Prato - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
The fields salad had way way way to much vinegar. The server could have cared less about our table as she liked the people next to us more. Main courses we're amazing and very well prepared. It was our anniversary so I asked to sit away from the bar, but we were sat next to the bar anyways. Overall good experience. Not the best but we go here every year for our anniversary and will continue to do so.
I've seen this place on TV a lot and it was highly recommended by colleagues when I was a concierge. I lived in Chicago for 6 years and spend a lot of time in NYC for work. This place was on par with the best that those cities have to offer and is hands down one of the best places in Central Florida. The pasta dishes were the best we've ever had and the pizza was top five for sure. Our wine was okay on its own but came alive when paired with our meals.
The ambience is great. It is modern/trendy and elegant without it trying to be anything it's not. Service was on point. I'd highly recommend.
I enjoyed the ambiance of the surroundings. The wooden structure made me feel cozy. Sitting indoors was nice and walking to the bathroom makes you feel like you're walking into the kitchen which is pretty cool. The food was delicious but portion size is small. I think that's how it should be. $34 for two bowls of pasta but its Park Ave and the surroundings were nice. You pay for the environment and quality of the food. I would definitely go again.
Great place highly recommend! Awesome atmosphere and great food! Very knowledgeable friendly and informative staff! Very educated on their menu. All ingredients were fresh and made to order! We will definitely be back! Enjoyed an awesome family dinner for Family Weekend at Rollins and celebrated two birthdays!
Absolutely delicious!!! Loved the mix of flavors in our food. The handcrafted cocktails were amazing. Too loud for my taste, but that’s not their fault. Had a great waiter who gave us excellent suggestions, as it was our first time at Prato. Will definitely return and take friends.
Our server Steve was excellent. He made awesome suggestions and guided us well on our beverage and food choices. Everything we selected was truly outstanding. If you choose Prato expect great cuisine and a very “energetic” aka loud environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
When we arrived we were seated instantly and had our waters within a minute. The bread with dipping oil came next and our entrees shortly after. The mustard pasta dish I got was amazing and so was her steak dish. Excellent wine selection. We'll be back for some of that amazing authentic pizza.
Prato always has amazing food!! Service was pretty good. I raved to my friends about the meatballs and when we went to order we were told they were out. I feel this should be told when greeted by the server. Also, the specialty drinks are way too expensive to be a short glass filled with ice. Over all, I go to Prato for the food and ambience .
Food was good and delicious but seemed like it was missing something on the plate? Not sure what but plating is always good for making a meal.......looked just okay. Taste though was spot on. Brittany was a very good host however I wish she asked us if we'd like dessert ? I boxed 1/2 my lunch and would have loved to have shared a dessert. Overall great and of course I will be back Brittany kept our water refilled was super friendly and I will ask for her agian.
with much sincerity, thank you. Deb G.
Prato is a favorite for my wife and I and we looked forward to our visit but things were a bit off this night. We appreciated their honoring our request for a booth on a very busy night where they could have given it to a party of four. The ambiance was very lively (loud) but as expected. Stephen provided very good service except for a fairly lengthy time to get our drink orders. We understand Prato is an Italian restaurant but at least a few popular California wine selections would be nice. My wife and I shared the Escarole Caesar salad that was poor due to the dressing having been drenched with lemon juice. I did like my choice of the flatiron steak but my wife did not like the ravioli. Prato will stay in our rotation but we plan to "give it a rest" for awhile.
Food was good, but the quality has gone down since they opened. Their dishes used to feel more inspired and unique, but now they seem more ordinary and mass appealing. The red snapper cheek was delicious and I love their Caeser salad, but everything else was just 'ok.'. Our server seemed disinterested in our table which was weird because it was at least a $200 ticket, so that also effected our experience.
Magical menu though limited did not disappoint and each course added to the magic. Cocktails were innovative and extensive wine list guaranteed a good match with the entrees BUT our server Steven was absolute OUTSTANDING
Knowledgeable about each dish, very affable and attentive
Very disappointed. Magical Dining menu with duck, although tasty, was very small portion and other portion of meal too spicy to eat. Best thing was the meat balls. People sitting beside us said the same thing about their meal and that the pizza on theirs was the best thing.
The food was awful! Starting with the Pasta, which came to our table within 2 min after we ordered it. Clearly it was not made to order. The pasta was so soft and mushed, very over cooked. Such a shame for a restaurant that claims to be Italian and hand maketheir pasta.
Maybe worse was how the server handled the situation. She acted like it was not a big deal, removed the pasta a said the pizza would be coming soon. Offered no solution for the pasta and didn't even send a manager to the table. Later the manager came to the table and offered a different pasta and defended that the pasta was cooked to order. Then eventually said maybe we received someone else's pasta who could have been in front of us. He also said that their pastas typically take 3-4 minutes to prepare. Also ridiculous for a restaurant that claims to be Authentic Italian and made to order. Maybe the worst is he never offered to remake the dish fresh and al dente. Maybe this is because everything is pre-made.
Then the pizza came and it was extremely salty and soggy. When the server came and asked how it was we told her and then said we are done and would leave. Instead of getting the manager and trying to save us ... she said, ok, hope you might gets better and watches us leave.
Even though I had been to this restaurant a few times before with a better experience, don't waste your time and money at this place as it has gone severely downhill.
Nico was a professional and friendly in serving us and providing detailed information about the food items.
The food was outstanding.
The noise level was deafening...do not go here if you are trying to have an ongoing conversation with more than one other person. You both will be hoarse from the yelling.
We will try eating outside to see if the noise level is better...but tables outside are right beside the street noise...
What a fantastic meal. What lovely service from Jennifer, who was both charming and efficient. The beef crudo is a must-order; hazelnuts lend a delightful crunch to the restaurant’s take on steak tartare. The mustard spaghetti is a rich and satisfying carbonara, and the black pepper pappardelle with pork sugo is Italy in a bowl. If the duck confit is on the menu when you go, order some for everyone at your table, and an extra to take home to nibble the next day: the crisp duck skin and tender meat is a dream come true.
