out!!!
This is my weekly go-to restaurant. Great food and service. Simple and super casual.
Not enough Vegetarian Options - they need to offer at least a Veggie Burger
Fresh and good quality food!
Delightful little restaurant in La Jolla. The persimmon and burrata app was delicious!
Fun outdoor dining in La Jolla. I enjoyed the roasted beet and spinach salad. Make sure you try the roasted chicken - it is flavorful and perfectly cooked. All food was very fresh and delicious.
Very friendly, highly competent staff. Our reserved table was waiting for us at arrival. Nice ambiance and great menu.
This spot in La Jolla has become a favorite of ours. The menu items are always fresh and interesting. Two of us had the fish tacos, which were superb; one person tried one of their sandwiches, which as I recall involved squash and pear--she pronounced it fabulous. We had time at the end before our concert to order dessert; we shared the bread pudding, and although we each resolved to take only one bite, it was gone in a flash. Great food, great service.
Great food and service. Too bad they do not have a bigger indoor seating space.
Great craft cocktails and good different takes on different food dishes. Would definitely go again.
Great food and atmosphere. The cauliflower is fabulous. Will return
Good outdoor patio seating. Good selection of food and wines. All Farm to table food. Nice and friendly service.
The experience at PrepKitchen La Jolla was a bit mixed. I enjoyed our tempura cauliflower appetizer, though my boyfriend felt it was on the saltier side. He had a meat based dish which he said was very good, but unfortunately I wasn't blown away by my fish meal. Our server had talked it up as one of his favorite dishes, but unfortunately it didn't match what I had hoped. The fish was the daily catch, a fresh bass cooked to perfection. I didn't realize it was a red sauce preparation though, and I don't usually like red sauces with fish. On top of it was a sweet pepper type topping, and unfortunately I prefer salty over sweet. Overall the service was amazing (they gave us a free and amazing cake slice for a very minor table confusion that didn't bother us at all too much) and while I wasn't thrilled with my food I do believe it was simply a matter of taste preferences. I'd definitely try to go again to try something else.
We were never asked for our drink order until we were asked for our food order & it took a long time after we were seated with a reservation for this to happen. Our food was good & everyone said they would order the same thing again but the service was poor.
The staff at Prep Kitchen were so friendly and helpful! My friend and I went for my birthday dinner. Even though they were closing at about 9:30 pm, they let us stay a little longer and didn't rush us at all, which was really nice of them. Five stars for sure! I plan on coming back.
Great food and service. Nice place for outside dining. A little pricey, but recommended.
Very pleased with the ambiance, selection, tasty food, and service. Well-priced for what it is. Comfortable place. We brought our puppy and sat outdoors.
Quality food, a bit pricey but great for special occasions and dates! :D
Stopped by for a quick bite before catching a play at the La Jolla Theater and it was wonderful. Service was fast, food was delicious and the ambiance refreshing. Sat on the patio and soaked in the late summer sun as we ate. Will be back!
Food here is always great. Just beer and wine but certainly sufficient with a good meal. Their roasted chicken is the juiciest chicken I ever had and its delicious. Will always be back.
