Precita Park Cafe
A good place, a little loud, great service and atmosphere. Pizza margherita was short on basil. Not the best one around.
Outstanding! Found it on the internet looking for a good restaurant. We were in SF for two days. Their ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible. Liked it so much we went back for lunch. I believe they have four restaurants spread throughout San Francisco.
We dined on the night of a PRIDE fundraiser. The cafe was
Very full but the service never lagged. They had festive themed menu items for the occasion. We will definitely return as food was excellent.
I wish I lived closer to this spot - but it's worth driving across town for! This is a great little cafe.
We had a $45 pre-fixe menu, which was a bit steep for a very casual, noisy restaurant with underwhelming food with small portions. There were dogs permitted, and I find this disgusting in eating establishments. This is more a place to go for coffee or brunch, as the ambiance gives you cement floors, plastic chairs, and lots of noise. We weren't really sure who our server was, since there were three people who took turns showing up to the table... and they got our order wrong, then our main course was luke-warm. They seem to try to be creative with their food, but it just doesn't come off right. The one thing that I did like is that they were LGBTQ-friendly, and fit in with the surrounding neighborhood environment (there's a dog park across the street).
Great food in a nice spot. Lots of friendly pups to say Hi to while dining
Really good food. We all shared a brussel sprouts starter, a burger, the steak, and the salmon. All were delicious. Beautiful location right next to a park. The floorplan is open space and very informal. Kids were running around and we had a blast. Not a formal spot but a great neighborhood gem.
Very good service and food. Quiet, privacy and plenty of elbow room. I would recommend better constructed and more comfortable chairs.
I’ve had many a Caesar salad, one world class by a Michelin three-star chef; Precita Park’s was second only to that. Unique and DELICIOUS!!
We loved our dining experience at Precita Park Cafe. The food was awesome and our server was attentive but not overbearing. I’m looking forward to returning for another meal.
Casual dining in a charming corner of San Francisco. Delicious food & excellent service.
The food and service was very good and, at 6:15 pm, there was plenty of "elbow room".
I had the fried chicken sandwich my friend ordered the hamburger and fries .
Both dishes were very creatively prepared and very tasty. A shared glass of house Cabernet went well with both meals.
Next time I will try the linguini with meatballs.
Great staff and friendly service!
Great as always
This place is a hidden gem! Food was great and the service was awesome! My server was Adam and another server was helping. Didn't get her name but they were both good. We started with the Brussels sprouts and truffle fries which are very good and since there was no ranch we asked for the garlic aioli. The garlic aioli was to die for! Then we finished off with their special that night which was the Winter salad and fried chicken sandwich. We had such an amazing experience and will definitely come back!
Incredibly nice servers! I originally requested a table outside but she reserved us a backup spot indoors when she realized the evening was getting cold and we might prefer to be inside, which we did. And really friendly and attentive and helpful the whole evening. Made for a great experience!
Great place for locally sourced food and vegan options. Good menu selection. Decent craft beer on tap. Very friendly service. Food was good.
The staff here are always exceptional -- friendly, fun, not intrusive or overly formal. The brussel sprouts made my usually-vegetarian friend cry out, "Delicious1"
We went for Rainbow Pride night where all the food was rainbow themed. It was delicious and super fun. The staff was attentive and went out of their way to meet all our needs. It's a friendly neighborhood place that serves food a cut above your expectations. We will definitely return.
It’s a nice find, the Mac and cheese was excellent, also enjoyed the burger
Loved the Hangar steak and the burger
We had a wonderfully warm experience and felt very looked after by the serving staff. The food was excellent and came incredibly quickly (make sure you go with a big appetite!).
We love Precita Park Cafe for brunch and this was our first time trying dinner--the number of options were fantastic for pleasing everyone, and we especially appreciated that some came gluten free automatically (e.g. the mac and cheese).
Always a delicious, laid back experience and not overpriced. I love the cafe-European feel of a neighborhood restaurant that always feels welcoming and less pretentious. We ordered the steak and fish dishes which were both excellent along with the brussel sprouts which were amazing.
