On a recent Sat., my husband and I very much enjoyed wine, food, and service at Posto 22. We liked the eggplant appetizer, spinach salad with gorgonzola and mushrooms, buccatini with eggplant and tomato sauce, featured fish of blackened mahi mahi with vegetable. The blackened fish was the best fish entree we've ever had at Posto 22, as it tasted fresh and flavorful.
we sat in the back room which was very pleasant but there was no heat. I could barely use my hands.
The best thing about Posto 22 is the value you get for your money. The salads are really fresh and delicious, as are the vegetables. Some of the chicken dishes go a little overboard with the sauces and miss the simplicity of the salads, the pizzas and grilled veggies. But again, for the price and the quality of the food you can't do better in New Rochelle. There is sort of an "insider" vibe to the place, which can be off-putting. Our waiter was far from friendly and an annoyed attitude. The tables are cramped (except in the back room and the new room), but it's still overall okay if you get a nice server (which I have plenty of times before).
Food and Service was excellent! All sauces were Devine and both steaks were cooked perfect. Best scallops I have had in years.
Had a very nice restaurant week menu. Waitstaff respected our need to leave on time. Not super gourmet, but hearty, satisfying, with quality ingredients. Lots of nice veggies on my chicken
We came to celebrate my brother's birthday and the food was delicious as usual. This is my go to restaurant in Westchester. I am never let down and always delighted.
Being a line cook from a 3 Michelin restaurant like jean georges I expected more attention and perfection. I recieved my food on a cracked plate something that at jean georges is unacceptable. Overall it was decent food and decent service for being in westchester
Our first time dining at Posto 22. Service, food, and ambiance terrific! Great 1/2 price deal on bottles of wine on Tuesday night. Was visiting daughter at college, and had a memorable dinner. Thankyou
Service was nice though slow. Error with entrée was quickly corrected with management offering comp. Food was better than expected but noise level of large tables of diners was awful and very distracting.
Took my wife, daughter and two friends out for daughters birthday, The girls attend a local college. Could not have asked for more, Service was excellent from the time I pulled up out front, till the time we got back into the car. Food was also excellent.
Posto 22 was recommended by a friend, visually it is nice and the price is reasonable. The service is fair at best but the food was subpar. My date and I ordered baked clams which were tiny and we thought it was humorous that they would serve such a tiny dish. The real disappointment was our entrée. We ordered a chicken thin crust pizza. Visually the pizza was not appealing at all and it tasted worse. The Balsamic drizzle made it look disgusting and did not add to it one bit. I guess they were trying to open up the box and do pizza a bit different, well they need to close the box on that one. We ate very little and we asked for the rest to be wrapped up. We tried to give it to a homeless person and when they refused it we just threw it out.
The food was very good and the price very reasonable. We each had a pizza, so we did not try a big variety, but what we had was very good.
Management of Posto 22 tries hard to please. We were assigned to a spacious table, although the restaurant was busy and crowded. Food was uneven, though, compared with menu description. Eggplant rollatine appetizer was excellent. Spinach salad had generous spinach, but not much gorgonzola. The branzino, listed as with grilled vegetables, came instead with plain stewed and chopped pieces of potato, carrot, zucchini. I had specifically told the waiter to leave out any potato, and he had told us that there was no potato in the dish. Buccatelli primavera was tasty. We enjoyed our Italian red wine.
Excellent in every way, from the greeting as you enter all thru the meal!!
If you want great Italian Food get the Burrata to start off with and then get the Chicken Martini. Just Awesome!!!
No problems from beginning to end. Great food and service!! I will come back soon with friends definitively!
Food was excellent with portions more than adequate in size; Presentation was also excellent. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable.
Restaurant is a bit dark and kind of had a feeling of a funeral home. Could use some help in decorating to make it vibrant. The bread was phenomenal, but the actual entrée was just ok. The owner/manager was unpleasant to those not Italian. As we walked out, a simple thank you and good night would have been in order, we got nothing. Not a place I'd go to again.
Excellent service, delicious food, good happy hour
Food and service are always consistently very good. If you want great food and service, come here. Worth the trip to downtown New Rochelle
An appetizer order was forgotten and arrived 1/2 hour later, after a reminder. Veal scalloppini was not pounded thin.
The portions are large and the prices are reasonable
Food is consistently good for good value. Side room a little noisy but otherwise love this place.
I usually go here for dinner but this time I tried lunch. The food was AWFUL, I ordered the salmon which was blacken instead they covered it with poppy seeds, it was dry and hard. NO way was that blacken!! my friend had a salad & complained that the lettuce was brown. It was an awful experience and I will never go back for lunch ever again
My daughter and I braved the rain and came out for the Monday Prix Fixe special. It was excellent. She had Chicken Martini and I had Chicken Parmagiana. Delicious. So ample were the portions that I was able to share leftovers with my husband.
Love the dining room, and the new Bar....FOOD EXCELLENT!.....Donna is the Best!
I really enjoyed the meal Everything was good from the first drink to the dessert
The restaurant is beautiful but the food was awful. Worse than what you would expect to find in a diner let alone a nice restaurant. Too bad, as all the menus items sound delicious but nothing delivers.
Best Italian in New Rochelle.
Our food was good, our waitress Victoria very nice, but the it took entirely too long for the main course to come to the table.
Otherwise the restaurant offers very good Italian food and I'd go again.
Three of us decided to have brunch. It was a wise decision. We were lucky enough to dine al fresco. The meals and service were fantastic. I had the Risotto seafood and it was mouthwatering.
The fish, chilean sea bass was frozen and microwaved. I am not coming back this place.
The $3.00 favor Martini's were great tasting and at a great price. Our server was the one who suggested these drinks, the great appetizers and main dishes. The food and the service was outstanding.
Recent expansion into the space next door has been tastefully done. Exposed bricks, big bar and beautiful lighting. Food is still very good, reasonable wine list, good service. The music was a bit loud.....this is a staple for us.
Found Il Posto 22 searching for restaurants in the area where my mother lives. I went by the reviews which were accurate. Place is very nice with an energetic atmosphere. Food was great and service was very attentive. Good for large or small groups. The Chicken Florentine was excellent as was the meatballs. Didn't get to try any desserts because I was too full. Hope to try the next time I am there.
We have eaten at Posto 22 many times and it has never let us down. The food and service are always excellent. The portions are generous and the the servers have always been attentive and freindly. Always a good safe choice.
This is the third time we have visited this restaurant. The food is very good and reasonable. The wine list pairs well with the entrees.
This restaurant had huge groups 22people to my left and 12 people to my right and we were wedged in between. we had to shout at each other to be heard. Not a pleasant experience
Went on a recent Monday night while in town on business - Monday pre fixe menu included standard Italian fare, ample options of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Food was good, if not especially imaginative. Portions were generous. A safe choice for a good meal.
The new room is beautiful, very pleasant staff, balsamic dressing in the tricolor salad is to die for!!!!!!!
