Prato - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
Food was good, but the quality has gone down since they opened. Their dishes used to feel more inspired and unique, but now they seem more ordinary and mass appealing. The red snapper cheek was delicious and I love their Caeser salad, but everything else was just 'ok.'. Our server seemed disinterested in our table which was weird because it was at least a $200 ticket, so that also effected our experience.
Magical menu though limited did not disappoint and each course added to the magic. Cocktails were innovative and extensive wine list guaranteed a good match with the entrees BUT our server Steven was absolute OUTSTANDING
Knowledgeable about each dish, very affable and attentive
Very disappointed. Magical Dining menu with duck, although tasty, was very small portion and other portion of meal too spicy to eat. Best thing was the meat balls. People sitting beside us said the same thing about their meal and that the pizza on theirs was the best thing.
The food was awful! Starting with the Pasta, which came to our table within 2 min after we ordered it. Clearly it was not made to order. The pasta was so soft and mushed, very over cooked. Such a shame for a restaurant that claims to be Italian and hand maketheir pasta.
Maybe worse was how the server handled the situation. She acted like it was not a big deal, removed the pasta a said the pizza would be coming soon. Offered no solution for the pasta and didn't even send a manager to the table. Later the manager came to the table and offered a different pasta and defended that the pasta was cooked to order. Then eventually said maybe we received someone else's pasta who could have been in front of us. He also said that their pastas typically take 3-4 minutes to prepare. Also ridiculous for a restaurant that claims to be Authentic Italian and made to order. Maybe the worst is he never offered to remake the dish fresh and al dente. Maybe this is because everything is pre-made.
Then the pizza came and it was extremely salty and soggy. When the server came and asked how it was we told her and then said we are done and would leave. Instead of getting the manager and trying to save us ... she said, ok, hope you might gets better and watches us leave.
Even though I had been to this restaurant a few times before with a better experience, don't waste your time and money at this place as it has gone severely downhill.
Nico was a professional and friendly in serving us and providing detailed information about the food items.
The food was outstanding.
The noise level was deafening...do not go here if you are trying to have an ongoing conversation with more than one other person. You both will be hoarse from the yelling.
We will try eating outside to see if the noise level is better...but tables outside are right beside the street noise...
What a fantastic meal. What lovely service from Jennifer, who was both charming and efficient. The beef crudo is a must-order; hazelnuts lend a delightful crunch to the restaurant’s take on steak tartare. The mustard spaghetti is a rich and satisfying carbonara, and the black pepper pappardelle with pork sugo is Italy in a bowl. If the duck confit is on the menu when you go, order some for everyone at your table, and an extra to take home to nibble the next day: the crisp duck skin and tender meat is a dream come true.
Had a great meal, the food was beyond fantastic and the waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The only issue was that it was my birthday and the waitress indicated that dessert was “on her.” So we assumed that meant my dessert was free for my birthday. However, my dessert was on our bill. We paid the bill and did not ask the waitress about the charge because it felt like it was an awkward situation. This may have just been a complete oversight, but I would suggest if something similar happens to you that you clarify before you place your order. However, we will be back again because it is an amazing restaurant.
Over complicated, overpriced mediocre restaurant. Food is not really good at all, doesn't taste like Italian whatsoever. Service is ok. Saw waiter drop someone's to go box on a floor and then putting it in bag and giving to the customer....Really? That's just sad.
Duck confit that I ordered was ok. The sauce horribly overpowered the whole dish. The side was not tasty at all and overall didn't make any sense taste wise. Our waiter admitted for having not fresh desert and said he'd get us fresh one from the kitchen but that never happened.
We've been here several times and every time it gets worse and worse. I think we're done coming here. There are far much better Italian restaurants around.
Magical Dining evening with friends; meatballs, ravioli, and the duck were excellent choices. Service was prompt but not intrusive; not rushed to vacate table after completion of meal, which was nice on a busy, Friday evening. Would recommend ordering off the regular dining menu also - delicious choices! Thanks PRATO for a fun time with friends over savory food!
Had the Orlando magical dining menu. Everything was very good we had the meatballs (fav from prior), prosciutto salad, each had the ravioli and had the tiramisu ice cream for dessert. The dessert was like coffee ice cream, but much better. The ravioli was very good. We both agreed that it was close, but we still preferred the shrimp ravioli they used to have (no longer on menu). Our fav pasta is the mustard speghatini
Mu husband and I enjoy Prato very much, but the drink prices are a little high and they never offered happy hour specials. To our delight, we noticed that Prato recently introduced a Happy Hour menu! They now offer drink specials Mon-Fri until 6pm, along with special HH prices on salads & pizzas. This is a fantastic deal if you're an early bird.
Food is always spectacular, and service matches their excellence in quality. Definitely a spot for date night, special occasions, or a fun gathering.
Had an amazing dinner date with my girlfriend! Nico our server was amazing and recommended a great bottle of wine for us along with some delicious food suggestions. Everyone clearly loves this place as it was pretty busy, I would definitely come back as well.
