Prato - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
Had an amazing dinner date with my girlfriend! Nico our server was amazing and recommended a great bottle of wine for us along with some delicious food suggestions. Everyone clearly loves this place as it was pretty busy, I would definitely come back as well.
Prato was, once again, a fabulous dining experience. Everything was top notch, from the cocktails, to the service. Waters were never left empty. Food was perfect, delicious, and creative. The ambiance never disappoints. I will certainly be dining here again and again.
The food was outstanding. Very creative and well prepared and fresh tasting. The seating on the wooden slatted chairs was uncomfortable. The attitude of the hostess when we asked to be seated at a booth was not customer friendly. It was early; the restaurant had 2 other couples besides us; and yet there was no availability for booth seating as they were for bigger parties.
Waiter was absolutely the worst. Took 20 minutes before he even acknowledged that we had been sat, and he only got worse from there. Never took a drink order, wanted us to order our whole meal (appetizers and entrees) as soon as he did acknowledge us. As soon as we finished our meals he brought the bill, without even asking if we'd like to look at the dessert menu. Will be calling management tomorrow.
Enjoyed our overall experience. Food very good. Our server Victoria was attentive. Although we had a reservation we were offered a choice of a high top or a half bench table. I would have preferred a regular table given that we had the reservation. The half bench table in the back is a bit uncomfortable because only half the diners can watch the open kitchen, the others have their backs to it and face a wall. There is also a difference in height between the bench and the chair on the opposite side - odd.
The food and service were amazing, as usual. We tried several new menu items, including the citrus cured cobia, red pepper gnudi, and the three cheese ravioli. Although I will always have a spot in my heart for the shrimp ravioli that is not longer on the menu, this new version won me over in one bite. They practically melt in your mouth! The only negative of the evening was sitting at the back banquette. I much prefer the light and people watching up front.
We've eaten at Prato one other time. The staff is amazing and so is the service. Grey was our server. I highly recommend him. The pastas are the highlight, but Grey recommended a white pizza with two added toppings and it was delicious. It's always a nice place when you're craving a bowl of pasta on a date night.
Food was good but nothing extraordinary. Drinks were very good but a little slow to come out. Table side service was excellent. Grey, our server, did a great job. I would say that the drinks are a bit overpriced still but the atmosphere and feel was wonderful. I would definitely recommend it.
Hostess' were not welcoming, had a reservation for a special occasion, my fiancees birthday and not once was it recognized, bar takes up the entire restaurant, server was absent and would look around and not at us when describing the menu, asked for a not spicy version of the Diavolo pizza but still got the spicy one, guy who brought out meatball appetizer made a crude comment about balls towards us (lesbian couple). If the level of service would match the level and quality of the food, this place could be outstanding.
My wife and I have dined for lunch many times at Prato but this was our first time for dinner and we wish we had come sooner! Victoria was an outstanding server and was particularly helpful to my wife on the selection of our bottle of wine. On that matter, I know Prato is an Italian restaurant but a few popular California wine selections would be appreciated. I had a vodka gimlet made with fresh lime juice than can be "iffy" but this one was perfect. I started with the tomato-fennel soup that was excellent. My wife chose the veal piccata and I had the flat iron steak. Both selections were outstanding and my steak was among the best I have ever tasted. Prato will be added to our "rotation" for dinner out!
Food was okay, nothing spectacular. There's definitely far better choices in town. Definitely no need for the waiter to spend 15 minutes going over nearly every item on the menu; overkill and actually quite annoying. Had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for our table. Oh well, some you win and some you lose. This one was a definite loser for me and my guests.
My boyfriend and I happened upon this little gem during our visit to Orlando. Staff was on point with knowing their menu. We split the Cesar salad, meatball appetizer, pepperoni pizza, and half size signature pasta dish. All was delish! (We brought home half the pizza) Love that they use local, fresh ingredients and update their menu daily. You can tell the difference in taste. Would absolutely go back. Thanks for the great experience.
