Wonderful time and amazingly delicious food! The gnocchi special was incredible!
I write this review with mixed emotions. My wife and I had a reservation and were placed in a high top. My wife was experiencing discomfort due to her recent knee replacement. I asked the hostess to seat us at a regular table. After a wait she offered to seat us at a table by the curb. Really? We declined and toughed it out. I asked about one of the two empty booths and was told they were not available. I understand why they were saving the booths for a larger party. Except there was one couple in a booth and there was at least one booth available the whole time we ate. We brought this to the attention of the manager. He apologized, said he would make note of it the next time we came in, but did nothing to reseat us. In the big scheme of things it is minor it but did mar a nice dinner.
As for the dinner it was great. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. They tasted great and the serving size was not too much for two people. We shared three half size pasta dishes that were awesome. The Gnocchi was best but the other two were very good too. My wife had a glass of Pinot Grigio and I had two glasses of Barolo. Both wines were good. I especially enjoyed the Barolo. Our server was great. He suggested the pasta dishes which were spot on. The food and service was very good and it was better when I looked at our check.
I would rate our experience as five stars but the seating really made a great experience a good experience. Management could learn that goodwill, hospitality and common sense is more profitable than an empty four top. Go and enjoy, be very specific in your reservation if you have a special seating requirement.
Always wonderful. Our server was amazing.
As always, food and service were amazing!
Service and atmosphere were great but the food was surprisingly lackluster. We always have a great meal but that night wasn’t our night. Everyone has a bad night. Hopefully it was the exception and not a sign of things to come.
I have been coming to Prato for a few years now. I currently live in South Florida now, but make it a point to go to Prato when I get the opportunity. I do have to say the past 3 times I have been the food has been incredibly salty. This past time we had to send back the calamari because it was fishy and too salty. It was removed from the bill. The caesar salad was way to lemony and again salty. The mustard spaghetti, which is my favorite was well done this time, but the past 2 times I have been was almost to salty to eat. The drinks and ambience as well as service is always fantastic. Although I have been disappointed the past 3 time of coming there are still the drinks and great service that keeps on wanting me to give it another try.
The food was great and the service was good as well. The atmosphere wasn’t unpleasant but it was weird. The menu, location and decor make it seem like this would be a nice place to get dinner, but once you’re in there it’s more of a bar atmosphere. It’s a little bit of a contradiction. Overall good dining experience, just a little confused about what kind of restaurant it is.
The four of us all ate something different and we loved what we had. Busy place which means good food and good service.
Great atmosphere, delicious house made pastas.
We had a great time at Prato. My friend from Houston came in to visit so we checked out the wine bar in Winter Park and then ended up at Prato's for dinner. It was delicious. They always have such a unique menu of pasta dishes i've never heard of but am willing to try. We definitely plan on coming back for the food!
We had a reservation for 9:00pm and arrived early, hostess told us our table is being cleaned off and we will be seated shortly, 9:10pm I had to go back up to the hostess and tell her our reservation was at 9 and then she finally seated us. While checking in, a server came up to the front and started complaining about it being “ too busy” and she’s “too tired” to serve and saying “why are there so many reservations” in a whining voice. Like seriously, it’s a Friday night, if you don’t want to work in a restaurant and be a server you should not be there. It’s a shame because I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that heard her. At least the food was great.
I really did enjoy coming here as a date with my girlfriend. She loved it and I loved it cause she was happy. Will come back!
Reservations were for 8:00pm. Arrived on time. Did not get sat until close to 8:15pm. Food was great as always.
My favorite pizza, hand down.
It was my daughters birthday. The food was outstanding tonight. Our server Niko was great and very attentive. My daughters boyfriend had never been and couldn’t stop talking about how good his food was
The food was terrific and our waiter was super helpful and attentive. I highly recommend.
Amazing flavors. Top notch food. Top notch drinks too. Service was very good. All in all, this was a fun dinner with wonderful good. Pretty noisy but we were in a mood where the noise level didn’t bother us.
Great atmosphere. Unique dishes, something for everyone. Lighting is a bit low for old eyes but overall great local Winter Park restaurant.
