Powerhouse Seafood & Grill is a steak and seafood restaurant located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As the name suggests, Powerhouse serves up large, hearty portions, admidst spot-on modern American diner decor. High brick walls decorated with unusual signs and decorations lead up to a high metal ceiling with exposed ductwork. The atmosphere here is definitely casual and fun.
On the menu, Powerhouse has a lot more going for it then just the classic surf n' turf. For example, the signature appetizer on the menu is the crab rolls, which are rolled crab meat and cream cheese fried and served with a raspberry sauce for dipping. Or, adventurous eaters are welcome to try the alligator platter, which is battered, fried and served with house fries.
Made reservation for Valentine's Day, they did not bother to tell me we could only have brunch at the time we reserved!! That would have been nice to know. The brunch menu is very small!! The food was not very good and the price was really high!! Very disappointed!! Our server seemed to not know what he was even doing.
The food was wonderful, the attentiveness of staff left much to be desired, it took over 30 minutes to get water, let alone our wine and beer. We could hardly hear each other speak, though the noise level wasn't a major concern of ours, it was quite distracting. Overall, a decent experience, subpar for what we've become accustomed to dining at powerhouse, but nonetheless, we will return!
Always a pleasure to come down from Missouri to dine, perfect dinner date before the show at Walton Arts Center.
Service was great! The fish was overcooked and the cornbread muffins were dry. We wont be back.
Powerhouse is a great place for special occasions! We always make a note to come here before taking a show at Walton Arts, love the people and the food!
The food was good but the pacing was erratic. Our waiter seemed to be very good. Bar service was very slow and one beer was sent back because it was very stale. It was cheerfully replaced. It took a long time to get the starters and the entrees arrived two minutes after the starters. Two diners ate a spoonful of lobster bisque then a bite of entree. Awkward!
We had two dinners ordered exactly the same... Steak medium and steamed veggies. But when we got the food my steak was over well to the point that I didn't even eat but a few bites. I was with a few business associates and a vendor who was picking up the bill so I didn't feel right complaining.
However, the other steak was PERFECT & we lover the spinach dip and fried mushrooms!!! I guess this was a one time issue because it has never happened before.
When we arrived we were told our table was being cleaned and would be just a few more minutes. In reality, they had overlooked our reservation, which we later found out when they came to the table and asked for our name and reservation for a third time. Food was not very good. I ordered the tilapia (fish of the day) - it came out fried, not blackened as advertised. No offer to remake. My husband ordered a burger, but got chicken. The waiter offered to take it back, but told him it would probably take a while and didn't know of he'd want to wait. Also forgot my salad and had to get it taken off the ticket. Probably won't be going back after this experience, which is a disappointment, because this was one of my favorite restaurants when we were here a couple years ago.
Our server was quite good, attentive and personable, but while some of the food was good (crab cakes and the grilled oyster app) most was overcooked and inedible (fish like jerky, clams like hard rubber), and the price for 5 diners was over $130.00. Had the food been good that would not have been too unreasonable, but for the quality we received, that price was much too much. Because we had an event to attend immediately afterward we could not return the overcooked food, or we certainly would have done so. I suspect the restaurant would have made it right, but there was no opportunity to find out.
great place for couples or family..
enjoyed it very much ...waitress was great
I love the place. Food is Always great, the Kilowatt is to die for and the onion rings are as addictive as crack. The only drawback is that every time I use the Open Table App I get a table in the rear dining room and bar area. That section is nice, but not the same atmosphere as the front dinning section.
The table hostess did not walk us to the table just pointed it out and therefore did not know that the table next to us had taken a chair to put their coats/purses on....therefore not leaving our group enough chairs! We waited over 10 minutes before someone returned to bring us a chair (and the table that used our chair didn't volunteer to get the chair back either!). After we ordered the server returned to tell 3 of us that they were out of what we ordered and would we choose another item to replace it. Service was slow although there were few customers in the restaurant. We had a reservation but waited 15 minutes for a table although very few people were in the restaurant. The server was polite but generally it would not be a place I would return to soon.
Cool place to dine. However, my son and I agreed our steaks left a bit to be desired. Flavor just ok and tough texture. If you come there for anything come for the crab rolls. Other than for that I will not be back.
Overall a good place with good service. One dish had a chunk of sharp plastic in it. The dish was taken off our bill.
My seafood platter was outstanding...but my wife's etouffee was bad , according to her. So,I had to downgrade somewhat.
This is my second visit the the Powerhouse restaurant and was not disappointed. The seafood is always good. The corn muffins are great. Full service bar. My family enjoyed their dinner. This will be my go to restaurant when in Fayetteville.
Powerhouse was great! The atmosphere is unique. Open, yet cozy, with interesting things on walls and hanging from ceiling. The food was really good! Fried gator was yummy. The crab cakes were good, and the sauce for the crabcake was the best! Grilled shrimp and grilled veggie skewer was perfect!
The prices weren't bad for seafood. More than I like to pay for a normal dinner out, but for a special occasion it was fine.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I definitely reccomend Powerhouse!
We took our college daughter and friends out to a late night dinner here and we're pleased to find a large table with plenty of arm space. The service was quick and friendly. The French fries are so good! Enjoyed having the broad menu selection so everyone could find what they wanted. We will be back.
Our waitress was wonderful as always, my boyfriend and I have been obsessed with the food and atmosphere. Were in atleast once a month! Always a smiling face and a great list of drinks!!! Great place to share a meal, talk, and remember why we love NWA and eachother!
