Prato - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
PRATO impressed once again. I had initially made my reservation on Open Table - I needed seating for seven (four adults, three teenagers) - I wanted to secure two tables - but OT only allows for one. I called PRATO and asked for them to change my reservation from one table to two and they were very accomodating. We were able to get seating for seven.
When we arrived for our 6:30pm, the table wasn't yet ready - they told us it would be about 15 minutes, so we walked around downtown Winter Park until that time. No problem at all.
Our server was delightful - the drinks were prompt - the appetizers were as well. There was a little wait for our dinner, but that gave us time to chat and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Overall an absolutely delightful experience - we felt well cared for - the server was attentive but not pushy - the food was PHENOMENAL - and the wine was good with very little upcharge.
Hopping and fun spot. Food was great, as were the cocktails. Saw friends and everyone was in good spirits. Our server was very attentive, and we were greeted with a smile. Look forward to going back!
We had pasta dishes: the mustard spaghetti and duck Bolognese were both delicious. Salads were generous and very tasty.
Wow, I can't say enough about the great food and the entire experience! The chef did a wonderful job with our salmon and widow maker pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection and was so well made. We will definitely be back for dinner and we just found out they have lunch also!
Not your typical Italian restaurant. Prato offers wood-fired pizza, which alone would be a treat, but it also has some of the most unusual pasta dishes I have ever seen. I had the short rib pansotti served on a spring pea fonduta, a perfectly blended celebration of tastes. My date ordered the poppyseed pappardelle with pork ragout. Outstanding. Most pasta dishes come in a half and full portion allowing you to indulge without over-indulging. There are many good restaurants in Winter Park, but when it came to lunch the next day, we went back to Prato. Don't miss it!
Excellent service and superb food. We were really impressed that they had amorone by the glass AND a machiato shot (comparable to an espresso shot). I had made reservations through Open Table and was seated immediately. Our server Taylor was outstanding... !!! Great experience for out of town guests to taste a different part of Orlando. I can't wait to go back! :)
Pratos is our go-to place, and one of the first names on our minds when we feel like going out. The food is fresh, clean and delicious. Service is very friendly, accomodating despite the place always being full. Whether its lunch, dinner or a late night coffee & dessert, Prato is always full of peopl, but service still has a personal feel to it.
They need to fix the timing of thier pizza and regular kitchen, twice our food has been unevenly served, but otherwise, we love it.
Making a reservation in advance (even w/o special instructions) was worth it! The server was polite, efficient, and nonintrusive-- very pleasant. The ambience was nice and warm inside. For appetizers, I tried meatballs, calamari, and the campagna salad w/ arugula. I also treid funghi pizza and 2 types of pastas: mustard spaghetti and farro pappardelle. Everything was tasty, no doubt, but also quite salty. I guess/learned Italian food tends to lean towards the salty side??? Prato also has a very good selection of red wines!
First time I was ever at a restaurant where upon checking in the hostess warned you your table was reserved for the next party at 8:00.(Our reservations were at 6:30) Needless to say from the moment we sat down we were nudged to order and finish our dinner on their time not ours. I guess to their relief we were done by 7:50. Too many other restaurants in the area that won't do that to customers. Definitely will not go back again.
I love Pratos and really don't need an excuse to go but love to introduce new people to the restaurant. Have new friends who moved to the area and had them meet me at Pratos for a great Sunday lunch. Food is always great and different form the run of the mill. They accommodate their guests. Never a disappointment choosing to eat there.
I came here with my boyfriend for Valentine's day. Neither of us had been here before but we had heard good things. We got there early and were seated right away. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. The food came out right away, one dish after another and it was AMAZING. Best experience we have had in a while. Will be a frequent customer.
Depending on the pasta selection we will opt for the meatballs and pizza. They bring out the pizza as soon as it's done and we wait on the meatballs and then cut them up and put on the pizza...awesome. They seem determined not to bring back my salted carmel gelato, why I'll never know. The service is 10 times better than when they opened, which is a huge plus. Eat there weekly.
