Prairie River Restaurant - Eaglewood Resort & Spa
it is a complete rip off to crhage more than $3 for a soda
Great food, service, outdoor seating, live music!!! If the weather cooperates, this is the venue to visit and when the weather doesn't cooperate, service and live bands inside are great too !!! Highly recommend this spot!!
They are no longer on open table so I was very upset when I arrived and there was no reservation. Please take them off your site. Very disorganized place
My friend ordered a Jameson's and coffee. It arrived hot in a drink glass with no handle instead of a Irish coffee mug. Really?! You gotta be kidding! You couldn't even hold the glass without burning your hand. And, they don't recognize Open Table reservations.
Special occasion: Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones concert.
The waitress seemed a bit disorganized I think she may have had to many tables which caused her to b a little slow. but we will b back
Very comfortable, great food and excellent service. Low noise so we could all hear each other. Nice view of the golf course.
We arrived early to our reservations and they sat us down right away. It was still happy hour so we took advantage of the great deals and they were delicious. It is super family friendly and we will be coming back.
I was under the impression from the conversation during my booking that it was a nice restaurant. I took my husband there for his birthday. That restaurant was more like a bar or a pub. Very poor menu selection. I took my husband to Morton’s steak house the next night for a real dinner.
We came for Friday fish fry. Was absolutely delicious! However, it is no longer all you can eat! That is the whole reason why we come here! The waiter did not warn us of that prior to us ordering. I even mentioned that I wanted to save room for the fish. He said nothing. We are regulars there, not hotel guests and I have a full membership there.
Empty besides the bar. Quiet, with a fantastic view. Good, "home made", Italian wedding soup. Nice variety of local craft brew beers
The band was simply horrible. could not sing at all. They sat us by a door and ppl was going in and out with their kids to roast marshmallows and it was COLD so every time the door open we would freeze. Just not a good experience at all.
Service was slow, although the place was busy, however staffing should accomodate that. Also, the chairs we were seated in were very uncomfortable. We noticed that there were others that appeared to be more comfortable. We wished all the chairs were the same comfort level, preferably more than less.
All in all, the prices were good for what we ordered. I would eat there again if I was staying at the Resort.
Food was decent, but incredibly over priced. The drinks were crazy overpriced as well.
The restaurant was so understaffed that we stood alone at the hostess desk for 5 minutes or more before my husband went to the bar to try to get seated. A waitress took us outside to a table since the live music on Saturday night is obscenely loud. You might as well be in a rave. We waited longer to see a waitress again (never showed up) and left because of the lack of service, loudness even outside and being offered the bar menu only.
They did not accept our "open table" reservation! So NO table was ready for us. Disappointing.
The food and service was great. We were guest at the resort and didn’t want to leave out for dinner and I’m glad we decided to stay and try Prairie River. Although the restaurant is not super fancy and the fire pit was not working the night we were there the food and service supplemented for that.
Fine for lunch. Menu pretty basic for lunch but servings were robust, food was served hot, pleasing presentation. Very nice staff. Enjoyed and dined there twice.
Good food and service. Restaurant relatively quiet. Golf course view is nice.
It was Friday night fish fry... it got really busy... so I was glad I made a reservation. It got noisy and packed. It made it a little difficult for the staff to keep up. But overall... great for all you can eat fish fry!
Food was great; music a little loud, and, although the restaurant was virtually empty, it took a while to get our bottle of wine. All in all a good experience.
Went to Prairie River Grill for a quick lunch. The place is very nice inside; modern, clean and sophisticated. Service was perfect. We both had the Grilled Maple Salmon salad, which was delicious. The asparagus was super-fresh, and the salmon was perfectly done with a slight char. Both my friend and I loved it, and ate every bite. I'll go back, for sure, and try the Maple Manhattan next time.
Poor food choices, breakfast is overcharged for the options available. Continental breakfast at hotel on a highway is the best name for it. We did not look forward to eat there again during our 3 nights stay..... Nice staff. View of golf course may be more enjoyable during other seasons.
I thought for the prices charged, food would be better. appetizers were good. steaks not so good.
I expected a slightly nicer outdoor seating space with umbrellas to protect against the setting sun, but the weather was nice and a view of the golfing greens was pleasant. Downside is they allow smoking in the outdoor seating area and we were sandwiched between two large groups which made it a little difficult to talk between friends. The waitress was super sweet and the food was delicious (salmon salad and a chicken Greek salad). The Granny Smith apple crisp dessert was just right to end the meal.
The chili yard chicken was excellent, not dry. This is a good spot to watch golfers and planes landing at O'hare.
Very nice, my soup was very good and the halibut was good too. Service with Deny was good.
Hostess was insistent that they WEREN'T on OpenTable, no reservation, and had no way to check us in. 😳
Kitchen seemed a little confused between what they had on the menu and what ingredients they were using to actually produce the food that came out. A nice location, but clearly used to just having a captive audience from the hotel. Too bad. Definitely a missed opportunity. Not a destination restaurant.
We ended up in the restaurant upstairs. The restaurant was still closed for renovations I guess.
Not good food all. Had to send back steak as I ordered it medium rare and it came well done.
Fun outdoor seating with a band great salad and sandwiches. Nice and friendly service.
6:30 pm empty with waitstaff of 2. Then group of 24
, from a meeting showed up & service declined. I'd like to go in warm weather and sit outside
We dined here two nights while staying at the Eaglewood Resort for a relaxing spa weekend. The first night we went fancy and had filet mignon that was so tender and flavorful, the augratin potatoes were just as great and they had a nice list of bottled wines to choose from. The next night we sat at the bar and ordered nachos and pizza. We have to say the nachos were the best we've ever had because of the chips - I asked what kind they were - they're house made! Pizza was delicious. From fine dining to casual, they have the best! Oh and the specialty cocktails were great too!
A group of friends from work went here for lunch. We sat outside overlooking the golf course. It was a beautiful area outside. We all enjoyed our meals and the server Kasper was great. We would definitely go back.
Food had no flavor. Fish and Beef ribs were very bland.
We tried it one more time few years back. Same problem all over. They forgot both mine and our friend's salad. Our food was very late. I'd say we probably waited close to an hour. No drinks for a while. Then the food came and it was cold. My husband eventually complained at the bar. Then the manager came and they tried to make it up. They cut the bill in half and we got free dessert we didnt ask for. Give them credit for that. I still wouldn't go back. This was like deja vu. Not worth ruining the night.