My server was about the only good thing about this restaurant. I had the king crab leg and it was literally just a leg. I asked my server, "is this a pound?" and she said yes, it's weight before it's cooked. I had been traveling all day and was hungry so I left it alone. I will not come back.
We had a going away lunch for a co-worker and had a group of 15! They were easily able to accommodate us. The online reservation system was great. The menu has a lot of choices so everyone was able to find something that worked for them. The server was very friendly and took care of us very well.
The food was great as always, the steaks were cooked perfectly.
Food was good but service was so-so. Drinks took a very long time to arrive, first round and subsequent rounds. Before I actually finished my steak, waitress started clearing the table and took the bread basket. Felt like I was being rushed away from the table. Last, I was really wanting a shrimp cocktail to start and was told the shrimp wasn't thawed yet. Took 5-7 minutes to be told that I needed to choose something else.
The food was really good. Our waiter was kind of dull... Didn't hardly speak to us. Food came out in a timely manner with no problems.
We had high expectations and were disappointed. Great appetizers, good steak, and poor salmon and grilled shrimp which should have been excellent since they were suppose to be specialties.
The service was great, but I will only go back here for their "famous" kilowatts. I've never been super impressed with the food, but this time me and my date's meals were WAY too salty and neither of us could finish them. I was retaining water the rest of the night.
I am very allergic to shellfish. I normally do not go to seafood restaurants but this was my daughters birthday dinner and she wanted crab legs. Our waiter and your chef made sure I had chicken cooked in its own separate pan and pasta dished with utensils free from shellfish. The food was delicious and I had absolutely no problem at all. Thank you so much! We will be back now that I know you are so allergy friendly and helpful.
The filets were cooked as ordered and were quite nice, but the crab cake appetizer was barely palatable.
For a "side" to the filet the streamed broccoli and carrots, whole quarter cup full, was tasty yet sparse.
Great meal and service!! From the escargot appetizer to the main entree of the Pontchartrain fish dish and the Orleans Feast it was all delicious!!
Powerhouse has always been one of our favorites when having a night out. The food is always great and the service is excellent! We will continue to visit for special occasions and for nights out with or without the kids.
My husband and I hadn't been to Powerhouse for several years but after this last visit it will not be long before we return. I have been looking for escargot at every restaurant in the area - and it is a standard appetizer at Powerhouse. It was delicious and prepared just the way I like it - even with toasted bread to sop up the garlic butter. I had crab legs and my husband had the Honey Ginger Salmon and it was "melt in your mouth" fabulous. We lived for many years in the Pacific Northwest so salmon is one of our favorite fish - and this was our first time to try it prepared this way. We will become regulars at the Powerhouse!
Our experience with Powerhouse has always been awesome. Recently took friends whom were elderly, and they enjoyed the meal and time out. Its always great to have a place to dine with family and friends of all ages.
There isn't many places left you can make an reservation and get a great meal at a great price.
Reservation was at 6:30. Seated immediately was good. Food horrible. Orleans entree crab cooked beyond recognition, fish was talapia which isn't really ever eaten in New Orleans, fish didn't have blackened flavor but tasted like pan it was cooked in, had literally two shrimp in sauce. Gumbo.....dunno what happened there but we had a cup of slimy okra soup I believe. Wine was Kendall Jackson which had already gone acidic but I drank anyway. Asked not to be seated next to kitchen and was seated by a giant barrel of red napkins which was worse because the hostess reached down beside me about a hundred times during my dinner and talked the entire time I sat there ....THAT was horribly off-putting. Bad food. Bad table. Bad wine. If you were me would you be happy? Would you return? I left a large tip because the waiter was knowledgeable and somewhat friendly. Not returning though. Going back to Wasabi tonight. Food is good there. Sorry.
I've heard good things about Powerhouse, but this was my first time dining there. Brought my 13 year old son along to enjoy the Sunday crab legs special. The food was great and the service was excellent. I will definitely be returning and will recommend it to friends.
I've eatin here before so I know the food is great, however when my family and I sat down it took over TWO HOURS to get our food, and it wasn't even crowded. I had been there on valentines day and had gotten my food quicker than that. Never once did the waitress apologize for our wait. It was my 21st, and she knew that as well and it was not celebrated. We almost got up and left because of how long it was taking. Our drinks themselves took about 20 mins. And our salads that should have been out right away took an hour.
Very neat building. We had a very good waitress. Seating was cramped. We had a reservation, but we're seeted in the bar area at a table for 4. We were a party of 5. They added a chair to one side!! (in a high traffic area)!
Great waitress! Subpar performance by the host staff. Food was pretty good.
Found Powerhouse while attending Bikes, Blues, and BBQ. Great steak, good appetizers. Hannah did a good job taking care of us!
Had really good food. The service was awful the waitress took forever to give us refills on drinks. She was outside talking to a guy instead of helping people. We had to ask 5x for things. Didn't get our courtesy appetizer until our food got there didn't even know we got one until we seen the person next to us get their's soon after they were seated. Besides the waitress the food was awesome and great environment.
Our calamari was undercooked. The rest of dinner was good we definitely liked the red beans and rice.
Powerhouse touts its seafood which is ok but the real draw for our table was the drinks (could be because we were celebrating a 21st birthday)
So the food is fine not spectacular. It has big TV screens if you want to keep up with the game. We were well taken care of by our server. The fried pickles were good, as was my salmon. If i have to host another big group of college kids, I will definitely bring them here.