Took some extended family here for a casual birthday dinner (mom's) and felt very embarrassed for having done so. Service was abominable, and the restaurant was freezing. Pizza looked like frozen store-bought pizza, perhaps because it was about 60 degrees inside and the cheese solidified immediately. Will not be going back.
I’ve never experienced a sit down dinner where, in the middle of the appetizer, waitress comes by to offer to “box up” the remaining appetizer because the entree is ready. We told her just leave the entree and we’ll make room on the table. Same thing happened with the dessert. We weren’t done with the entree and she brought out our desserts. Usually I hate slow service, but felt rushed this time. On top of all that, I was double charged for my beverage. Food was tasty and well presented, but doubt I will go back.
Precita Cafe is one of our favorite neighborhood places to eat. Good good and great service. One example of the service: it was very cold outside the night we went and without us asking, the hostess brought brought us cups of hot water to drink and warm up while we got settled. Nice touch!
Food was great! Only complaint, we were there late-ish on a week night. Waiter just left check after dinner, didn't even offer dessert. If you are open until 10pm and it's only 9:30pm you don't rush your customer out.
Love this place. Low key, great food, awesome service. Ate here 4X now in 2017.
Been here 3 times for dinner. Great casual spot for healthy dining. Vegan friendly as well. Awesome Bernal Heights neighborhood place with lots of local patrons.
All ok but burgers well under cooked, even when you order well done or medium.
Everything was so great for our friend's birthday. Scribe Chardonnay recommended from our server Morgan. The fish dish, pizza and salads were all delicious. A wonderful neighborhood experience without all the pomp and 'tude
Always delicious. Always great service. Pizzas are first rate.
We love Precita Park Cafe! Unpretentious, wholesome fresh meals with craft beers and higher end California wines.
Pasta always tastes super fresh. Classic Italian
Kids personal pizzas are popular with our kids
Chicken with lemon sauce also delicious
Local Brew black lager (Yes!)
Servers are friendly
Service can be spotty when busy
Walking in servers can be a little too casual as it can be confusing when walking through the door
Overall, a casual go to inviting place with great food and affordable for San Francisco
I love this neighborhood cafe! The food is good & the place is very comfy and happy. I've been going here for years & it's gotten fancier over time. It's not expensive, but it's no longer cheap.
I live very near the Precita Park Cafe, so it's an easy solution for last minute get-togethers with neighborhood friends or a quick bite, good glass of wine on the way home from a long walk. All their pasta and pizza is homemade and good. They offer small healthy items like locally sourced wilted seasonal greens and small interesting salads. Their specials are usually very good, fresh, healthy and creative. It's one large room, very echo-ish and can be full of neighborhood families and kids, which are quite welcome. Outdoor seating overlooking the park is lovely on a nice evening.
Great dinner! Great atmosphere and right across from the park. Very kid friendly with great food too. Love the beer flight.
Always a neighborhood treat. Great food. Great Value. Always leave feeling satisfied
This cafe was not a decent food experience. To begin the service was totally inadequate. Our order was delivered as incorrect. We ordered risotto but they brought us gnochi? We had to ask twice to have our water glasses refilled. They sat the only other diners that came into the place at a table right next to us while there was an empty restaurant full of empty tables.
My wife and I live just up the hill and have been going to PPC since it opened. We usually just walk in and have a good experience; quality wholesome food with quick and friendly service. This day we made a reservation because my mom was with us and wanted to be safe with the bigger party. It started off great with the waiter being helpful. We were completely surrounded by tables with screaming kids, but I know this is a family place and don't hold that against the restaurant. We then proceeded to wait 50 minutes for our food. The waiter did check in on us a few times and apologize. They were as courteous as the could have been. But this is a neighborhood cafe for a nice-casual meal. If the kitchen is that backed up, we should have been warned ahead. We were all very hungry and would have made a different plan..weren't looking for a long dinner. I really expected something to be comped on our bill for the crazy long wait. Maybe our burrata or one of the beers comped would have been a pretty standard gesture in this situation at most restaurants (I made a living as a server for several years so I know from professional experience). But instead of something comped .... we actually had a drink we never ordered charged to us; kind of a kick in the gut at that point. Staff need some training on how to handle busy times.
