Prasino - La Grange Ratings and Reviews
Love the unique menu options. I've tried their breakfast (smoked salmon bagel), lunch (short rib tacos) and dinner (butternut squash ravioli), and all the food is equally delicious. Atmosphere and staff is a little lacking in hospitality, but overall great place to meet with friends for cocktails, good food and conversation.
This is the first time we've been to Prasino and had a less-than-stellar experience. It's been awhile since we've had a date night, and they took one of our favorite items off their menu during that time, which was a disappointment. As a result, neither my husband nor I loved the meals we ordered this time around. The drinks were great, the dessert was superb, and the service was good, but the entrees left a lot to be desired. I hate giving this place a bad review since it's been one of my favorite restaurants. Because of that, we will give it another chance in the hopes we were just there on an off night. But if the food isn't back to it's outstanding level the next time, we will find a new restaurant for our special dinners.
The food was very very good. The menu is quite varied from Italian to Greek to burgers. The mussels were amazing! The atmosphere does not reflect the quality of the food; it almost has a diner feel but with excellent food. Our server was very nice but we think they were under staffed the night we had dinner there. We will return but probably for lunch.
Sadly, our experience was not good. We had a reservation, and were seated right away in the back of the restaurant. It was not busy as it was 6:00pm. Our waiter was hard to understand, and not efficient. We had no drinks for about 15 minutes. He told us soup or salad came with our entrees, but didn't ask what we wanted when he took our order. We had to flag him down to inquire. We gave him our choices. Our food came, and he never stopped to see how it was, did we want more to drink, etc. I had hot tea and had to literally stop him to ask for more hot water, which I received 20 minutes later. He did not ask if we wanted desert. The check was incorrect- he charged us for the soup and salad! He did correct it when brought to his attention. Over all it was not a great experience. I won't be returning.
I booked the restaurant because I saw there were vegan and vegetarian options. One of our party is a vegetarian. She liked that there were several options outside the usual suspects! We all had something different, omelet, breakfast taco, frittata and French toast. Everyone enjoyed our meals. Husband said the French toast was the best he's ever had.
Bad service, fruit flies, mopping the floors and cleaning the restrooms with heavy disinfectant smell while people are dining-- makes for unpleasant experience. Bummer as I've eaten here before and had great experience. Won't be back. A truck stop would have been better. Food was good but not enjoyable given the service and atmosphere. Place was pretty empty which is unusual. Maybe going downhill...
I went out there for an anniversary breakfast. Very welcoming, hostess was very nice, waitress is very nice, the food options makes you want to come back to try something new and delicious. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was excellent. I can't wait to come back! And if you are vegan, they have great options for that too!
I'm whole food plant based and currently on a sugar free diet. It's so incredibly hard to find a restaurant that I can go to. I went there for breakfast and was able to eat the quinoa bowl. They even had ezekiel bread! That's the only bread I can have and it was wonderful to be able to look at the menu and have a variety of things to choose. I'm so grateful I have this restaurant in my neighborhood.
I found Prasino's ambiance perfect for getting together with a friend I hadn't seen in ages and catching up. My Ahi Poke appetizer (ahi tune, shrimp, avocado, cilantro, mango, sesame seeds, macadamia nuts, sweet and spicy sauce) was delicious, and the Grilled Salmon on top of squash and zucchini noodles, with tomato, spinach, roasted red pepper and chipotle was excellent! Unfortunately, my friend said her spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was tasteless and sent 95% back. Her main dish, Thai Yellow Curry was just OK.
I would still come back and try other dishes.
We haven’t been in a while. Tried a couple new items on the new menu....sadly, it wasn’t great. The gnocchi was hard and lacking flavor. The curry was just fried rice. The black bean burger is still good. We’re hoping their breakfast didn’t change. We’ll try again fir breakfast.