Nice place. Food was very good, not great. Pricey. Wine recommendations by staff were excellent. Appetizers: Mussels delicious. Meatballs good but absurdly overpriced. Roasted Brussels Sprouts excellent. Ravioli not bad. Brassato or roasted beef rib was tasty, but dry and again, expensive for what it was. Excellent, knowledgeable server. Attractive decor but WHY TVS all over the place? Spoils the "rustic" Tuscan look. I'd go again and stick to the appetizers and wine.
We ate here on a Tuesday evening with friends. What a great place for both food and ambiance.
The menu items are interesting and the food terrific. Our waitress, Jennifer was outstanding in explaining and recommending food for dinner. I will be back to Prato to try many of the other menu items. If you are in Winter Park you need to make a reservation for Pratos. You won't be sorry.
This was our first to Prato, it was a long over due date night and turned our wonderfully! The farm to table menu is fantastic, I enjoyed seeing the local farms I was familiar with on my menu. It was great knowing I was supporting a local restaurant all the way around.
The prices are high but it matches the quality and uniqueness of the food. We will be back on another special occasion.
This is my fifth time dining here and it is special every time. The server was attentive and personable. Had great wine, amazing appetizers of their meatballs and arancini. Also tried the heirloom tomato soup, best tomato soup ever. We shared small portions of two pasta dishes. The cavatelli with braised short ribs and artichoke ravioli. Amazing. So delicate and yet so filling. Ended with a small shared portion of their blood orange sorbet. Magnificent and understated.
Prato has become our favorite on Park Avenue in Winter Park. The menu changes with the the seasonal availability of various items. The restaurant has a vibrant feel with a great bar that runs through the middle. It's not a quiet place so not a romantic setting. The tables outside lend themselves to a more intimate setting with people watching becaue you're sitting along the sidewalk. The chef does an amazing job in blending unique flavors for an enjoyable dining experience.
I booked a reservation for 7 as part as a girl's weekend away. We were a rather large group for this space, but they accommodated us without any hesitation and everything from service to food to general experience was outstanding. I cannot recommend this place enough. I'm still craving the pasta dinner I had and hope to make it back there soon.
My friends and I planned our evening by taking the Sunrail train from Lake Mary, FL. We made our reservation at Prato based on a recommendation from my son, who lives and works in Winter Park. The menu is a little difficult to understand but the staff was so helpful. Our food was delicious and prepared fresh!
They assisted us in pairing a wine with our choices. The Trout was outstanding and Tarimisu was the best I've ever had!
I will be returning to this restaurant. The train staion is across the street so after browsing Park Avenue, we returned to Lake Mary. We didn't have to search for parking or deal with traffic. Great evening!
Prato has a great atmosphere, very knowledgeable staff, and a pretty decent wine list. The pizzas are top! I wasn't as impressed with the portion sizes of some of the other foods, but the pizza and wine more than made up for everything else. And despite some of the sizes, everything tasted amazing! It's great for intimate gatherings or for something casual as well, which I like. You also get the option to eat outdoors when the weather and temperature permit. A great find. I will definitely be going back.
The ambiance is the best. Love the bar and the whole feel. Our salads were bland and the lobster arancini left a strong fishy smell at the table and was not good at all.
Our last experience here was great. Must have been an off day. The drinks and service are top notch though.
We really enjoy Prato! Only downfall for us is the "pushing of the salt." We certainly enjoy salt though try to keep a healthy perspective. with usage, and foremost, appreciate the fresh whole foods flavor. We do ask for the salt topping to be held with each visit. Too quick to remove a cocktail before checking with guest or member in guest party. Thank you for replacing.
We'll return - a favorite place to dine!
Since opening Prato is quickly becoming the best restaurant on Park Avenue. From their locally sourced ingredients to their long list of imported wines they provide the very best in not only food but atmosphere and service. Try one of their "Fresh Made Daily" pastas and you can't go wrong.
Food was good. Waiter was friendly, but gave it a poor service eating because the entree service was not at same time. Pasta dish was ordered as main entree with two other non-pasta main entree. Pasta came out first and when asked where are other two entrees was told they come from a different part of the kitchen and it would be 10 minutes. What nonsense. That is not good service particularly on Christmas Eve. And, no one seemed very concerned or than perfunctory apology.
