Food was excellent! Server was friendly but somewhat inexperienced. Came to our table with water but didn’t ask us if we wanted a drink. When we ordered dessert, he never asked us if we wanted coffee. Ambiance and quality of meal made up for his inexperience though. Only other issue was how dark it was in the parking lot. I was surprised there was no valet service.

Have not been there in awhile. Will not go back any time soon. Very average for the price. Waiter was not very knowledgeable probably because he had only been there a month. Food disappointing. Plenty of better options in Abq.

Beautiful setting, great food, fabulous service. It was a very dark night and we missed the turn. The lighting/signage could be better, but everything else was perfect.

Have had a couple bad experiences in past years, but this dinner was probably the best one we can remember for a long time. In addition, the portions have increased which is wonderful. So tired of getting just the middle of the plate filled. Our entire plates were covered in delicious epicurean delights.

Food left a lot to be desired. Service was fantastic! I had the sirloin, and while it was plated beautifully, it was without taste. Dessert was the best part. Disappointed.

Prairie Star has terrific food and nice wine selection. There are plenty of choices for a gluten-free practitioner. Outdoor seating and live music, weather permitting. Fun, with a nice ambience.

They were out of the 2 dishes my husband wanted but the food we had was quite good and the waiter tried really hard to recover from the lack of entrees.

The food was incredible and our server, Val and everyone on the waitstaff did everything that they could to make our 47TH Wedding Anniversary a very special occasion! This is a very special place, to be sure!

Food was creative and delicious. We had a special that included escargot - it was a bit rubbery. Honestly, I haven't had great escargot anywhere in New Mexico, so I can forgive this. The service was top-notch and the ambiance & wine were fabulous. Overall, a win!

I’ve had a lot better food at this restaurant in the past. Did a new chef take over recently or did the waitress just mess up?
The crackers ( which I usually love) were stale, the fish was cooked incorrectly (not that the waitress asked how I wanted it cooked) and the vegetables dripped with grease. Yuck! One of the pluses is the wonderful view- but what I focused on was the dirty windows. Another yuck.

The food was generally very good although my wife’s salad was wilted and overdressed. The service was incredibly poor. We waited to order drinks and then waited a long time for the drinks to come and when they did come, one martini was undrinkable. We kept having to flag down our waiter, Zackary, who rarely came back to the table. Tara came by and took our drink order finally, when we couldn’t get Zackery’s attention. When he finally took our food order we waited 40 minutes for the food to come out and when it did one of the entrées was cold. We had brought friends from out of town and were very embarrassed by the poor service. We did get credit for the cold entree but our guest gave up and did not reorder.

We've enjoyed Prairie Star several times. Looks like we hit the restaurant on an off day. While our 2 guests enjoyed their meal very much my Prime Rib - which was the special that evening -was not up to PS's usual standards. On this occasion it was more about our visitors from out of town rather than my Prime Rib. We all have an off day. So I'll mark it up as just that and we'll visit again.

We used to go here 15 years ago. We miss the old items. Disappointed that the waiter didn’t know the specials or the cheeses in my small cheese plate. I expected better service from an upscale restaurant.

We were a party of 16 and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating, flexible and attentive. Most of us had the Wednesday's Wine and Dine which was both delicious and a great value plus the drinks in the bar were excellent. A fine choice in Albuquerque especially if playing one of the nearby golf courses.

Would recommend more food for the price, maybe a dinner salad or inexpensive appetizer included. I had the chicken with rice and peas. Received 2 peas, that were cut up. Dinner tasted good but that's not much food.

We really enjoyed the Wednesday Night Two Can Dine + Wine for $60. You are able to upgrade the wine (which we did + $10 for a great bottle of Rodney Strong Cab). My husband & I both enjoyed our starters (fried oyster salad and green chili chicken soup which was done up as a bisque and was outstanding). The entrees were equally terrific ~ New York Steak, done exactly as ordered - Chicago Blue Rare & I had the Hawaiian Ono ~ sushi grade cooked very rare, along with sauted kale & a great risotto. Topped of with a great chocolate desert ~ and the service was very good also.

You can't beat $60 for salad or soup, entree, shared dessert and a bottle of wine! We had the same meal of smashed potatoes, sirloin strip steak and onion rings and it was excellent. They know how to make a great sauce to go with each meal and this one was no exception! Look forward to dining there again. It was nice having the manager come to our table and welcome us too! We felt very welcomed and attended to throughout the evening.

The dinner offerings are imaginative and delicious. Zachary, our waiter, did a great job of making us feel welcome and guiding us through the menu. This restaurant is a hidden gem and is worth the drive from anywhere in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. We always eat at Prairie Star when in the area.

This was our go to place for celebrations for over 10-years; however, this last experience has us looking for a new place. The service and food has takin' a dramatic turn for the worse. Wrong drink orders and food that was sitting under the warming lights a little too long, and I was forced into paying a 20% tip since we were a party of 6. Plus we paid for the drink mistakes on the bill - I didn't notice until I checked the receipt at home. Very disappointed!

Prairie Star Restaurant was chosen for a family members birthday - 88th! The patio offers a great view. The food was OK. Our server was OK. The wine was GREAT! For the price and the occasion, I would have liked to have been Wowed.
We were a party of five - three had the Nimon steak, one had salmon and one had chicken.

The service and the food were outstanding . The hostess set us on the bench next to the fireplace (table 4 ?). It has no back on it and the seat is hard and slopes forward . Most uncomfortable seat in the restaurant and there were plenty of empty tables with real chairs . They used to have a porter beer on tap which was outstanding . For some reason they got rid of that so I reason for picking that restaurant is no longer valid . I do not have any plans to go back even though the food and the service were so good . We booked this reservation a month in advance in hopes of getting a window seat but that did not work out either .

Went on a date with my wife, there is a "wine and dine" dinner for two on Wednesday nights. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 1 bottle of wine, 60 bucks. Worth every penny. Great service from Zachary, good was also very good. We will go back again and soon.

Beautiful view of the Sandias. Food was outstanding but the ambience of the restaurant itself was just okay. The Veal T-bone was perfectly cooked to order and the black garlic salmon entree was a generous portion and the best my friend had in ages. Give it a try if you are in the ABQ area. You will enjoy it