Awesome, Great experience
Every bite was delicious! The pizza crust, baked in a wood-burning brick oven, had a fabulous texture and flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente, with just enough sauce to flavor and not overwhelm the pasta. Again, the textures of the pasta with the crispy speck were perfectly balanced. The mussels were an especially nice and delicious surprise. The leek chowder at the bottom and the crispy potato pieces also achieved that great texture accompanied with a delicious savoriness. The meatballs were perfect, as well. Not drenched in sauce, and paired with mashed potatoes and crispy crumbs made this another delightful dish. Finally, the service was excellent. We ate this meal over four courses, had great recommendations, and never felt rushed.
Valentines Day dinner couldn’t have been better. Our service was amazing as he recommended everything from our wine to our dessert. The meatball appetizer was amazing as well as the squash soup. We will definitely be back!
Great meal! Great service! We’ll be back soon!
Probably our favorite restaurant in Orlando
Valentine’s day
Amazing!!!
Had dinner on weekend trip to WP. This is not your typical spaghetti / lasagna Italian restaurant. It has a truly special menu offering creative dishes tastefully prepared. My wife had a half order of the butternut squash ravioli - said it was one of the best she’d ever had. We shared the diavolo pizza - the waiter said it had a spicy kick, so we toned it down a little for our tastes; it turned out excellent, with a rich but not too spicy flavor. One of the best Italian meals we’ve had recently!
Our Server Steven was amazing!! My Favorite place to eat on Park Ave
Brilliant menu, attentive wait staff. Our short legs meant we weren’t comfortable on the front tables and were gladly moved to somewhere more suitable. Meatballs are terrific, waiter explained the whole menu, excellent pizza. The butternut squash ravioli was a little short on butternut flavor and if I must be picky then if you’re going to write your menu in Italian then make sure the staff know how they are meant to be pronounced, else just write it in English. I’d welcome a chance to go back next time we’re in Orlando.
The food was delicious. The menu has seasonal changes, but quality and service is consistently excellent. They make the best branzino I’ve had outside of Italy!
I love Prato! On this visit, the service wa a bit less perfect than usual, with my cocktail being prepared incorrectly. And, the Pasta didn’t seem as creative as what I’m used to from Prato. However, it was still wonderful and I’ll definitely be back
The place was hopping at lunchtime today (doesn’t anyone work anymore? 😂) but I was seated quickly and had a wonderful meal as usual.
Prato's never fails to deliver outstanding service, great food and a fun dining experience. The butternut squash ravioli is outstanding, as was the short rib dish. I recommend Prato's to anyone/everyone looking for a great time.l
It was our friend’s birthday. We took him to Prato and each ordered two 1/2 plates of pasta. We shared family style and it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. 10/10 would recommend.
Food was excellent. Very expensive lunch though. But worth it!
Prato is a favorite place and our "go-to" place in the Winter Park area. We love the fresh, delicious food, great selection of wines, excellent cocktails and excellent service. This time I took a friend to a birthday lunch and they treated her to a gelato with a candle. Thank you for that special touch. She just moved into the area, and I'm sure we'll be back there with our husbands!
Good food in a fun environment. My wife and I celebrating our birthdays with some friends. Happy with our choice of restaurant for this evening together.
Prato is our family’s favorite restaurant. We came here most recently after my four-year-old had a tough day at school (I know, I know, but it happens). Theresa is almost always our server, and she was so wonderful, as usual. She brought my son a cucumber flower to eat while we waited for our order to arrive, and her kindness just helped make the whole day better. The egg rigatoni with fatta su bolognese is delicious as always, but it was so much more than just a meal: our time at Prato was a balm for some really stressed out people, and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thank you!
I have been many times to Prato but this last time has got to be the best yet. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful from start to finish. Offering food and wine suggestions all with an up beat warm and friendly attitude and although the night was busy, he made sure that did not affect the quality of service provided.
The food at Prato is always delicious. We started with the cheese and meat app that was perfect for sharing for for ladies. We then moved onto the always fantastic Diavolo flatbread (Pepperoni, Pancetta, Italian Long Pepper, Auricchio Piccante), Polenta Cake (Brussels, Sunchoke Fritto, Chili Honey), Campagna (Arugula, Radicchio, Pancetta Tesa, Rosemary Almond) and their famous meatballs. All while sipping on a great glass of cab.
We ended the evening with an espresso and a very yummY TIRAMISU, sharing of course!
Lovely fresh made pasta. Staff is very knowledgeable about every ingredient. Wonderful atmosphere.
Prato is my all around favorite restaurant in WP!
