Terrible service and cold food as a result.
Had a great time here while staying at the hotel. Food was great, service was great, and location was very convenient.
Enjoyable dining experience. Great wine selection and well prepared food. I was a little disappointed by the crab cake; it was shredded crab meat and not jumbo lump (which is should have been given the price). The bar area can be crowded and loud, but the restaurant seating area was much more spacious. Great service!
Very friendly staff - made you feel like they wanted to serve you
Good mussels and scallops tagliatelle. Great French Onion Soup and Beet salad. Very good service. Nice outside courtyard. My only real complaint (and it is a pet peeve) is that my dish sat too long while the mussels were prepared, so that when served, it was not hot.
I had brunch here with two friends on a Sunday and we had a good meal with attentive service. We ate outside which was pleasant - some ambient street noise but it didn’t bother us. I would recommend the breakfast pizza.
I enjoyed a mother/daughter brunch here, and it was a lovely experience. The smoked salmon Benedict was delicious, as was the bellini. My mother had the margherita flatbread, which was also very good. We were able to sit outside in the lower patio area, which was very nice, although at one point the sun was really beating down from between two buildings, and there wasn't sufficient shade for me to be able to avoid it or adjust how I was sitting. But it didn't last very long. Overall, everything was great.

But the bar next door is SOOO Noisy...hard to hear each other at the dining table. The food is great, service too and the restaurant is lovely, but it is adjacent to the noisiest busiest bar around and that really detracts from dining pleasure (let alone sanity). Too bad. Great place on a quiet night. We've been there other nights when it was fine.

The location, atmosphere & food were all excelle t. It was noisy, however, very hard for conversation.

Service was incredibly slow. The build your own bloody Mary bar that's advertised online does not exist. The food was the same quality that you would find at a chain restaurant like Applebee's. Totally not worth the money. I think because it's attached to the hotel, this restaurant thinks I can get away with charging higher than normal prices for food. There's so many better choices for restaurants around this area.
Party of 6 on Saturday early evening. We were seated promptly, menu had a good mix of options, drinks and food were all as ordered and all was excellent. The most notable part of the evening was the service, which simply could not have been any more professional - an absolute treat when service is this exceptional.
Service and food was really good. Steak was cooked to true medium rare and our server was super friendly
Was genuinely impressed with the service and food at this hotel restaurant. Had attended a book event across street and it was conveniently located. The waiter Greg was so attentive and accommodating. He knew we were sharing everything and was nice enough to split portions without us even having to ask.. Food was so flavorful and savory! The lobster risotto was my favorite.. there was actually a lot of whole chunks of lobster in there. Was not expecting that and was pleasantly surprised! Steak was cooked to perfection and the meat very flavorful, seasoned well. Will definitely come back and would recommend to others!

Food was decent though
The appetizer green beans with the crisp leeks was very unappealing (the leeks seemed stale) and the beans that came with the ribs were under cooked. The rest of the meal was lovely-- delicious flavors overall; great wait service & ambiance.
I hate to say this but my friends and I were not impressed. The service was slow and we had a lot of trouble getting the waitress’s attention to ask for the check so that we could make it to a movie on time, even though the restaurant was only half-full. I enjoyed the “cheesy broccoli” a lot, but it was really not cheesy, just grilled broccoli, and my friends were a bit disappointed. The ragout was very bland. We were trying the place out for Restaurant Week and I don’t think we’ll be going back.

Great ambiance but they don’t provide any history in the great location and why the restaurant was so named. Lost marketing opportunity. It took a long time to get drinks. The server kept forgetting to bring parts of the order to the table and when the food arrived they put 3 of the 5 meals down in front of the wrong people & we traded while they walked away to see about the other two meals. The food quality was high and we did enjoy everything that was served. Also the air conditioning vent overhead dripped condensation onto the floor perilously close to our table. Mateo has a fantastic Server!
Wanted to place in Back Bay that also had a patio for the summertime. I had previously read the menu online and it's a very good variety of breakfast as well as lunchtime options. The breakfast entree we ordered was wonderful and a very generous size. We did have to ask twice for my bakery basket that I ordered. I was hoping it would come out first so we could take our time but it ended up coming out after our entree since I had to ask for it

Made reservations and specifically told them it was a special occasion but the hostess never told our server so nothing was done until I prompted the server which kind of ruined my wife’s birthday surprise. My wife’s steak was ordered medium but was cooked VERY well done. My lobster risotto was excellent. We split a charred octopus appetizer which was very good and the highlight of the evening. The service was, overall, very slow due, I suspect, to a large group seated ahead of us. Nothing about the experience was particularly memorable or special so doubt we’ll return there for our next occasion. The boston creme pie was a tiny biscuit covered in chocolate ganache but minus any cream filling so a big disappointment except for the “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate on the serving dish. It was about two small bites each and gone. The “Nor’easter” cocktail I had before dinner was quite good ... bourbon, maple and ginger but my wife did not like the very sour red sangria. Both the beer and wine lists seemed lacking ... no brown/amber ales for me and no wines on the sweeter side for my wife.

We found the food to be delicious but the service was among the worst we’d ever had. After an unreasonably long wait, our server never bothered to introduce himself or make any other kind of introduction. He just asked what we wanted to drink. Same thing for our food orders. Again the food was good — when it finally arrived. One of our party asked for chicken but was brought a vegetarian dish instead. Someone else ordered a drink at the start of our experience that did not arrive until after the food. Overall, I’d keep the chef but not the rest of the staff.

When I think of the Precinct I think LOUD! It almost ruined the meal. We could barely hear each other which was so disappointing.

My friend and I had a table outside, and we really enjoyed the ambiance, though street noise was loud at some points. Our Greek salads were fresh and delicious, and our server was attentive while respecting our desire to catch up with each other. This is a lovely spot to enjoy lunch outside in Boston (Back Bay) when it is not too hot or humid.

Our waiter was very nice and it was lovely having lunch outside. However, I was hugely disappointed with my burger; I had one for dinner several months ago and it was outstanding, but this time not at all; ordered it medium-rare and it came well-done and tasteless. We explained this to the waiter who took it back, offered something else but my friend and I were okay sharing lobster salad (and the French fries which were yummy).The chocolate lava cake was also delicious...

the staff was so considerate about making sure my mom who cannot day gluten was able to have many options! very nice place, kind of expensive, but worth it.

So, I was very Lucky. My friend had the oysters. And I didn't due to a food intolerance. They have been viontley Ill for the last 4 or 5 hours. Not a good experience. Avoid at all costs.
Took my mom for a birthday lunch after seeing the Downton Abbey exhibit, it was lovely! Had a fabulous lobster Cobb salad, good service, felt new and fresh and the history of the building was interesting too.
Ok...nothing to write home about—small menu, had crab cake and it was flat
On vacation in Boston. Looking for dinner in that part of town. Very nice hostess. Food was very good. A hit pricey, but expected for the area in Boston.

The lobster cobb salad and the kale quinoa salad with shrimp were very mediocre. Very little lobster or other components one expects on a cobb salad (egg, bacon, etc.). The avocado-based dressing was taste-less. I would try them again for an after-work drink in the bar, but not for lunch or dinner.
